I always have condoms, a variety of them, at least 3 of each type for an hourlong date. I want us to be protected, and pleasurably so.

Never ran into that issue, thankfully. My assumption is she always provides and they always have.  

I have started bringing my own on occasion as sometimes they are a bit snug and not everyone carries a larger size. But I was always curious if the ladies think that is  a concern or happy that I’m coming prepared to enjoy our time together.  

I've heard tell that some brands/makes of condoms can cause an allergic reaction for some ladies or just not have a good compatibility with their personal chemistry. Plus, it is something of a business expense, a bit like going to a restaurant but them saying they don't have utensils for eating and expected you to bring your own.

 
That said I have had some say they expect the customer to provide the condoms and that condoms are required -- but that has been overseas. I think as long as it's known in advance if doesn't matter much, but as you mention, if where is the condom turns into the surprise question of the session that is not good.

I have never encountered a situation where a provider hasn't had condoms available.  That being said, I prefer to use my own since I'm not a huge fan of latex, and I find the Skyn brand the most enjoyable to use.  Fortunately, those seem to be the most popular among the providers I've visited!

The only time I ever had an escort not have a condom was when I first started and booked a cheap, lower end, provider. Yes, it is the provider's obligation to have condoms available. That said, I usually bring my own because I prefer the more expensive brands that offer greater sensitivity.
This is also very true in countries like Costa Rica. Girls there ALWAYS have condoms available but they are cheap crap and it feels like putting on a trash bag.

Happened to me twice in the last few years. Nothing like having to make a mad dash to the convenience store with a throbbing hardon (yes--I did get dressed first).

My inference has long been that a lady should provide covers not only out of professionalism, but also for her health and safety because she will know what type and brand work best for her, and that the condoms are neither old nor tampered with.

Yes, the provider should always have protection as others pointed out. I like to bring my own, which I may prefer over the providers brand. But I have had some providers tell me that they will not use condoms that the client brings in because they might be tampered with i.e. holes poked in them or something. I don’t know who the hell would want that, but it’s a legitimate fear.

As far as I'm concerned it's the provider's responsibility to have them.

Most providers that I have been with like to provide their own since they know what feels good for them.  

I always have some ready just in case.
