A Merkin? Anyone ever seen one in a non-novelty way? Ever seen one that is actually attempting to look like a real bush?

In a non-novelty way, they are frequently used in film... usually when frontal nudity is required, but the actress is uncomfortable baring her own goods.  (Or because the period of the film [ie: circa 1970's] requires a fuller garden than the lady has.)

I've also seen it as 'practical wear' for crossdressing and transvestitism.

In the movie "Dr. Strangelove" back in the mid-'60's, one of Peter Sellers' characters was the president of the US, named "Muffly Merkin".  Really subtle gag...
