OK. We all monger here. I am trying to get away from the word "hobby". Hobby was when you were 10 and collected stamps..  Anyways, so we all see prostitutes for sex. But how do you conduct yourself outside of this world on day to day basis ?  I am not talking about going around and telling everyone that you just fucked a hooker last night, but are your views on prostitution in line with your activities in this world?

Do you ever bring it up as a social issue when you talk about it to your family and friends?  I personally don't hide my views on prostitution and marijuana when it comes to friends and family.  I have never smoked POT, but I of course see hookers, and while my friends would not know the details of my life, they are aware of my views on it as social issues.

How about you? Whatever your views you may hold, do you let them known to people in your sphere of influence, or do you feel awkward and guilty talking about the same...

I don't mind the term Hobby so much, but I really don't like the term Whore.

In my social life if someone were to ask I tell them I think prostitution should be legalized, however in reality I like things just the way they are now. I don't want my name available whenever somone wanted to go through any public records.

I work in the public eye and could in no way be associated with what I do here, it would be grounds for termination.

As far as weed goes I really do think it should be legalized. It does far less damage to the body than alcohol does. New synthetic drugs hitting the streets are VERY dangerous, and the long term effects are unknown. Trust me I see people dying from this crap every week.

So I guess some things I lie about and some are the truth. Good question, I guess my moral ground isn't that high. Much like the city of New Orleans it could even be below sea level...

I will tell you that... Thanks for honest response...

As long as what you are doing isn't harming anyone else you are free to do as you please. This business is between consenting adults and as such should be legal. I think in many areas Americans are the biggest bunch of hypocrites in the world. We preach freedom yet stick our noses in other countries problems. We have a long running drug war that is a complete failure and has led us o the point where we have the highest incarceration rate in the world. I could go on.....

Golf is a hobby, fishing is a hobby, Chess is a hobby...all participated in by adults. I don't really care what you want to call it but you should know that most of us who have been at this for a while consider "mongering" to be the lower end of the "Hobby" lol...

Anyway...

While I don't go out of my way to bring up the topic of prostitution I say my peace when the topic comes up.  To me it is and always will be primarily a victimless crime that should not be a crime at all.  The problem with discussing all of this with folks on the outside of "the hobby" is that most of them only know what they see on the television news or sensationalized MSNBC exposes.  It's either over-glamorized or all of the women involved are marginalized as either being drug addicts or victims of human trafficking. Real information about the vast majority of women who work as escorts is not out there.  Honestly, I still think that the less the hobby is talked about in the media the better.  The vast majority of folks will always be judgmental on the topic and most of the ladies I know who are involved in this have become quite good at leading a double life and reaping the benefits of the job with no one being the wiser.

I am the same person in and out of the hobby. Fat, ugly, opinionated, and all the rest of what makes me me. Why would I change I like hobby me and everyday me.

I am out. My wife knows, my whole family except my son. My housekeeper and my personal assistant know as well. And they know about my wife as well knows about my wife's providing. True it is because my cousin found out and outed us but everyone knows. Being outed was the best thing that could have happened as I hated hiding. As my views go I am very pr legalization ad everyone that knows me knows it. I even had a few talks to no avail with a few state congressmen on the issue. Why hide what I feel about a political issue?

Yes I do.

Don't have a strong opinion on marijuana, but very open about prostitution.

i always treat it as an alternate universe..when i am at work or with family i rarely think about it..when i want to 'hobby' nothing else matters..there is a time to play..and a time to work..focusing on each one individually produces better results and less mind clutter..prostitution will be here for ever..i will never have any qualms or guilt trips about it..i have never smoked POT either..so i truly do not know its effects..to me it is like booze..take it in moderation..when you harm yourself or others..it should be regulated..

about this life, because it is really none of anyone's business. I don't bring up those "dirty whores" when out with my friends who would never dream of doing it, but at the same time I don't brag about how proud I am of it either, and then put down others who don't see the honor in it. Being a hooker is not my life's goal nor something I could see myself doing at 35-40, but that is only because I have been in the biz for a while. I doubt I could charge what I do in 10 years, and have no desire to increase volume because of that. For many women here, this is a part of who they are in real life...I can't say the same.

Also, you must consider that the guy paying a hooker is much easier forgiven than the hooker that is being paid. You guys are given a slap on the wrist whilst the woman is branded with a scarlet letter. If I had to say the phrase I have heard more than any other since I have been here, it's that I should not be here. I don't take that as an insult in the least.

