Did you just mention MOODS? That is soooooooooo very true! Anyone that says that they don't sometimes make decissions based on what mood they are in at the moment is a liar! lol
I have been known to have a lady in mind that I want to call and set an appointment with, when I actually sit down to make the call, my mood has changed and I call someone entirely differnt.
I sometimes wonder if it is that mood change that actually affects the actual appointment and review.
this will probably get as much hostility as the post regarding flaking on hagglers but i can handle that.
yes this is a business but its not quite the same as selling a car.
here's the scenario.
12pm: caller #1 calls and confirms he wants to meet at 3pm. he's an unknown but gave screening info and set up the appt a few days ago.
2pm: caller #2 calls and he's a favorite regular with a small opening in his day.. he wants to come over at 3pm... and no he cant make it later.
what do we do ?
scenario 2, same set up, change a few factors
caller#1 is an unknown and haggles.
caller#2 is an unknown who doesnt haggle.
both screen ok
what do we do ?
scenario 3,
caller #1 is a unknown, doesnt haggle
caller #2 also unknown, doesnt haggle but more charming on the phone (i might take him depending on screening info)
and in a 3 hour period of time, we rarely have just 2 calling, its normally about 8-10 callers we're going to have to decide between.
i dont know if a phone call at 2:15pm to cancel our 3pm is flaking or not ???????
if it is, i've been guilty... .because sometimes i'm going to see #2 even though i know its the wrong thing to do and unfair to caller #1. ..some days i might do the right thing, other days i might not.
i'll always call #1 and offer a later option or cancel altogether if i think caller #2 is going to tire me out but at that point, most likely caller #1 has already been inconvenienced in some way.
so for all the guys who are wondering about whether or not i would flake on a haggler.... my reasons for flaking may be different but i am still guilty all the same.
hopefully making the phone call to cancel (even though it may be late in the game) keeps me from being burned at the stake... i know that cancelled, flaked or shuffled appointments are one of the biggest hassles guys face in the hobby.. im hoping this helps you understand how and why it may happen so you can minimize the number of times it happens to you. if you want to be rude or cheap or weird, then fine but understand some of us are horrible businesswomen and we might play favorites if given the option.
to the women who always keep the commitment to caller #1 -- i'm honored to be amongst such perfection.
but it was kinda like a math word problem and it gave me a little bit of a headache.
First I want to say that I have never haggled, so I hopefully have never been looked at as caller!
Have you ever cancelled caller one and had a no show from caller two and wanted to call caller one back?
Just curious if you ever been burned cancelling for what you THOUGHT would be a more reliable caller/client.
-- Modified on 3/25/2008 2:05:07 AM
im so sure.
but all is not lost.
remember the cancelling phone call to caller #1 ? i'm going to ask him if he wants me to call him back if something changes. so all might not be lost.
i hate when i make the wrong choices it can be a very frustrating day.. this can go on literally all day. ...then there are others when i'm able to successfully juggle 2 or even 3 that looked impossible but shuffled themselves nicely into place.
i think because guys expect us to flake out and we expect them to flake out, we sort of create a catch 22.. both sides trying to make sure they got a backup plan in case of flaking and then flaking on our backup or vice versa. ... i tried to find out reasons guys flake but most of the ones that answered dont flake so i still dont know but i had heard a girl say she had over 30 flakes in less than a month and i thought that was really excessive.
starting out in this biz, i had a strong biz ethic from my prior career and i felt obligated to keep caller #1 but it doesnt take long to learn that sometimes that is just not practical.
other times, i could be in the mood for fresh meat and more willing to risk caller #1.
mood is just as much a determining factor as the bottom line in this biz and i think thats what makes it so unpredictable and difficult to understand.

This statement made my little pee pee quiver:
"other times, i could be in the mood for fresh meat . . . "

somedays it seems everybody is only available when I don't have the time, already have a client booked in that time they want. It always works out though...
great insight into the providers world for this newbie, didn't realize a provider had so many ( 8-10) guys to choose from over such a short peroid of time ( 3 hours)
thanks
Nearly a 6 in feisty.
