I had a so called escort contact me on a social meeting app on my phone and she listed her number to contact. As i started as her simple questions, like donations and how long, she says to me that she can do a 5-10 minute webcam show for $30 to make sure i'm legit and really want to meet her. Now i have been with a few escorts and this has never happened to me, i make that call or text and go to them or they come to me. I wasn't buying it and seemed like a scam to me. It sounds like a ploy to get me to signup and some webcam site and have my CC info so they can keep charging me $30 a month.

If it rhymes with hinder then no. That app is notorious for cam scams.

Saw a lady's ad on one of the local ad boards; she was touring.  Contacted her and she wanted to validate me via a webcam chat.  There was a cost to doing this and she stated that it would be applied to her donation.  I declined to be validated via this method.  The whole thing didn't sound right since none of the other ladies I'd met ever went this route.

First of all, I prefer to make the initial contact andsecond Iwont pay to be screened.  

Since you have each other's phone number you could try FaceTime if they're are smart phones.
