Also what series of events with those around you would prompt you to come clean? Finally are those around you extremely inquisitive with respect to certain predilections that you would have and would it promulgate your admission to participating in certain activities with the aforementioned sector of women? Also what thoughts did you have with respect to the fallout of certain people and how they would react when their suspicions where confirmed and did you always prepare for that? Just asking because it is a sensitive subject in a society which is extremely puritanical and conservative with such subjects.
It's a common question whether providers tell their family and friends about their job. I'm wondering whether hobbyists talk to their inner circle about their P4P activities. If you do, who do you tell? Only your best friends not relatives? Only your sons not your daughters? Only those who also tell you?
There are exceptions, of course. I have told certain trusted friends whom I believe can handle it. My trust has so far not been violated. But I am retired and in the process of divorce, so I have little to lose.\

There are two women that know. They don't have a problem with it and are discreet. They are not part of my regular life. I'm single, divorced, and have grown children. There is no one that I have to hide my activities from like an SO and such but I keep my activities to myself. It's best to not tell anyone. I do know some people that if they knew would not have a problem with it but they couldn't be trusted to keep it in confidence either. Bottom line just don't tell it.
But then again it was my wife's idea. I think I am a rare bird though.

Not a chance. Loose lips sinks ships. I think it is harder to keep it quiet than it is to tell a couple people, but from experiences the #1 reason people get busted, no matter what the activity...they told someone about it.
The married guys have valid reasons for telling no one as they are cheaters. The guys with sensitive jobs or who are in the public eye also have good reason to be secretive. The rest of the single/divorced guys are just as bad as gays who stay in the closet out of some misguided fear of ostracization, how can you promote legalization/decriminalization when you can't even admit you frequent prostitutes to people with no power over you?
To answer the OP's question, yes I do tell my family. I am not only a whore mongering pig, but I am a happy whore mongering pig, and anyone who doesn't like it can suck my whore mongering dick.

When did you know that you were at a personal and psychological crossroads with respect to the hobby and your personal life? What where the particular outside factors that you knew would one day coerce you to disclose your participation and role in the hobby? Also what did you contemplate about most with respect to the ramifications and fallout when you finally dropped this bomb that could be perceived as antithetical socially to most?
I never reached any type of psychological crossroads where it comes to fucking beautiful women. I simply am not ashamed of my behavior and feel no overpowering need to hide it. I am just basically an honest man, and I feel that lying about the hobby would make me a hypocrite.
There was no contemplation, no crossroads,and certainly no "bomb" I like women, I like sex, I have money, what's the BFD?

Best to keep things quiet. My wife is suspect of me sometimes though when there is something on the news about a local bust.
he doesn't really approve, but he understands. His wife and my sisters do not know, they would not, I don't think, understand, much less approve. Of my 2 grown sons, one knows, the other does not. No need to go into reasons here. I am long divorced with no SO, so that is not a problem. I do have some close friends that know, some of whom have participated as well.

It seems like most of you keep it a secret. From looking at TER I got the impression that more hobbyists would be open about this subject with their families, but I guess I underestimated the number of you who have SO's/jobs that cannot be compromised.
It more work than it's worth. I talk to my wife about frequently, but we are older ( 56, 62 ). Come close a couple of times to talking her into joining me. We haven't had sex for years and I think we might try it again, talking about the hobby has helped.
A secret is only a secret when you are the only one who knows. Your bro? Your best friend? etc At some time in the future, there is a huge risk this will bite you in the ass. Only my doctor knows.

I am divorced, and have no kids. I am self-employed. I buried the Morals Police in the swamp behind my house years ago.