LOL - yup as a 6/7 6/7 maybe guy one chose someone else and ended up much happier...LOL...
Ana - you empirically articulate one of the basic rules of business, known as the 80-20 rule (aka The Pareto Principle). 80% of your profits (by whatever metric - orgasmic, emotional, financial, etc.) will be coming from just 20% of your customers. The other 20% may be fine, but just aren't as good a match for the business relationship.
In recent years rule this has been updated as the 80-20-10 rule, adding a nuance to recognize that while 20% of your customer will generate 80% of your profits, a small subset of customers will waste a significant amount of your resources (dont pay, flake on time, abusive, etc.). Screening and identifying these 'nuisance' customers - and weeding them out of your life - is well worth the time and effort.
This rule is what creates the 'premium customer' programs - the Hertz Gold Member, the '1K Premium Flyer', etc. - and is the reason calls to customer service are now answered by computers.
So what do do from the 'customer' perspective? Personally, I don't harp the situations where it just wasn't a good fit for us both - better to recognize that early and we both move on to more profitable endeavors. But when the match is good and the lady treats me like a valued customer, I recognize and reward that service and foster ways to strengthen the relationship as a Win-Win for us both.
-- Deep 'Always wants to be a Gold Member' Heat
I know that my regular ladies do and I really don't blame them. Of course, being a long term regular I benefit quite often from blatant favoritism so I'm not gonna complain.
Money talks and a sure thing is always better than a possible no show. Also, as much as some will try to compare escorting to other service oriented industries it is really is not quite the same. There is a comfort factor with a regular that won't exist with a new customer, at least not at first.
I don't haggle, I'm not weird and I see mostly my regular ladies. Still, I've been canceled on. I rarely fall for the "family emergency" excuse and just assume that the lady had a chance to take a more lucrative booking. As long as I'm not in my car on the way to the appointment I'm cool with it.
Last year I was working in NYC and had an out call scheduled with my UTR South Jersey lady. She called me the morning of with a quandry. A new guy had been trying to set up a four hour dinner date with her for about a month and that night was the only night he was available. I told her to go ahead and take the booking and that we could do our thing later in the week. She's a good lady with a kid to support and I didn't want her to lose out on a very lucrative appointment. She thanked me hung up. An hour later she called me back and asked if I still wanted to see her that night. Seems the new guy had started trying to negotiate the rate and also started asking her some very explicit questions about what services would be offered during the sex part of the date. She decided during the conversation that this guy wasn't worth the aggravation. Her exact words to me were "with you, I know I am going to have a good time".
they find themselves constantly disappointed because they would rather listen to some girl tell them how she will treat him like a king and look down upon a girl who is good enough to show her flaws.
i dont feel a need to pretend to be better than what i am.
i always ask a guy to tell me about himself and then wait to see if they list all attributes or if they admit having a flaw.
its the difference between confidence and arrogance.
but I thank you for your candor and for also sharing with us clients the inner workings of these decisions.
Being a bad businesswoman. Our comfort and safety should always come first in this business.
Would seem to be obvious...they should get priority under most circumstances, especially if they call a day or more in advance, unless you want to get rid of them. But, to the point, I would expect that if you have made a prior commitment to someone else before I contacted you, that you would see if my schedule was flexible enough to see me at a more favorable time for you. If so, great for us both; if not, you have a decision to make. And if I am the returning regular who gets phased out...I may not be a returning regular next time you visit town. There are many factors that have be taken into account in your shoes...and it's ultimately your decision...
1) She's a horrible business woman, which she obviously is,
2) She feels we're here for her.
If I lived in the PHX area I guess I'd have to dip to the bottom of the barrel and make due with all the "hags" at Mystique, Dessert Divas, etc. (I have asked for "early bird" specials with agencies as well as indy's.) These "hags" only get 9/9's 9/10's 10/10's, with get this, NO ATTITUDE or emotional resentment. Our loss guys!
PS Maybe Ana can take a crash course with Piper.
With the Xtra pounds she's packing, I would not have seen her anyway. Clearly she is a sleazy businesswoman, with bad work ethics, and no scruples. Her mouth is almost as large as she is.

