Then shouldn't we all consider throwing in the towel on this vice?  Or better yet, maybe Bill should partake of a few of the finer women here, and pen a new literary great :  'The book of vices',  or maybe we should all take up gambling to compensate for the loss of Bill in the casinos out there?     Any poker players out there?

are so vehement about trying to instruct other people about virtue.  If he and Ashcroft and the rest would just deal with their issues, maybe they'd leave the rest of us alone.

I saw William Bennett in Caesar's Atlantic City in mid-November. In fact, I had dinner with he and my casino host and Bennett teased me about having beaten me out of a suite. No wonder!

Had I known what I know now, I could have told him the following: 'with 8 1/2 million dollars, you can find a damn good lookin' woman to spend time with'! And he may have actually saved money by spending time away from the slots. Lord knows he wasn't spending time with his wife!

He's not a bad fellow, he just made a mistake and didn't exercise absolute discretion and good judgement. Besides, he gambled where it was legal and if you have the money to cover it, so what!

Just my .02

I am a blackjack and baccarat man myself.

Former escort OWNER?  I sure hope you're talking about a Ford ride.  Cuz otherwise, you deserve to go away for life and get pimped out to C-block for cigs.  We here may all despise and violate certain Puritanical provisions of our state criminal codes, but the Thirteenth Amendment is a horse of another color altogether.  NO UNION WITH SLAVEHOLDERS!

I don`t have any problems with the way he chooses to spend his money. I see no hypocracy in his behavior. Give the guy a break. It`s not like he`s getting blown by an intern or something.

You may not see any hypocracy BUT I do.  Bennett was very free to lecture everyone on what to do and not do, but apparently he needed to listen too.  He did not break any laws with legal gambling, but he did break "God's Laws" which he was very quick to preach about.

The problem with people like Bennett and Gingrich, (Who had a girlfriend on the side while berating Clinton) is the hypocracy that they project.

Yes no one was hurt by his gambling.  Well maybe his family?  Who was hurt by Clinton with Monica?  Maybe his family?

They stop selling some magazines because those publications show too much skin.      However, they continue to sell guns, rifles and ammunition.   I suppose it's ok to kill people, just don't take their clothes off.

Bill Bennett can criticize everyone for their lack of values, but it's ok for HIM to gamble.  Just another case of do as I say, not as I do.

Just a bunch more "old conservative hypocrisy."

Oh... that must be that 11th comandment I missed. Thou shalt not lay a fifty on the pass line. Now as far as Slick Willy goes..... he hurt this whole country by embarrassing all of us and himself with his fratboy attitude. I`m not saying that there aren`t enough fools to go around, republican and democrat alike, but Bill Bennett didn`t do anything wrong. I don`t think he had to hide from anyone to enjoy a vice that millions of Americans partake in everyday. I never heard him say that you or I need to curtail our gambling. I say.... if you are lucky enough to have expendible income after the tax happy liberals get done rapeing you then it`s up to you how to enjoy it.
