For those of you who do not seem to understand or comprehend certain words in the English language today’s lesson follows:

Main Entry: re•tire
Pronunciation: ri-'tIr
Function: verb
Inflected Form(s): re•tired; re•tir•ing
Etymology: Middle French retirer, from re- + tirer to draw
Date: 1533
intransitive senses
1 : to withdraw from action or danger : RETREAT
2 : to withdraw especially for privacy
3 : to move back : RECEDE
4 : to withdraw from one's position or occupation : conclude one's working or professional career

Frankly I find it a waste of time, space and energy to ever see someone looking for a provider who has formally announced her retirement.

In most cases it seems to me the sole purpose is to harass the young lady or cause her pain.

Every time this happens I would bet that additional members who also don’t seem to know the basics of courtesy and etiquette will call, e-mail, IM or make every attempt to coerce, induce, and entice said women to change their mind, regret their decision and jump back into whatever they were doing before.

IMHO this can only serve to cause others who might consider participating in this hobby second thoughts about what will happen when they too decide that enough is enough or that they have finally met the partner of their dreams and want to move on.

I would encourage the moderators of all boards to watch for those members who regularly make such inquiries and delete them. This is in the best interest of all of us as there are plenty of providers who would like nay love to see us.

P.S. Wouldn’t you think that a provider who has retired and then decided to return to this life would be back on these boards letting us know?

Well said.
I always say you are only retired until you next appointment.
This goes for ladies as well as gentlemen in this 'hobby.'
Successful retirement for either would mean I suppose we never hear from them again.
For if they are truly retired, why would they want to linger here?

We keep trying to retire, but everytime we show up at Verizon Wireless Amphitheater or similar venues, people show up and start screaming at us to play a few of our crusty old songs.

Why, oh why, won't they leave us alone??????

(By the way, we have a special on last year's farewell tour t-shirts to make room for next years farewell tour t-shirts. You can purchase these once-in-a-lifetime garments on line with a major credit card.)

Thank you, and wish us well in our retirement.  And please, please, let us retire in peace!!!!!!!!

That if their favorite has retired and wants to remain in contact with them, the provider would have made it a point to leave a way to get a hold of her.

If someone retired, disconnects the phone, moves, and stops checking certain emails, then it probably means they arent looking to maintain ties with their past.
