As a Moderator, you tend to notice patterns of subjects like a dizzy case of deja vu all over again. There is one general subject that constantly amazes me. The sheer lameness of all these threads complaining about this provider or that provider and what their donations are SUPPOSED to be.

It's almost like a silly little dick measuring contest; insecure manginas and white knights get all huffy and puffy and fluffy over some provider who's rate is higher than normal... ok back the fuck up a second, what the hell is a normal rate anyway? LA has Kgirls that will fuck a man to tears for less than the cost of a toaster. And then there are the providers who don't even answer the phone for less than $1g who are JUST as busy. So what's normal?

And then theres the "Why should SHE ask for a donation of $$$$$ when HER rate is only $$$???"

they want a central bureau that assigns rates and they want to be in charge of said central bureau. they have no faith in the market. but the market will tell the lady right quickly if her rates are out of line for services provided.

She sets a price, if her income meets or exceeds her needs, that is the value of her service.

Let me add that it is a value equation for each hobbyist.

Each hobbyist as an individual looks over the merits of each provider as an individual; and based upon her merits and his values, he decides whether the rate she charges offers him value.

No matter how much or how little a provider charges, anyone who voluntarily pays that rate believes it to be a good deal for what he is getting.

Attempts to set rates do NOT just interfere with providers; but they also interfere with hobbyists. There is an interplay between hobbyists and providers; and interfering with that dynamic helps neither in the long run.

Interference need not come from hobbyists, incidentally. Collusion is also interference in the market.

That should keep the topic off the page for at least 15 minutes.  

I agree completely, the topic is not that complicated and is beaten to death too often.  As are a handfull of others.  "Is BBJ safe?", "How much should I tip?", "Has anyone fallen for a provider?, etc.

Whenever I see an Amnisty Week for posts I keep hoping maybe there will be a Banned Topic Week occasionally.  Not really, and it would have little effect if it did, but sometimes I wonder if people ever read the recent threads before posting the third variation of the same issue in the last five threads.