i couldnt find mystique in the database so not sure if they have their reviews under a different name maybe ?
-- Modified on 3/25/2008 10:45:26 AM
you don't know of mystique in phx??? I don't even live there and know of them very well. Probably the largest and best run agencies in PHX. Piper used to work for them.
I just experienced this same senerio.
Caller number 1 new guy, good refs, 2 hours away 2 hour appt. Tuesday 8pm Answered an older ad with a discount 450
Caller number 2 Closer to where I am at the moment. Tuesday 730-pm no discount applies, 2 hours 550
Caller number 3 regular snuggly bear, love to play with him, always sweet, always funny always engaging and HOT in the sack.
2 hours 550.
I emailed caller number 1 and asked him if his dates were flexible.
He said no.
I told him i would see what I could do.
AKA see if someone else is flexible.
Caller number 2 was flexible.
I call back caller number 1 to let him know that
I had arranged my schedule to see him.
I never canceled, I only asked him if he was flexible.
Caller Number 1, says, " My plans changed, I won't be needing to see you anymore."
Caller number 1 Canceled.
So with Caller number 2 being flexible and Caller number 3 staying the same.
It all worked out fine.
So here I picked Caller number 1, an out of towner who I would probably never have seen again and he canceled on me.
There you have it folks, sometimes you win and sometimes you don't.
It is just nice to let people know in advance.

actually ana, i can't relate to these sort of situations at ALL. reading through the scenarios has shown me just how drastically different my "style" is from most providers.
the first scenario:
"12pm: caller #1 calls and confirms he wants to meet at 3pm. he's an unknown but gave screening info and set up the appt a few days ago.
2pm: caller #2 calls and he's a favorite regular with a small opening in his day.. he wants to come over at 3pm... and no he cant make it later.
what do we do ?"
caller no. 1 would not exist. first, the only gents who can actually call me are those i've actually met before and like. total unknowns can only contact me through email. secondly, i would never set up an appointment with an unknown just through some screening info...we would have to had at least a couple of lengthy phone conversations to get to know each other and determine compatibility, and if all went well MAYBE a date would be set up sometime down the road. and lastly, if a date would be made, it would be done between several days and a couple of weeks in advance, and i'd set it in stone.
so if a regular, even one i really loved, called up on that particular day trying to come by, i'd just have to say i wasn't available, unless they happened to want a time 3 hours or more apart from the first-timer.
as far as the other scenario, i've never called to cancel a date at the last minute (which within an hour or two would be in my book). i also would never decide to meet a total stranger based solely on one phone call. i'm looking for certain kinds of men, men who genuinely need and desire the things that i have to offer and who i can feel comfortable with. this means that of the men who contact me, only 2% get a reply and of those less than half end up being people i actually meet. not the way to run a business, but that's not what i'm here to do.
Every girl is entitled to run her business the way she wants, so I am not going to criticize your system.
I don't know what kind of clients you cater to in your area, but where I work I don't have any of what you call "hagglers".
The men I see are all nice, polite, educated who respects me and the way I conduct my business. I respect them and, sorry to say, I would never call them names on a public board.
I love my regulars...but I also love the thrill to meet new guys.
I am always honest with my clients and I try to accommodate their requests, even if they are last minute deals.
If I have an appointment with a regular and a new guy wants the same time frame, I simply tell him one of my favorite guys have the spot and he can either pick another time that day or give me his name & number so I can call him in case my client cannot make it for any reason.
If I have an appointment with a new guy and my regulars call me for the same spot I will, definitely, try to fit him in.
Usually, I leave enough time between appointments to have the ability to "fit" one of my regulars if they call me at the last minute.
Of course, I let them know I will have to squeeze their appointment "in" and I might not be able to do a full hour and I offer a half hour deal.
Most of the time, my regulars are happy I can do a "quickie half" and they understand - and respect - my limits in time and services as well.
Even if I fit a regular between appointments, I will never let my next guy suffer the consequences of an overlap can bring.
I still have plenty of time before his arrival to shower, change sheets, clean my room and feel rested for his session with me.
