This evening I received a lovely email from a fav of mine expressing the hope that I had enjoyed a pleasant thanksgiving and basically giving me the "yoo hoo big boy I'm over here" treatment.

My email address contains the name Gregory

and she addressed the message to

David !!!!!

I give up......

PS:  Yes you did sweetie - go back and check it!
Someone's gonna get a spanking!

I wonder if that's just the ticket

and how many other blokes got the "David" letter!

I've gotta feeling she's going to be hearing about this one....

but

it gives pause, and credence to the view that

it is not wise to use client names......

I'm not even getting the form letters. How do I get on that list?

It could have been worse.... she could have screamed out the wrong name at that crucial moment... LOL.

I personally have received a couple of messages from long term clients on my voicemail that were for other ladies.  Can anyone say, "OOOPS!"

LOL!!

I've received calls from clients, who addressed me as another provider. I just giggle and take it in stride. It's no secret that providers and clients see and know alot of people, so a mistake is gonna pop up at some point. Though I haven't made that mistake yet. Knock on wood!

Some emails are sent out "en masse" by programs like Constant Contact - or by an assistant they hire to help with things like that.  It might just be a simple error.  You should point it out to her so that if she didn't type it personally to you - she can fix it.  Some of you hobbiests would be pretty freaked out if you knew just how many of you we have in our little black books!  She may also have done it as a favor to you in case your wife found out.  I used to send cards - but I'd alwasy put the wrong name on it.  That way if discovered - the man could say it wasn't him - it was addresssed to someone else.  But I would always tell him if I sent him anything - it would have the wrong name on it so he'd know it was deliberate - and also to save his butt if discovered.

I don't think I could pull it all off - too annoying.  I'm glad that I don't have to hide anything I do from anyone important to me!
