TER General Board

Why does it take so long

For posts to appear-like a couple hours. Makes it near impossible to follow conversations. And when it does appear is it just thrown in among the other posts. By the time it is posted there may be a bunch of other posts and the post may no longer be relevant or if it is an approval thing - moderated - which i guess it is, then those which are unmoderated would show up and again the same thing where my post may not make sense or question already answered by the time my post goes up. If this is a case of moderation (have never seen this on a board before) how long until you are no longer moderated and how can a discussion flow when certain people are moderated and others not?

Just curious as it seems a bit odd.

Just the way it is. Remember is TER's sand box, we just play in it.   Continue to post on any of the national boards and your regional board. After awhile you can ask your local board mod to unmoderated you. Sometimes mods have run a special unmoderated offer, where all you have to do is send a pm to them and request to be unmoderated. Of course to use pm's you need vip membership.

All users are moderated when they join TER.  This means that their posts hang in an approval queue until they are read by a moderator and turned loose.  The software keeps them in the order that they were posted; not the order released.  That may or may not change when the new software version is released.

This board has 2 moderators officially, although others sneak in at times to pitch in.  In the last 30 days, this board has had 5,169 approved posts and many that never saw the light of day.  In general, posts appear very quickly here compared to many of the less frequented boards.  Unfortunately, both moderators are traveling more this week than usual, so sometimes a few hour gap will happen.

Once your posting history warrants it, you'll be unmoderated.  If you think that it's been too long, feel free to PM me and we can discuss it privately.

Thanks Phil, your response is greatly appreciated and now I have a better understanding of how it works. Amazing the amount of posts you have to filter through. Makes sense or god knows what would be posted.

Thanks again Phil

Or does or says something insanely stupid to get moderated.

Kinda curious. Is there a count on how many times someone has been moderated?

Not for bragging rights or anything. More like a 'yikes' factor. Might make one think, for a change.

I'm in charge of flirting.  We use a distributive work approach.

Actually, I'm on vacation this week.  Go figure, lol.

I have no idea who hold the record for "number of time moderated", but I bet your record is safe for the forseeable future.

Now of course there are a few that haven't crossed the "banishment" line yet, but who are on "lifetime moderation" with no possibility of parole.

Just ask your local Mod.  Although being VIP and moderated have nothing to do with each other.

That at least, on occasion, I had the sense enough to say 'Hey! Wanna cut me off tonight?' before I, well, you know.

Still, I'm not proud of it. But, I'm looking into things to tone it down, so to speak. ;)

From what I understand, ladies have to pay for VIP just like us.

Someone(LP or Gambler) need to clear this up for some of us.

I admit, I don't read all the rules. Hence, that's why I get into so much shit sometimes.

But from my talks with some ladies, VIP isn't there just because they're providers. They have regular access just like any other non-VIP member, but are excluded like a non-paying 'John' as far as the all encompassing rights and advantages.

Guys? Wanna clear this up?
