First of I really like America.
However, I feel when it comes to sex its a very puritan place. I have noticed that out of all the places out there America is the one with the most stigma around sex work.

Here is an example that no one can disagree with.
I was in Costa Rica (big surprise) several years back and I met the chica in the bar, but she was with a buddy of mine so I wasn't about to "poach" his girl. all I'm paying for is the cost of a date or night out. I will pay for dinner with women who are not fucking me, so I don't consider it a payment for sex with a woman who IS fucking me. Even those who are "lucky" enough by virtue of being rockstars, powerful politicians, TV personalities, or professional athletes have to worry about being sued for millions and getting their careers ruined, by those who for a reason fell into their lap, and were completely fine spreading their legs, until they weren't !

America is the most advanced ass backwards country out there.. Finally the states have caught on to making pot legal. Making pay for play legal will take another 50 yrs for sure.
In my opinion, as soon as the whores in the state legislatures figure out a way to tax it, it will become legal. There are more people hurt by legalized gambling than by paying for a BJ, but as long as it can be taxed, it's ok with them.

I grew up in Europe and came here to the US after university. Don’t let the puritans on the far right and the far left skew your impression of the attitude vis a vis sex in the US. Raising a family here has been an eye opener. I’m very sex positive but not wanting my daughter to be sexually active in middle school seemed normal to me. I came to understand however that there’s tremendous pressure for girls to be sexually available (to their peers) in their early teens. The culture has swung too far in the permissive direction. So yeah, by the time guys are in their early 20s they absolutely expect to get sex on the second if not first date. Women who hold out won’t usually get a third date.
I would like to add that it seems that casual sex is more common in America meanwhile, pay for play is more common in Europe, Latin America and other areas.
Sex was much more available to men and women before the agricultural revolution and private property.

Sex is part of the relationships between people, so if you help someone or share food, they may be more inclined to have sex with you. But there is such a thing, as "sheer desire". And since food sharing is expected and universal, sex is also very liberal.
