Sexuality is a need, not actually fucking. You can live without that. Except for procreation, all of humanity could abstain without much harm done.
Males, in days of yore, provided women with food, shelter, drink and clothing in exchange for sex, companionship, feelings of belonging, and more mental stimulation than the wild could offer. The residue of those primitive agreements existing today in such rituals as we experience in the hobby.
Women are perfectly capable of taking care of themselves nowadays, and except for a little playtime, we really have very little need for each other. But giving a token of material support in exchange for sexual intimacy is a quaint and pleasant ritual that celebrates and allows us to relive those elements of our ancestral past.
But go out to the wildlands of Alberta and spend a winter as a hermit holed up in a cabin until the snow thaws and the roads are passable in Springtime, and you'll see how unimportant sex or even gratuitous human contact is for survival.

What people fail to realize, or simply chose to ignore. Would be that having sex is simply going through the motions of procreation. Any body having sexual relations beyond the penile penetration of the vagina, is actually doing it wrong. There is no such thing as having sex.
I wouldn't even describe sexuality as a need, I'd classify sexuality male or female as a default setting for living organisms. Everything else is the confusion that persist from the over complication of going through the motions minus the necessity for procreation.