Dear Ms. Rayne:
I was wondering although you are going to school and working in another job that is totally unrelated to the adult companionship genre, could you see yourself in ten years if you had to running an agency or being an adult companionship consultant for those who have looked up to you over the years since there wouldn't be any formal internships? Just wondering if you would consider staying in the industry in a limited capacity such as that.

Hooking is most often a misdemeanor...a slap and see ya later.

Pimping becomes a felony...and now, if the pimp is busted, (s)he has a much different story to tell her kids/grandkids.

And the connotation others will perceive might be even more skewed to "shock".

Hopefully LR and all the gals are "smart" enough to sock as much away as possible and get out of this gig without a blemish.

But fear not...new ones are always getting in the game to take their places  LOL

I would not post on hooker boards all day like I do now, and I am not "in school" anymore btw. I don't see how one can make a clean break with a life they want no part of anymore if they are still in it, so if I do decide to get married AGAIN lol, I will not bring any of this into that new life. There is simply no need.

Let's hope you don't get remarried before we get the chance to meet.

I'm glad that you wouldn't bring any of this into your new life once you do marry again.

That isolation...the feeling of loneliness...the "dirty" that others thrust upon many gals.

I have had that conversation with many...including YOU.  Honestly, it bothers me in many respects.  But all I can do is listen, and offer a friendly shoulder or ear.

It has been difficult to see some gals have their worlds torn apart when their families, especially with younger (or not so young) kids find out what Mom was doing to pay the rent.

So yea...I get it.

No worries to either of you...London has another year or two in her before she disappears. Yes, it is about much isolation but not really. I just don't ever feel the need to bring up what I do on the side, because most of my friends would never in a million years think I would do it. They assume like most of you, that I would be too much of a bitch to ever let someone else call the shots even for a few hundred bucks lol. I think they are right in a sense.

I can say this...if the day comes when I have to be a suck ass to get anyone to notice me, it's bye freaking bye. If the decent looks and killer bj skills fade, I am done for in provider world bwahahahaha. Lord knows, I can't fk or be nice for too long without being in pain from both. :)

And that's due to my personal and professional involvement with many of the gals here.

What I have an issue with are those that need to use phrases and words that disguise who we see and what we are indeed doing.

While I have the utmost respect for the ladies with this profession here...I take umbrage to the use of the phrases some here use...as well as the guys.  And I am quite outspoken on this...and will continue to do so.

As far as my personal life...I make no apologies for the gals I represent.  They are for the most part hard working moms and grandmas who are trying to make a life for themselves and their families.  When my peers broach the topics...I have NO issues in defending this lifestyle (on either side).  And I have used many of my peers and associates to assist my clients (that would be hookers for you laymen) in securing their futures.

What many here do is place the women (and men) in some sort of cubicle...and that is so wrong on so many levels.  So discussing and debating this world with those who are not involved, I find it a debate similar to the way I tend to "debate" on these boards.  Show me your POV and I'm all ears.  Babble nonsense and bullshit...and I'll be sure and let you know my POV.  And FWIW...I'm a relentless advocate for those I believe in.

Hobby...client...hooker...john...  I just had this little diatribe this AM with one of my favorite gals.  Words...but the intent is what I look for.  Others not in this world...they see only bad things with hooker/john.

I can't change opinions...simply try and understand and discuss.

And absolutely never feel awkward discussing this...with anyone  :D

Keep in mind, that I am a very different breed of hobbyist.
Younger, not married or connected to any woman.
Everyone close to me knows what I do. Many do not believe me.
They don't know details of course. I am very careful to protect the ladies I have seen.
I do things way worse things than meeting escorts, and my fam knows that too.
I see no shame in my lifestyle. If others do. That is their problem.
I chose to be completely honest with the people close to me because they started to get ideas of their own.
I would prefer my close friends to know the truth about me.
Rather, make up their own.

I did not expect the outcome tough.
People chomp at the bit to hear the stories I have to tell.
It just goes to show that every man has a desire to hobby.

Oh. BTW Call yourself a Sexual Deviant.

Way worse things than meeting escorts..
Drugs? Stealing?

You feel no shame?

Thanks Freud.
Yea. No fairy tale happy ending for me.
That's okay though.
Deluded fuktard fits me just fine.

Many men do it, yet chances are you'll never hear a speech of pro-prostitution from anyone outside "this world".

Why?

