In our recent string regarding films featuring escorts, there was some debate about whether or not Rebecca De Mornay's character, Lana, in the movie, Risky Business, was a ROB.
I've been using the acronym, ROB (Rip-Off Bitch) for some time now; though I never read a definition, or even what it stood for, anywhere. (I guessed).
I've always defined a ROB as any provider who used the escort business to rip you off in any way. Others seem to have a more narrow definition. If so, what is your definition And if so, why is your definition other than: "Any provider who uses her escort business to rip you off in any way."
As far as "Lana" goes, and my memory sucks, but I believe she ultimatley provided FS so I am not sure if she actually was a ROB or not. But the tranny that showed up earlier was a ROB!
Jackie, the tranny was sweet as could be and did nothing but give Joel, Lana's phone number. But Lana conspired with her pimp to rob Joel's house. She may have had a change of heart toward the end, but she used escorting to get into Joel's life and into his house for the purposed of robbing him.
I'll have to watch that film again. I only remember Lana as holding some of Joel's property until she got paid. Her pimp robbed the house because Joel had taken his ladies and was collecting his cut of their earnings.
OK you're talking about my all time favorite movie. Lana delivered FS, but Joel didn't have the $$$. She stole Joel's mom's glass egg when Joel didn't return fast enhough, and the rest of the movie was getting that egg back. Reminded me of parties my bro and I threw, not because we invited prostitutes but because despite all our repair efforts my parents always found some evidence of ourn party (i.e. cigarette behind a cookbook, etc.)
that taking the egg was not merely an insurance of getting paid, but the beginning of an elaborate scheme to take Joel for all he had? Lana was in on it with Guido the killer pimp from the beginning, taking inventory of the house the next time she got into it.
the ad says full service, multiple languages spoken, etc. on the phone, they say the price is inclusive. she arrives and looks great, you subtly indicate the envelope. you sit down and chat for a few minutes at which point she informs you that she doesn't offer any illegal services. "but we could go out and have a drink, or grab a bite to eat if you want!" it's 2:00am. i assume there is a goon lurking around somewhere if they play this game, so i just bite the bullet and throw her out though ten years ago i might have let him in and put him in the hospital just on principal
Yet another reason why I prefer OUTCALL at my own place....I sure there is some scenario I haven't thought of, but it is hard for me to imagine a ROB in my own apartment. I am pretty confident any provider I'd be WILLING to see (you know...under 6' under 200lbs) isn't going to get past me with my own money (or anything else that I don;t care for her to have, for that matter), nor is her potential accomplice going to get past my doorman. And, if EITHER happens, either destiantion (the front door or my apartment) can be alerted via phone call.
Not to mention that I suspect a call to the police in my neighboorhood would not only be responded to quickly...I am pretty sure Mr. & Ms. ROB wouldn't want to hang around for the cops to arrive either.
When / where do most ROBs happen? Outcall @ hotel? Incall @ providers place?
there is a definition of ROB as taking the money and not providing the service. Poor service or no-shows are not considered ROBs.
Using this definition, I think it would include a provider saying "2-hour minimum" and then quickly ending the session in 15 minutes with a BJ. Although she did provide SOME service, she intentionally charged for a service (2 hours) that she had no intention of providing.
I think it is very important to establish a precise meaning for a term like this and use it CONSISTENTLY because it can be devasting to a provider when misused.
