will happen all over the web..This is just the start of government control and it will filter out to every adult site.
Most adult websites charge the ladies to advertise so this is nothing new..It was free and easy so it brought a larger undesirable element.
Those legit hobbiests and providers who use that site bother no one.
A one day add on craigslist at $5 a day will now cost $1,825 a year..That's just one post most posters will do that multiple times a day..Ladies, think of the cost to advertise on other sites and you will get my drift. This is not cheap any more
CraigsList will be making a lot more money now with that price tag and with all the free publicity droves are flocking to check it out.

There is only a fraction of the usual amount of ads appearing on Craig’s List under erotic services than there was a week ago or so. It is kind of ironic because LE has worked for years to rid the streets of highly visible prostitution. When the internet came along, LE claimed victory in the fight to control prostitution. The reasoning was if it wasn’t seen it didn’t exist. Unlike other real crimes like robbery, burglary, assault, murder, etc. where the crimes are reported, there is no record of prostitution except for the arrests made. If two hundred robberies are reported and the police solve fifty of them, then they have a twenty five percent success rate. However, since there is no record of how many acts of prostitution occur, LE’s success is based on the absence of visible prostitution and the amount of arrests made. In many ways the internet has helped LE “clean up” the streets. Now the district attorneys are cracking down on Craig’s List which might result in prostitutes returning to the streets thus creating more work for LE. Cities, counties and states are already short on revenue because of the weak economy. If this is not downright stupid, I don’t what is.
You can thank religion for that.
...remains unbelievable to me. Making it a criminal activity when two free, consenting adults want to engage in sex and money is freely exchanged. I can see cracking down on public displays and street walking. We don't allow certain sized signs in certain areas. I can understand outlawing forced activity. Imagine a gang of criminals forcing young people into studying accounting under duress and then forcing them to be CPAs against their will. Finally, I can understand requiring health checks. BUT CRIMINALIZING (not shouting, just emphasizing) this free highly pleasurable and --I would argue-- socially useful activity? It is beyond ridiculous.
WE ALL know I love my strippers... and I tell them I frequent escorts... more to erase the doubt in their minds about why I am there.... SEX plain and simple...
I've had more than one stripper tell me, "Oh, I would never sell sex, I don't approve and think that would be difficult..." and then proceed to provide me with a BJ.... ok???? (Technically, I think that Bill Clinton would agree with her that she did not have sex!lol) and then ask for a substantial "tip!!"
incredible no?
I could be wrong; but I think LE is more trying to crack down on the under aged, pimps and shady agencies than the professional independent.
I know for a fact that LA CL is requiring a 5$ charge to a credit card for each ad placed. Most minors don't have a CC to make this charge on, and any individual/agency offering up their card for the placing of multiple ads for several different providers could conceivably be charged for P&P or at least "aiding and abetting".
For the present Craigslist will slow from this LE offensive; but it's not a knockout yet.
All that it seems to have done in my opinion is to scatter them to numerous other websites. Especialy backpage. I would think that LE would at least want them all in one place so they can monitor the posters all on one site.
I'm not too sure what their thought process was on this...did they think by CL charging for ads that it would end the problem? Couldn't they foresee it would only be more difficult to keep track of? Another 'sweep it under the rug' mindset. If they can't see it in their faces, then it doesn't exist? I had my little ol ad on backpage for sometime now. Mine and just a few others. Now, it's lost in a sea of CL refugees. LOL. Who knows...maybe it's a good thing about CL...If they run out of places to advertise the way they do, maybe they will all get their own websites, come on to ter and learn a bit o' class and start becoming upstanding providers!!!
JMHO,
MEOW!!
Actually took mine off last night ... I iked the convenience that it keeps reposting itself for what ever period of time you choose. But about a week ago replies stopped coming in and i went to check backpage. My oh my. It DOES look like CL now!
Same ads, same people, same reposts.

I think the isea of a C Card plus working phone is to make it traceable. We all know about hobby fones. I wonder if those prepaid cards will work?
I do not think this will eliminate the world's oldest profession.
I agree this will scatter the girls across other sites which then they'll have to crack down on.
The $5 fee will sure cut down on over-posting!

I wonder if a poster's ad gets flagged, do they have to pay again to post. Now that would sure add up!!!!
What we are seeing happen with CL was brought on by providers and pimps who use the same approach that street walkers do. There is nothing low profile or discrete about posting every fifteen minutes, posting nasty pictures, posting what city or town you are in and, in some cases, being stupid enough to post what neighborhood or hotel you are in!
As usual the legit ladies who used CL as a way to advertise immediate availability are now suffering because of lazy and greedy cut rate internet street walkers.
does not bother me at all. CL is eye candy only. I do not have a lot of hobby experience but I do have a little. I have never nor will I ever call on CL. I use this site and other "pay" sites with have a review system that I trust. for the most part I am a lurker but I am safe and want to keep it that way. I gladly pay my dues on here. I have meet great ladies and I know what to expect, because of this and other sites like it. CL is just not my thing.. but that is my .5 worth
CL is used by a lot of people for mainstream commercial activities--selling stuff, leasing apartments, etc. Mainstream America doesn't like prostitution, so when they see the sexual stuff they complain to the cops. The cops and prosecutors respond to the pressure.
Sites like TER are not thrust into their faces everyday, so there are fewer public complaints.