Larry Flynt (the porn-maker who started the magazine "Hustler") once said something like this "When it comes to sex, people have this incredible dishonest attitude" -- that answered your question.  Sex is something everyone wants (men or women alike), but we all just play along a game of dishonest attitude about sex to conform with social norm.

If I were with a coworker or anybody involved in my professional life, I would abstain. If it was a friend, even my super religious friends, I would share my true feelings. My true feelings are that what happens behind closed doors between consenting adults is the business of those consenting adults and nobody elses business.

I would vote to legalize most prostitution.  This position is consistent  with my other political and social views.  It would not surprise anyone who knows me. How much I know about certain aspects of the issue would definitely surprise them.  And sometimes it's hard to get into political discussions on this (no, not all prostitutes are trafficed or have pimps) without exposing my sources of knowledge , although there a couple of chapters in the Freakonomics books on prostitution that one can point to.

and it generally doesn't even occur to me not to just put my values and principles out there regardless of how controversial they may be.  okay -- at the core of my system of ethics is honor for individual liberty and the non-aggression principle.  basically, so long as you do not harm anyone, your body and your life belong to you -- no one else.  my ethics are a huge part of who i am.

i don't really see how i stand to gain from pretending to be someone i'm not with anyone -- neither in my civie life, nor in this delightful little subculture of ours (although i do try to use *tact* and not bring all my radicalist madness up during a date unless someone else initiates the conversation).  most of the people near and dear to me know all about my views.  so of course i speak up for sex workers' rights (i speak up for human rights in general no matter what subset of the population they're part of -- baby boys [they deserve genital integrity], drug users, etc).  almost all of my friends & family know all about my vocation.  i'm careful in a couple of cases when i really need to be, but by no stretch of the imagination am i ashamed and i do not hide.  if they weren't before, now most of my loved ones are vocal supporters of sex workers' rights, too.  :)  yup.  the way i see it, if someone doesn't like me, they don't have to associate with me.  if they do like me, then they're probably awesome.

I find it difficult to talk to my kids yet about blow-jobs for after dinner conversation . " Im off to Orlando kids to give a 10-10 Mom stellar performance ! " LOLOL
I'll give them 15 years or so to grow up :)
Moral to the story - this is my social realm LOL
However , it does seem like a few of my civvie girlfriends like to call each other ' hooker ' for a term of endearment . I always get a little weirded out as if they know !  LMAO

Gabby xox

I'll start off by saying no one knows I visit escorts, except the girls themselves. And almost no one knows that I smoke weed, except my SO and a couple of the escorts I've seen where the conversation naturally shifted that way. I guess you could say that some providers know more about me than my family, friends, and coworkers.

But that's the way of things. People are closed-minded and polarized, seems like now more than ever. They are judgmental and righteous, and they fear things they don't know or understand. Things that have been illegal all their lives seem morally and inherently evil even though they can't explain why.

I take a passive stance when the conversation goes to legalization of prostitution or marijuana. As long as it's voluntary and involves only adults, I don't see the problem. At least with weed I can draw on my college days to explain its effects and refute some of the negative assumptions. But I like using the phrase "It doesn't affect me either way", which makes it sound like I'm not involved in those activities, but in reality it just means that the illegal nature of it doesn't stop me.

The truth is that legalization and regulation of those things would greatly benefit society in general. With prostitution, it would greatly reduce the physically abusive pimps, smuggled sex trade workers, exploited minors, etc. Of course those things will still exist to some degree, but people will start moving to the easy legal option and take the market away from the ones who would abuse it. Same with weed, you reduce the money and manpower being wasted in the "war on drugs" when it's fighting something so similar to alcohol, but without the physical dependency, liver damage, or potential to incite violence. The country starts MAKING money on taxation instead of SPENDING money for victimless activities.

I don't trust anyone enough to share the intimate details of my life. I have plenty of opinions that I know people would find highly offensive, and I've engaged in activities that many see as morally abject. This post only touched on some of them. I feel no compulsion to share myself with anyone to that degree because every attempt I've made in the past has not turned out well. So I'll keep it a secret, I can live with that.

to go around taking a stand for legalizing sex work. I would however voice my opinions on human trafficking, underage women who are forced into it, etc. because I feel that would be making a difference, but for women who CHOOSE to be here? Um, they can just as easily choose to get the hell out of it. It is simply not something that sits high on my list of significant things to accomplish in life, nor anything I care to brag about.
