Seems like 1/3-1/2 are always getting 'sick'. Lots of sick people running around or lots of pretty ladies lol.

I know I am always very aware of my health before I see a provider.. I don't want to give her a cold or anything and this time of the year,  I might be inclined to cancel if I think I feel something coming on.. I usually look forward so much to  my date that I can't sleep the night before(remember Christmas morning when you were a little kid).. I keep hoping that I will take it for granted.. and I usually see  my ATF twice a month and another girl once a month.. so it's not like it's a yearly thing at this point.. But if I were to feel "off" I might cancel..

But more BP girls playing that game than guys.. And if the guys do play, that's where they learned it from..

"Day of” cancellations are very rare and I can’t even remember the last time I had a NCNS.

Would not expect such a high rate. Are they typically the same guys? Are you enforcing your cancellation policy?  

Because they fear the wrath of The Many-Armed Goddess, Durga!

I've found the prospect of being slain by Hindu deity to be a stronger deterrent than a deposit on a future appointment.

Top excuses are.... awful cold that started this morning, horrible injury, car accident, or family tragedy. But then whey they get horny that very same day, they'll contact me last minute and say they are better now.

OK....maybe 3. ....during the last 8 years or so.  And yes, in each case it was due to illness. I mean it DOES happen. But in my case I notified the lady at least the day before the appt.

And it helped w payment, but he ain't gonna see me again, (though I was nice, just truthful,) but I don't blackmail or threaten. That may be why.

Because I said I'd be there with him first.  

Why don't they just write it in the fuckin review? I don't tell ppl anything that isn't true.

So maybe a stricter cancellation policy?  If a guy knows that all he needs to do is tell you he's not feeling well and you'll waive the cancellation fee, he's probably more inclined to book knowing that he can just cancel if he needs to without consequence.  

More like checking in and getting the full scoop that doesn't make it to the review.  Same concept as a provider checking references I would guess (although I may be wrong).  

they really have been getting sick. there's an H1N1 flu strain going around the metro area so better they cancel on you then get you sick. you wouldn't want this flu CO, it's major bad shit in your lungs.

Not insinuating that someone is gossiping about you.. Although the fact is that people always talk about other women before taking the plunge. Its a normal practice amongst seasoned hobbyists...Its just like employer checking on you before hiring you for a job...

what an ass. sorry buddy but it's flu season and this one is bad all over the country. if i'm getting sick, i'm not getting her sick just to avoid a cancellation fee. and if she has half a brain, she'll appreciate me for protecting her from getting my miserable fucking disease. a few hundred bucks isn't worth spending a week in bed with a high fever.

This is not new.

But there are consequences to me cancelling. And I understand that and am ok with that.

Sick was an example. There are a ton of other excuses, but as many cancellations I get, and by the way, I just started taking cancellation fees, it's starting to really cost money. If you knew the whole deal you'd get it.  

"I felt like I was getting sick, and I was hoping not, so I scheduled."

I haven't had a NCNS since my agency days (for agency girls, I can tell you that they are pretty much endemic).

Yeah I only see 1-2 gentlemen per week right now.  If I only have one thing booked all week, and it's a last-minute cancellation (less than an hour's notice, has happened to me twice this month), I still have to pay for my Incall that I rented for the appointment and my transportation, etc.  I don't have a high-maintenance lifestyle so I am okay when this happens, but it's so rude and makes me feel really discouraged and upset that someone thought it was okay to waste hundreds of dollars of my money not to mention usually 4-5 hours of my time between getting ready, traveling to Manhattan from Brooklyn, traveling home, etc.  I never "hate my job" when I am actually seeing clients.  That part is always great or even if it's a mixed bag the positive aspects are the ones I tend to focus on and I let everything else go.  But the inconsiderate and expensive last-minute cancellations, repeatedly, do sometimes leave me frustrated and wanting to quit.  As soon as I meet a more considerate gentleman the feeling goes away though.  But yeah, totally not cool.  I screen well and I've never had such an epidemic of cancellations with screened clients until I moved to NYC.  Even a few NCNS from screened clients.  What can I do about it tho?  Ask for a cancellation fee, notify their references, move on.  If they don't send a cancellation fee... Well, there may be long-term consequences for their reputation.  I would never blackmail anyone, but I do notify other providers when someone is a time-waster.  But NYC is a big market so I don't think this ultimately affects hobbyists too much.  They have so many options, many of whom don't read these boards.  In smaller markets, blacklisting guys who cancel last-minute and doesn't send your cancellation fee can be effective at helping other providers avoid these experiences.  Lots of these guys are chronic double/triple bookers and need to be tagged as such.

me too. if i cancel it will be at least several days before a session.  never same day.

I do not get many cancellations as I am very very thorough about screening and I rarely give second chances when I am cancelled on.  
I have indeed had to cancel due to either illness or because of a torrential downpour that left a tree in my driveway (the gent was not forgiving or sympathetic whatsoever) so I understand that things do happen.  

Not the same goal but the game plan is the same.

I've toughened up quite a bit since I've met her.  

But I would always BC someone who's recently seen an indy provider, who I haven't seen yet.

It's a case by case basis. How do I know if it's true or not? If he pays it, then he's serious about seeing me the next time. But a guy I've seen and is a good client.. Prob not

I get so many I am considering giving up

In May when I was so sick I couldn't get out of bed. But then again, I don't schedule anything when I think I may get sick.