Is all in the planning and knowing the pattern of your regular clients habits.
I am aim to please my clients, no matter if they are regulars or not. The quality of my services is equal to all.
-- Modified on 3/25/2008 6:24:04 AM
i cant say that everyone gets equal service. they just dont.
i find that the girls i know with an so tend to be able to make better business decisions. my business is my personal life so sometimes i make personal decisions instead of business ones.
i find that when i do, it ends up being good for business in the long run anyway cuz when im into a guy he'll stay with me year and year.
i dont want to be a good business woman, i want to be happy.
its selfish.
Thanks, Ana, for your honesty and for clarifying what sorts of dilemas a provider has to deal with. I'm certain you are not the only one who makes her decisions out of personal need.
I know I am a rare person not only in life, but particularly in this industry. I live my life by the “golden rule”.
It cost me tens of thousands of dollars in lost revenue every year, but I can sleep soundly at night knowing I provide a great service at a fair rate and have treated everyone with respect.
For me, being a low volume lady has its advantages. I plan my appointments in advance. I usually know what my week looks like and plan my life accordingly. I have a balanced, grounded and full life! I turn down many more appointments than I see. I feel I am a better provider to my client’s because I have other outside activities and interest in my life and don’t sit around in lingerie all day waiting for the phone to ring. This type of attitude on my part usually draws in a different type of client too. They aren’t looking for a quickie that can be fulfilled by just any body. “We reap what we sew”.
My thought is your favorite is going to be there for you and return, hopefully many times. Although, that could change in a heart beat too. We don’t own our client’s! We need to always have new clients in our business to keep the client flow rolling.
I'm very good to my returning friends! But I have to turn them away too when they want to see me spur of the moment. In the long run, I think they appreciate me more and find me more alluring when I have to turn them down!
Honestly, in six years of doing business, I have done this twice. The guilt of “snubbing” was too hard for me to deal with. It really did bother me!
And how do you not know this new person you just snubbed may not become your next new favorite?
Related Link: http://www.lizinnm.com
I also do not sit by the phone waiting for calls, scheduling my week in advance as often as not. I keep a very light schedule so tend to turn away many requests even if I am "available."
An agreement is an agreement. There was one time when I asked a favorite regular to shuffle his meeting with me to accommodate a visitor who wanted to celebrate his birthday - and I was no showed. Never again.
I think a reputation of professionalism and reliability goes nearly as far as providing excellent service... and all combined is what most gentlemen are looking for!
"And how do you not know this new person you just snubbed may not become your next new favorite? "
I've many times decided that I would stop seeing new friends... only to be surprised by the fantastic people that walked through my door. Those favorites gotta' come from somewhere!
“An agreement is an agreement. There was one time when I asked a favorite regular to shuffle his meeting with me to accommodate a visitor who wanted to celebrate his birthday - and I was no showed. “
I was once asked by one of my ATF ladies a day or two before our schedule meeting to shuffle our meeting to accommodate a request of another hobbyist. She was upfront about the reason and that was a class act. As a result I never thought of it as broken agreement.
Although I have had to cancel appointments at the last minute for various reasons, I have never cancelled on someone because a better 'gig' came along. I don't consider that to be rare or unusual, just sensible and respectful.
As to the scenarios wondering about who to see if guy #1 haggled the price and guy #2 didn't, this question doesn't apply to me. When a gentleman inquires about a lower donation, I politely tell him that I do not lower my rates, and wish him a good day before hanging up, or if it was in an e-mail, I simply delete it. So there would never be an appointment to debate about whether I should cancel or not.
There. I blew my horn. Have a good day all ![]()
unlike a lot of girls, i know you'd admit it
but you need to remember im a very lucky girl to have clients that make me want to drop everything for them.
i wont hate you for being perfect if you dont hate me for being lucky... LOL.
person with great common sense. Anna should take lessons from you as well Liz. Wish I lived closer...
This post is similar to the other one about haggling but -
Senario 1 - as much as I'd love to take my regular, I'd honor #1 and try to reschedule #2.
Senario 2 - as I said before, I don't deal with hagglers.
Senario 3 - I'd ask both if they can reschedule.
