We need more poetry around here.  Anyone out there hankering to be the poet laureate of TER?  Express your feeling for your ATF or your SO or some combination of both.  I love to read poetry, and I'm not alone, I'm sure.  Belt one out and together we will make our existence more meaningful and be better prepared for National Opera Month.

Lets obey April.  Rhyme.

And I proved it with a post on this board when I first arrived. I was called a white knight, a creep, a stalker, an asshole, and any number of other unpleasantries. Since it was you who suggested that I post it, I think I'll pass this time around, but thanks for the suggestion.

Maybe you should get us started with a few lines of wit and wisdom.

There once was a poster on TER
Who thought he had postings so fair
But when he had posted
He really got toasted
By others who’d rather be bare

~~Dreamcatcher~~
~Laying beside you in slumber,
I dream of your deep embrace,
I taste your lips on mine,
I see such Passion in your face.
~Your eyes see right through me,
They captivate my Soul,
I am yours deep in slumber,
Our Desires out of control.
~Your Essence, it consumes me,
Your touch leaves me still,
You Enchant me in my slumber,
Leaving me No free will.
~Your way, so Gentle and calming,
Your Heart beats strong and True,
Entangled beside you in slumber,
My dreams are Only of you.

 ~~~Seduction~~
~~Come let this Passion,
Wash over you in waves,
Building and growing Intensely,
Awakening All of your senses.
~~Feel this Heat coursing through your veins,
Your Heart beating Quick,
Your skin moist, yet on Fire,
Your nerves Alive with Antisipation,
Such Wild Sensation...it catches your breath.
~~Drink in All of this Intimacy,
With each breath that you take,
Let it Seduce you, Consuming you,
Til it Overwhelmingly Intoxicates you.
Come drown in Desire.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Nicole Kelly.
     ~~~Our Tryst~~~
Your Desire is Not beyond your reach.
It is Mine to Inspire, to quench your Soul.
That single moment, a glance a touch,
When time stands still...
One which takes your breath away.
An Intimately Passionate Sensual Tryst.
Ours to Indulge and Completely Enjoy.
~~~~His Muse~~~~
~She brings to him such Comfort,
She has a Gentler way,
He knows she is Devoted to him,
Although she can not stay.
~She fills his heart with Passion,
She Inspires his Soul to take flight,
She gives her love to him so deeply,
She belongs to him this night.
~The curve of her hips, the smell of her hair,
The tone of her voice, as she whispers his name,
He drinks it All in and Desires her more,
From this moment on, he will Not be the same.
~Stolen moments held in time,
A glimpse of Love complete,
A memory locked in his mind,
Until next time they meet.

ok its all I can remember...last one.

~~~For Your Delight~~~
~She knows what you Want from her,
To take you to hights of Desire,
Beyond what your mind can see.
~She knows what you need from her,
Passion in it's rarest form,
To unleash it and set it free.
~A Lover who is Gentle and Kind,
A heart Sincere and True,
This woman will set your Love on Fire,
Tonight she Loves Only you.
~She comes to you at beacon call,
To pleasure you is her Delight,
She will captivate your inner soul,
She is your Love for this one night.
~No need for you to keep inside,
This Lust you feel for womankind,
She comes to you to fill your Desires,
No Finer Courtesan shall you find.
It is, however, part of my very favorite song, by my very favorite songwriter, Jim Croce, and I thought it might be fitting here. I've felt this way on many occasions, but don't possess the gift that this man had.
We understood completely
that our love would last no longer
than the morning's early chime
still I cannot forget her
and the hours we spent together
and the time that she was mine
and I remember her
at first I felt uneasy
cause she didn't care to know me
till our bodies introduced us
and we cared to know no more
in her softness warmth and giving
in her selfless way of living
she had taught me so much more
still we understood completely
that our love would last no longer
than the morning's early chime
still I cannot forget her
and the hours we spent together
and the time that she was mine
and I remember her
Acquainted With The Night
Robert Frost
I have been one acquainted with the night.
I have walked out in rain—and back in rain.
I have outwalked the furthest city light.
I have looked down the saddest city lane.
I have passed by the watchman on his beat
And dropped my eyes, unwilling to explain.
I have stood still and stopped the sound of feet
When far away an interrupted cry
Came over houses from another street,
But not to call me back or say good-by;
And further still at an unearthly height
One luminary clock against the sky
Proclaimed the time was neither wrong nor right.
I have been one acquainted with the night.
How do they do it, the ones who make love
without love? Beautiful as dancers,
gliding over each other like ice-skaters
over the ice, fingers hooked
inside each other's bodies, faces
read as steak, wine, wet as the
children at birth whose mothers are going to
give them away. How do they come to theCome to the   Come to the   God   come to the still waters, and not love the one who came there with them, light rising slowly as steam off their joined skin? These are the true religious,
the purists, the pros, the ones who will not
acept a false Messiah, love the
priest instead of the God. They do not
mistake the lover for their own pleasure,
they are like great runners: they know they are alone
with the road surface, the cold, the wind,
the fit of their shoes, their over-all cardio-
vascular health - just factors, like the partner
in the bed, and not the truth, which is the
single body alone in the universe
against its own best time.
Memories of the way it was before,
Carries me to this place I so Adore.
Time with you and time with me,
Slipped slowly by the days,
I cherish you inside my heart,
In so many Special ways.
I turn to you, but you're not there,
It's empty where you stood,
To go back in time and make things right,
Inside I wish we could.
Your laughter haunts my inner soul,
Your touch still here but faded,
My heart it aches with desperate sighs,
Sorrows of how you are jaded.
Remembering your soothing touch,
Your whispers in the night,
I know deep in my heart it's true,
We could never make this right.
Our kisses gone forever now,
Like seasons, passed us by,
The closeness we once shared in touch,
Has watched Our true love die.
Ouch...I wrote it, but I believe it's even harder to read it for me...it's all about healing I guess.
All of these words
I use are superfluous
instruments abused
by high-voltage
extension cords to
simply translate
the same feeling
between two souls,
from a higher being
among us,
saying what we
mean more clearly
in its loving silence
between us.
For my ATF...
The brightness of her smile
Makes her eyes more alluring.
Full of mystery and smoke
Fueled by fire and desire
Of our stolen times together
Times together
Which are seldom long enough
But offer merely a taste
Of what might be
Might be
But never will be realized
Except through our liaisons
Our dreams
And our passions
Passions that
While enough to please the bodies
Can never fully sate
The cravings of our minds,
Our Hearts, our spirits,
Our beings and our souls.
The brightness of her smile
Lights my days
Even as it haunts
My nights
