I have an ex. Not wife, but GF who I dated for about a year. Horrible fucking GF, lied, cheated, everything but stole from me. We broke up probably eight years ago. Since then we have seen each other and hooked up at least once a year, in between other relationships, and in her case I am sure at least some of the time she was involved with some one else.

AAR, She has become the perfect ex, as long as we don't spend more than two days together. lol By the third day we realize why we aren't a couple and start fighting again, but as long as we are just hooking up for a night or a weekend, as you said "the benefits are AMAZING" lol

At one time in society the options were very limited.

As society has progressed, there are so many options for how a man and woman can behave with one another that I don't see too much logic in trying to fit a tag on them.

A better use of our time and mental talent would be to simply figure out how we want to be with one another rather than how we are suppose to act given the title placed on the relationship.

Sorry if this sounds a bit psycho-babble-ish, but I spent a few hours today with a very unusual psychotherpist and my mind is just in that mode right now.

Okay, question for all. is it really fracking weird to have an affair that lasts longer than the marriage?

My second ex husband recently sent me a ten year anniversary gift with a note that said "thanks". I didnt know whether to curse him out, shove the gift up his non existent ass or just....go with the flow. I called him up and asked him WHY he sent it and I was told it had been ten years since he first, um, did me. (who keeps track of stuff like that? Not I!) I then felt like the ass I am because I didnt think to send him anything. I mean, really now. I still havent sent him anything. I dont know about these things.

Funny. We were briefly married (it only lasted about 5 months) and that sure as heck didnt work out. No matter who we are married to/dating/screwing, we are still best friends with some AMAZING benefits. I think we bring out the nasty freaky in each other. I mean, some of the stuff we do....hmm. Just gutterbutt nasty. LOL

my LTRs in the civy world are typically good for about 10 years which covers most of my life as an adult. when in between i screw around a lot.

i've often mentioned my 2nd ex.... who was fabulous. she's the one who spoiled me as far as civy sex is concerned. there are very few providers in my experience who could equal her for beauty or skills. we've kept in touch about this and that over the years. she really brought out my inner kink. blindfolds, domination (we'd take turns, i'm more comfortable that way), fucking on a pile of fur coats, BBBJNQNS swallows while i'm trying to drive the damn car much to the amusement of truckers passing us, we were very hard on bathroom fixtures she had many toys....

we are no longer are FWB though, people move, geographically. but shortly before that happened we met at her place and well...... your post reminds me of that last encounter.

sad but true. I can not stand to be around anyone for more than 2 days. After the second day, I find ways to pick a fight and get you to leave.

sigh. good times, good times.

although the 2 day thing is ANOTHER similarity AND a difference....

it wasn't so much that i couldn't stand to  be with another person for more than two days. it was there are times when i have to spend so much time with so many people that i need two days of alone time before i can be human again. very introverted, i really need my alone time when i need it. i'd come home from a business trip and hide in my den for two days. she waited about ten years for me to "change" and that was the end of that..... there was some change.... after that many years the 2 day minimum recovery got down to about a day and a half... LOL!

there was always fun fun fun involving the fireplace, foie gras, fine champagne and (seasonably) furs. i think that's how i got conditioned for hobby, in addition to her being younger and very very easy on the eyes.