But I don't work the phone so I don't get these situations very often.
continue to maintain my low- volume status. I'd lose my mind trying to juggle schedules like that!
When I set up appts., I take care to make sure it's something I can realistically make without having to hit every car along the way on the freeway to get out of class and arrive on time and that it's something I want to do. If I'm not enthused, I may as well cancel because it won't be fireworks with that attitude.
As for playing favorites, if two people request the same day and have emailed me at the same time, I do typically take a regular favorite guy over a newbie because I know I'll have a fun and relaxing time with the favorite. However, when people are emailing me, it's not generally a now or never situation. They know I have a busy life as it is and this is just some fun playtime in between.
Katie
i tried but they didnt cooperate.
i admire anyone who can handle advance scheduling their sex life but i like to work when the mood strikes me.
By God, I guess I do! haha. However, I sleep with fewer hobbyists than I do the guys I date at school. I work very infrequently, despite the amount of offers I get, which I couldn't possibly see with school, my social life and my family. I'd need to see like 20 people a day every day and that's not appealing to me. This is just a little extra fun for a little extra slush fund to supplement my scholarship, so I see my appts. as nice little fun adventures, really.
Katie
because we're horny all the time.
There is a lot to be said for the ability to schedule and stick to an appointment and all, but there's something to be said for spontaneity too.
Gals like you Anna may drive us schedule driven types crazy; but then again, you do drive us crazy.
I treat this business like I would any other business. First come, first serve. I grew up with the notion that if you make an appointment (promise) you don't cancel, even if something better comes along. I also do this in my personal life. Now, if I got asked to go on a fully-paid for vacation by someone else which happens to conflict with an outing with a friend that is just casual, I would call my friend and explain and she what she says. This hasn't happened to me yet, but like I said, "I always honor my first commitment." That doesn't mean I put other people down for doing the opposite, but when it affects my time it affects my life.
Hugs,
Ciara
lady as well as a great GFE. If I was in Phoenix, I'd see Ciara again and not sure I'd give the time of day to Anna.
A positive attitude is necessary to having a good time despite the quality of one's love making skills. Be safe Ciara.
No wonder...that's not flaking. That's "how-the-heck-can-I-keep-it-all-straight"
Knowing that I forgive you all.
In all honesty haggling is fruitless effort for a hobbyiest in that all the control of the date with with the provider and YMMV is the result of variance's in delivery.
For this guy, If i don't like the price I just don't call. Sure the provider might be posting rates that off the charts or based on "wishful" thinking but thats her insanity if she prices off the market.
We see this a lot in SoFla with girls using different names for different ad venues and different rates ... all in the attempt to get the highest fee the traffic will bear. They may snag a few horny guys down on business, but they can't make living year round on that type client. Most have to either travel on in a few weeks or they have to develop a year round clients and that "regular" hobbyist doesn't pay resort rates.
So i as well as hundreds like me just pass the sucker rates by and wait.
The interesting issues in this thread deal with more than rate. The idea of canceling a new client for a repeat customer who calls on short notice, or for a second caller who sounds more cool, is just bad business and a short sighted act. Providers have a business and they have to protect the reputation that goes with the picture. A provider in SoFla that frequently cancels without notice or just no shows is called out and quickly get a dry hole in this market.
Hobbyist will tolerate a lot, but disappoint on a no show from a provider is tough to get past.
IMHO
Muff
I don't think I've ever canceled on one client because a "better" offer came along. However, I don't make dates with guys who haggle.
I would say that if you pushed for a discount on a woman's arrangements....you should expect some discount on her service. Part of that is realizing that you won't be her priority.
I give (genorous) guys whom I love first choices on my calendar, greater flexibility if I happen to be free at the last minute, and a little more "give" in exactly how long a date lasts. I might also give them little gifts or send them an email just to say I'm thinking of them. Occasionally I'll even cancel a personal commitment...however, I won't cancel a date to suit another client. That's a personal choice for me, and it reflects how few men I see.

im not a bad business woman. i'm not a business woman at all.
this isnt a business to me..
its my way of life
i believe the one who has the most fun wins
