In the position you describe, I would think the woman's legs are just left to dangle off the bed, without any support.  Would this make it difficult or distract from her being able to tense at all?

That's funny. My frequently miserable back and neck have never felt bad during DATY.

I prefer the direct approach.  On top, arms wrapped around her thighs, hands caressing her nipples getting turned on as they harden and watching goose bumps and blushing on her skin.  

All I need now is a provider/chiropractor to crack my back that way-- billed to my insurance, of course.  

Kneeling for an extended time can be difficult, especially for us older guys.  I suggest the man sit on his butt.  If the bed frame is high enough there may be room for him to sit yoga style with his legs around the bed post.  If not try this.

Have the lady sit in a comfortable executive office chair.  The man can sit on his rear and has the choice of stretching his legs on top of the chair's legs or sitting yoga style.

If the chair has arms, she can drape her legs over them.  If not she can drape them over the guys shoulders.  

Unless you are lucky enough to have an expensive office chair on which the back reclines separately from the seat, the position may become uncomfortable for the lady compared to her lying on the bed.  As an alternative, try a large living room recliner.

A big advantage of this position is that because the lady's torso is raised she has a good view looking down on what is being done to and for her.....sort of like a queen on her throne elevated above her subjects.

Any of you ladies think you would like to be "pampered" in this way?

but a standing 69, with the guy holding the gal upside, is the way to go with DATO.  Strengthens the back muscles and makes you stronger for wimpy, garden variety DATY.

Great position, Heather. My only additions are make sure your fingernails are very well groomed* and I usually end up with one arm kind of flopping out there without much to do except attach to a free breast (nature abhors a free electron or a free breast) OR place my palm (of free hand)on her pubic mound and gently (or sometimes not) move her whole region slightly towards her navel. Her body feedback tells me whether she likes it.

*one time I decided to get a manicure before a session. I wanted to let the lady doing the nail job know what problem I was solving but couldn't bring myself to do it. Oh, and this was a time the lady's profile said finger insertion was ok and it was not. What a bummer.
