In order to bill yourself as a provider of massage, by law, you must be licensed. I always wonder why women on the massage side don't get hit by LE or the licensing people asking for their certification.  Can anyone shed some light here?  Does anyone know if any women that have sensual massage ads (ie: thatmall, eros, cityvibe etc.)have gotten busted for being uncertified? Word of mouth is one thing but an actual ad is asking for trouble.

Hi Heather. I knew someone who got in trouble for not having a license for massage. She worked for a guy, along with other girls who worked there also. They did not take her to jail. But they scared everyone off & that was that. Done out of a private apartment. So they can get into trouble. My 2 cents from Mr. Fedex. PS: Did you get my email?

Hello Heather,I have been a C.M.T. for 10 years and I know of a couple of my friends that got busted. The fine for operating  a massage business without a license is $500.00 and a appearence in court. LE will go after C.M.T./girls that advertise under massage. They try to get them on the higher charge but, if they cannot LE will give them the ticket. If a C.M.T. is licensed and LE gets her on a higher charge (lude act, etc.)She loses her license, pays a big fat fine and what ever she is charged with.LE writes out a hell of a lot of fines but, you don't hear about them.I know of a case where LE couldn't get into a place. They walked up to the door and told the girl, they new what was going on and gave them tickets. LE also told them they had to move.LE also followed them to the new place and did the same thing again.I guess they thought if they couldn't bust them. They would make sure they would have to pay up the a**.You cannot get busted for being uncertified only unlicensed. You get certified by the school you attend and licensed by the county or city you work in.And as far as asking for trouble by advertising on Massage-HQ,Eros etc. It's no different then escorts advertising. I hope I have shed some light on the matter. If you need anymore info, just let me know. I'll be happy to respond.Good Karma to allLiz

How do you get licensed without being certified? Isn't that sorta like trying to get a license to practice law without passing the bar exam?  Appreciate you taking the time to respond and let me know the scoop and the experiences of those that are hand skilled.luv, heather

Hi Heather,You cannot get licensed without being certified. State, county and local city law states in order to be licensed one must complete a min. of 150 hours of training for a massage tech license and a min. of 500 hours of training for a massage therapist license. The only way a C.M.T. can work within the law without a license is if they work at a doctors office under their license. When I had my office at a spa I had to post my license on the wall in full view. Most girls at MP's are not licensed but,I guess the Big Boss thinks it is cheaper to pay the fine.Look at it this way. How many women do you think would work for a MP after spending any where from 5,000. to 10,000. on school? The MP's couldn't get anybody to work for them if they only hired licensed women. And it's so easy to get a fake license.I'm not sure what type of experiences you want to know about. But if you post what you want to know about I'll respond.Good Karma to ya HeatherLiz

Absolute accurate post by Liz and a good one.  A couple of clarifications and observations.1. Most of the citations are under the authority of a Municipal or county code and not under general state law.2. The $500 is the max fine but it also contains a penalty assessment in California of 170% of the base fine plus $100 to the State Victim Restitution Fund (more revenue generating bullshit).  The total fine on $500 is actually $1450. Normally, one does not receive the max fine on a first offense.3. The offense is a misdemeanor even though it comes under the authority of a Municipal or County Code but it does not get reported on your rapsheet.4. If they can't get you on the massage theory (i.e. you call it a rubdown or aromatherapy or whatever) they will still cite you for doing business without a license which also carries the same max fine.5. MPs normally get busted for not having the license posted in a conspicuous place unless, of course, LE has been told to look the other way.6. LE has a way of harassing you without citing and forcing you to close your doors if they really want to. It's part of their training.Regards to all, levendi

I noticed in some cities where you need  a license for massage they say they are offering aroma therapy & relaxation service.
