her and her selfishness did to her own kids.  Must be the pill's fault!
Let's look back at what the pill really did.  Up until Mid 1960 the pill was illegal in this country.  Then it was made legal, but only for married women, and only after counselling.
The call to arms came out during the 60's, and the pill became widely popular.  Women were free to express themselves sexually for the first time with much less frar of pregnancy.  And remember, there was no HIV/Aids in this country then.  It didn't turn the women into a herd of lowlife, promiscuous sluts.  Backstreet abortions were cut in 1/2.  Yes it opened the door to the sexual revolution of the late 60's and 70's, but I didn't then or do I now see that as a bad thing.
Don't let the preachings of a self indulgent, old whore make you think the world has gone to shit because of our total moral lapse sexually.  It went to hell because of the total moral lapse of greedy business men.
Poor Rachel fucked up her own life and looks back and preaches to others on the evils of sex.
She is no role model, she's an aging sex goddess who can't stand to see the limelight fade.

The recent parade of praise for The Pill wasn't unanimous. Surprisingly, Raquel Welch, one of the hottest sex symbols of the 1970s, confessed in a commentary on CNN.com that she's been married four times, but she believes that too many women are too willing to "hook up" casually, since contraceptives make it "safe" to play the field:

One significant, and enduring, effect of The Pill on female sexual attitudes during the 60's, was: "Now we can have sex anytime we want, without the consequences. Hallelujah, let's party!"

It remains this way. These days, nobody seems able to "keep it in their pants" or honor a commitment! Raising the question: Is marriage still a viable option? I'm ashamed to admit that I myself have been married four times, and yet I still feel that it is the cornerstone of civilization, an essential institution that stabilizes society, provides a sanctuary for children and saves us from anarchy.

In stark contrast, a lack of sexual inhibitions, or as some call it, "sexual freedom," has taken the caution and discernment out of choosing a sexual partner, which used to be the equivalent of choosing a life partner. Without a commitment, the trust and loyalty between couples of childbearing age is missing, and obviously leads to incidents of infidelity. No one seems immune.

As a result of the example set by their elders, by the 1990s teenage sexual promiscuity -- or hooking up -- with multiple partners had become a common occurrence. Many of my friends who were parents of teenagers sat in stunned silence several years ago when it came to light that oral sex had become a popular practice among adolescent girls in middle schools across the country.

The 13-year-old daughter of one such friend freely admitted to performing fellatio on several boys at school on a regular basis. "Aw come on, Mom. It's no big deal. Everyone is doing it," she said. Apparently, since it's not the act of intercourse, kids don't count it as sex. Can any sane person fail to make a judgment call about that?

Seriously, folks, if an aging sex symbol like me starts waving the red flag of caution over how low moral standards have plummeted, you know it's gotta be pretty bad. In fact, it's precisely because of the sexy image I've had that it's important for me to speak up and say: Come on girls! Time to pull up our socks! We're capable of so much better.

but he claims there isn't a "completely disagree with the poster" field to disapprove it with. So the post got approved. lol

and to think that my favorite sex symbol of all time is talking like such a prude. Pkease say it isn't so.

As to the OP, I don't really give a fuck what he thinks, but Raquel Welch. She looks good to this day, and like my brother I usually won't give a woman over thirty a second glance, much less a woman about to turn 70.

Nephew, let me tell you something. From as far back as 1 million BC, Raquel Welch has been the penultimate poster girl. I was 13 the first time she spanked my monkey. She can still spank it anytime she wants to.

If only it were really her, and not my five fingered substitute!

However... uh... parading marriage as an institution that stabilizes society, provides sanctuary for children and saves us from anarchy?  Hm.

Society is no more stable than it ever was, atrocities on large scale happen all around the world on a (daily?) regular basis, children are most often subject to abuse at the hands of their "loving" parents, who were subject to abuse at the hands of their own "loving" parents, and there were many peaceful heathen tribes long before the C(capitol C)hurch stepped in to approve or disprove of who could own which women.  Oh yeah, marriage was never from the get go about love and stable families, nor in the interest of society other than as it would benefit those who had the means to buy the legal ties to political and financial riches.

If anyone thinks that there are no consequences to intercourse they really need to get their heads out of the sand.  Hello, AIDS?  HPV and cervical cancer?  Pregnancy?

INFANTS masturbate.  Adults need to come to grips with the sexual nature of even the very young and create open conversation and education long before 13, ok?  How long were those surprised parents going to wait?  At least in your own story of oral sex, the gals weren't getting knocked up... an unfortunate situation for too many young girls.

My own sex-ed at home consisted of mom saying, "I don't like it" when she found my birth control pills.  Yeah, I was 13.  At least I was a RESPONSIBLE 13 year old using both condoms and pills...

Morality is taught by example and expectation.  If you feel that it is slipping, maybe become a Big Brother or YMCA/YWCA volunteer and try to work directly to stop-gap some of the places parents are woefully missing.
