Last I checked, the job is to keep the board active within acceptable tolerances.  I don't recall holding court being in the job description.  Not sure what post you're referring to since you have 2 posts this week and both are approved and on this thread.

Just curious what you'd think about a moderator that was a lawyer?

For the rest of today, anyone posting on a particular board who is not a complete asshat will be unmoderated.  I'm just not going to tell you which board it is.  I'll pick a different board each day until I lose interest.

Someone who gets their jollies by holding court over someone else's thoughts or opinions?  If your opinion does not agree with the company line then your posts never see the light of day?  Happened to me here.  

You know, after some thought, maybe I should have put them below the lawyers.  At least lawyers are educated.  Now I am laughing...

Did I specifically mention your name nimrod or are you just feeling guilty?  Trust me, if I have something to direct towards you, you will know it.  Just so you with the cute little red lettered name will know, the high and mighty ter moderator that I was referring to is no longer around but he was a prick of the first order.

And to answer your question, it would not happen. A lawyer would never stoop so low as to be a moderator.  A mediator perhaps but never a moderator.

methods like this don't do much for showing  the boards have integrity behind them or showing that moderating is serious, reasonable, fair and impartial.

It makes it seem like its all one big joke, IMHO.

The mods could put out a boring message to members that they are able to be unmoderated upon request if they qualify OR they can try to make it fun.  I, for one, appreciate the effort to make it fun.

But fun was a NCNS for you a long time ago, wasn't it.

Ohio.  Set a few people free and none that didn't deserve it.  Hopefully it will spark a little life into one of the newest boards.  For those people still in no-city limbo, the most recent boards need to succeed in order to make the argument that we need more.  I need to pick today's place.
