I asked my SD (keep in mind this was years ago) what he thought I could use as a good stage name for me.  He said, let me sleep on it and I'll see what I can think of. Well next day I threw out a few names and asked what he came up with. His answer floored me BUT that's the name I chose.  He always loved the name Terrilynn so much that he named one of his daughters this. He said he'd be honored if I used Terrilynn lol soooo, here I am :)
I've too asked people how they got their handles and I've heard some very interesting responses.
XOXO,
TL

I get a kick from some of my client's Ter handles. In some of my sessions. I have heard some very funny stories about what their handle is based on, or what's the backstory (if there is one)

What's the story behind your handle? Did you just pick a random handle? Or is there a story behind it?

Can't wait to hear your answers.

Are you sure it wasn't because "Needlepeterthebugfucker" was too long"?

I use that term to endear myself with less fortunate guys when thru their own admission, size comes up in conversation

Well Sonny,I suspect that needlepeter vs needledick was settled before you were even born, before email or even desktop computer, since I heard it while in the Navy and that was during the Korean War.

When factory door closed.I need work asap.

Well, I photograph and "IBD" is an acronym, so I guess that pretty much explains it. I know - boring! (lol)

Holy shit!  I always though the "TS" meant Transsexual.

When I joined TER years ago. . I was curious and had to do a free registration to poke around... so I just started hitting a few letters.. and it came out to josulli. . I envy a clever handle..wish I had one..too much hassle to change it

Russian abbreviated = russ  and bbbj abbreviated = bbj

Why did I feel the need to abbreviate bbbj, one might ask? Well I'm a nerd, have always been a nerd, and the law of math dictates that both sides of an equation must be equal in order for it to be an equation. Why do I feel that the two are part of an equation, one might ask? Probably a deep rooted psychological issue.

Interestingly, a while back we had a similar thread and someone informed me that I screwed up because it's bbbj. Too funny, apparently you can misspell an acronym as part of a nickname.
Hmm, so what if I decided my choice of nickname is cngvngbbvn (this means absolutely nothing, just random key strokes)?   No, my choice of nickname is whatever the hell I want it to be.

I was in Seattle at the time, and someone had mentioned "Pocahontas" that day; I twisted the letters to make it masculine and "Poco Hunter" came out. At the time it sounded good to me, but I think my judgment was clouded by the few Rusty Nails I had downed in the bar that night. Oh well, too late to change it now.

his name was Udo. I responded to all of his posts, kind of as a female provider alter ego.

I'd orignially posted my 'real' posts under another handle, then lost the password. So I reincarnated with this handle.

It's also fun to see how people post here based on a handle.

When I was born, my mother thought I was just the most perfect baby she ever saw. :)

My story behind my handle is the number of times that I came the most in one night,I was 19yo!!!

So I went straight to Faulkner characters named after holidays.

i love Octavia as a character, Lexa was another character from the 100 as well

When I first started this, before I knew about TER, I used to see two women doubles partners whom I found on Backpage (I didn't know any better and God really does sometimes protect idiots).  During one of our sessions, one of the gals commented on how big my cock was. (I know she was just flattering me because I am really average sized.)  She said to her friend, Here's big dick B___(my first name).
So when I needed a handle for TER, I selected bdb for big dick B___, and added the 6 for my average six inch cock.

Mine comes from the greatest hotel in Paris. The George Cinq is a juist stone's throw from the Arc de Triomphe. The food, rooms, architecture, service are unbelievable. My goal is to have enough money one day to take my ATF there to stay and play all day !

1954 was the year my ex was born. Don Becker was a guy I knew in high school. A whiney, spoiled twit. He once tried to grab some food off my tray in the cafeteria, and I stabbed him in the hand with a fork.

Seemed like an appropriate name for this gladiator academy. ;)

Not super creative... Glenn Quagmire from Family Guy. Giggity!

I didn't even know these discussion boards existed when I came up with my handle, so I chose it as a prompt for myself. Just a reminder that my so-called disposable income is very limited and I need to show some restraint. "Needed" now that I'm retired.

I have some acting experience.  I played Governor John B. Slaton in a play based on a murder in Atlanta over 100 years ago, where I eventually commuted a death sentence, and in so doing, committed what amounted too political suicide

I'm on the Northeast Corridor (Boston-DC) but mostly in New York and Boston.  Mix 'em up, drop a few letters and you get BossNewTon.

Oh crap. I picked the wrong name.

Oh crap ... according to wikipedia, it's now called the Northeast Megalopolis.

Alway's loved that song, so it seemed a good idea at the time...

I don't know if anyone remembers Ciara of Buffalo (very active on these boards ten years ago.), but she was tight with my new inamorata, Beverly Fisher (ret. now my better half), and Bev and I went out to Buffalo shortly after we hooked up to visit her.  She later posted about the visit saying that she had hosted Mr. and Ms. Fisher for the weekend.  I was at the time just joining TER and wondering what to take as my handle.  I looked at Ciara's post and said to Bev:  Looks like I just got my handle.  Mr. Fisher was already taken, but mrfisher was up for grabs, so I took it with Bev's kind permission

When I joined another site, they gave it to me.  Decided to keep it to retain my anonymity.

I love a little mystique .... not a big deal tho, really

(I just discovered the linked itinerary when I did a search engine on CorbinCandor)

Actually, I was thinking of Candid or how Candor represents being open, honest and frank. I was also thinking that even if hiding behind an alias and if perchance face to face, flesh and bone (with another), I can still stand behind what I’ve posted including any mild sarcasms and humor without being troll-like.

As far as Corbin, I was looking for a catchy prefix and went with it (as in the Cor/Dor rhyme). Looking up the definition of Corbin, it can mean several things, but most common are raven or raven-haired. Also, the name has been popularized as in Corbin Dallas, Corbin Bleu and  Corbin Bernsen.

So, I did put some thought into it.

Van the Man was a nickname I picked up in high school.  666 is because I have been an atheist for the last 5 years or so, and wish to distance myself from my former religion.

I started this e-mail account about 10 years ago to explore my fantasies through e-mail.  It has, obviously, evolved past that, but I still use the e-mail account for the same reason, so.. It is my mailfantasy.  #1 because about 4 years ago my account got hacked and I lost access to it.

Nickname for one of my favorite football players. Figure it was easy enough to remember and impossible to trace back to me

Before there was a handle, there was an alias. I borrowed the name Ray Garrett from a character in a Patricia Highsmith novel. Ray made me think of raygun. I once saw an installation by artist Claes Oldenburg consisting of two pavilions housing collections of found objects called the Raygun Wing and the Mouse Museum. The Raygun Wing had toy rayguns and things that looked like guns, such as dildos, so I liked the association. Raygun by itself is too common, so it needed a number or something else to with it. Following the science fiction association, I chose 2525 from the 1960's Zager and Evans song "In the Year 2525". There you have it, raygun2525.

of somewhere I used to live.
