get married. ;-)

The other clients they probably
just walk away from. Wouldn't that
be best?

I am a retired escort ( though I still dabble it in from time to time)

I had to get out because the man who was my boyfriend at the time ( husband now) gave me an ultimatum, him or my job...so I choose him, its not always an easy choice, I had to give up a lot of good sex for boring monogamy, plus a pretty good living.

Now I am poorer then ever, and adultery as replaced escorting...the way I see it, as long as I have other lovers...it wouldn't hurt if they could throw me a little cash...unfortunately, hubby dosn't see it that way...

I think when I leave I will make an announcement, but not till like 2-3 weeks before...

some prefer to leave and then come back later and if they leave quietly then they are a little better received if they do come back than if they made it a big deal...

I knew this lady that put a time frame on when she wanted out. But her recent antics and other actions make me think she's burning her bridges awfully quick.

She doesn't post anymore because of a recent episode. Actually, it'll be kinda interesting when she shows her 'face' and see the responses she gets.

You'd think it would be business as usual, then just drop off the face of the earth, never to be heard from again. But that makes too much sense, I guess.

So, ladies, what do you think? When you're ready to put away your shingle, you gonna go away without a word to anyone? Or are you gonna raise hell?

Just curious....

Now I'm intrigued. You retired, but you didn't. Why?

some may retire respectfully and then decide for what ever reason in life to come back in the hobby. ~ thats the great thing about working for yourself... you can change your mind whenever you like. :)

I could be wrong, but it sounds like she left for money and stability. She got bored and, sounds like she will be on her own again soon...for better or worse. LOL

To me, I've been told this is a job. It's a means to an end. I know there are ladies that like variety, just as much as the guys. Nothing wrong with that.

But I also know there is a certain 'shelf life' as far as ladies are concerned. Most realize this, some don't.

So what I'm saying is, when do the ladies know when it's time?

You find a man that cares for you and will take care of you, or you have a civvie job and don't have to put up with the bullshit of 'dating' for a profession.

For instance. There's a lady I wanted to see in Vegas. Her name was Kalia Kai. Gorgeous little Thai girl. She just vanished. Poof. No one knows what happened, and I'm assuming that's the way she wanted it.

So, my original point was, when do you realize this ain't for you anymore, and the way you go about it?

I'm not throwing stones, I'm just saying. You'd think, seeing the seedier side of things, and make a conscientious decision, you'd want to work harder at it.

Sounds like she regrets making her decision, and that's fine. We all do it everyday.

But the magnitude is dependant on the factors she proclaimed. Same shit, different day, basically.

I'm just curious to EVERYONE'S thoughts on the subject.

It's early, so let's see what transpires....

My guess is based on the principle that "it takes all kinds."  Meaning there are all kinds of reasons people get into this business, stay in this business and leave this business.  So you may, or may not, get any answers from providers, but if you do they'll be all over the place.  It's just human nature.  Personally, I love the ones who are in the business because, yes, they like the money, but they also dig the life.  They're ones who become somebody's ATF.

I think the classier way to retire...quietly fade away, announce 2-3 weeks ahead of time, but don't make a big production, if you want to notify your regulars, you can send out a mass email to them...but, no need for a big production.

But, I do agree with MP67, dangerous to burn bridges in any profession (especially this one).  As someone says later down, Hobbyists have a longer shelf life -- not inconceivable if the Provider left some burned bridges before she left, and she decides to return at some point, those "burned" are still going to be around.

I feel bad for your husband, monogamy may not work for all couples but a relationship that requires you to be dishonest with your SO is headed for trouble.  You said you still dabble and were given an ultimatum so I can only assume your not being totally honest with your hubby.  IMHO,

I married my husband, because I love him, he's my best friend, but I've got an extremely high sex drive which he can't always keep up with. There is a big different in our ages, he is 55, I am 26. Right now we are working on having an open relationship which I think is ideal for someone like me, I was raised by two French parents and married to a Frenchman, they tend to be a little more accepting of adultery.

I didn't marry him for security or wealth since he's a photographer and dosn't make much, he actually used to do photography for escorts when we lived in LA.

I probably do have commitment issues and will always have them, and getting married was a huge thing for me, but at the end of the day, I love that man to death.

To me, sex and love are completely different thing, while sex may compliment love, you can also have sex without love.

Fuck, I'm not married, never have been. And I love a lot of ladies. Doesn't mean I should marry any of them because we're best friends or because I have a high sex drive.

BTW, I'm 43 and can appreciate a lady of your age.

But you're right. You have commitment issues, and sex and love are two different things. Obviously, that's why we're all here.

...had other things on his/her mind besides 'how' to retire.  They just move on.

Some have gotten into serious relationships and just felt like quitting.  A couple have gotten married and didn't feel it was appropriate to continue.  Several met their financial goals and went on to school or start a business or whatever.  Three finished school and moved on to a 'real' job.  One got too old and became a bartender.  One started her own brothel.

Kurt is kind of the flavor of the week, he's one of these guys I have a passionate romance with and then *poof* its over, with these men, it's just about sex and fun, nothing serious. My view is true adultery is when you start having feelings for the other person and start to fall in love. That's why seeing an escort is not adultery.

I grew up with a father who had one affair after another, so thats probably where my unwillingness to commit comes from. Right now I am actually in marriage purgatory since my husband wanted to separate for a month to think.

You know what's going to happen, right? You give someone enough time to think about shit, they'll think the grass is greener on the other side.

Isn't always true, but they have to find out for themselves.

Hope it works out for you, one way or the other.

Peace, lady.
