Any teeth whitening techniques that work other than lasers. Im a poor SOB and I cant afford that. Anybody ever try that paste on stuff overnight? Should I gargle with bleach? Im serious...
See a dentist to have your teeth cleaned, then ask him/her which method will do the most for the least. Don't use hydrogen peroxide cause it damages enamel, according to an article I read.
I use a product called Nite White but you have to get it at your dentists office. They will make you some trays and you put the gel in them and wear it for about 3 hours or so. Once you get them white you can go about 6 weeks between treatments. Not quite as expensive as lasers but still a little high. But it does work.
Forget about anything you brush or rinse with. The keys are contact time and concentration. Carbamide or hydrogen peroxide both work equally well, but you do need a fitted tray to keep the concentration in contact with your teeth. You can get the same results with trays as with lasers, but it takes a couple of weeks. Strips will work, but if your teeth aren't in almost perfect alignment, they don't fit well, and there can be a problem with foaming. Try the Oral-B strips as they cover more teeth than the Crest version. Or save your $$ and do it right with a dentist dispensed tray system. Very effective, and shouldn't cost more than $300. BTW, baking soda is also a waste of time. It disolves so fast it has virtually no cleaning power in the mouth. It is a marketing gimic of the toothpaste manufacturers because it does leave a fresh taste in your mouth.
Okay, so I purchased the Whitelight system from Walgreens....Wal-Mart has it for $18.88.
I applied the solution to the top/bottom trays which comes in the kit, then turned on the laser light (10 min automatic timer).
So, I left it in for 20 min. My teeth automatically started feeling sensitive but I went with it....
I got white spots on my teeth, so I know that it is actually working (I took a pic after the 1st 10 min)...which it mentions in the booklet. but since I only did it for 20 min instead of 30 min (booklet suggestion of 2-30min sessions per day for 5 days)...which is all that the kit has to make the teeth really white.
I just tried it before bedtime...so, I'm glad I purchased it. Then once monthly the booklet suggests. I can't wait to do it again tomorrow.
