For the return of a lover

I have water and wine chilled, awaiting your arrival.
Lasagna and garlic bread is on the menu, with dessert being the first course.
Freshly showered and shaved, a summer dress as you request.
Candles are lit, soft music is played.
A fresh set of sheets and the pillows fluffed.
All that's left is a knock on the door.
Which is followed by a warm hug and soft kiss, we all know what's next!

Anticipating,
daydreaming,
fantasizing

Scenes in my mind,
remembering the smell
of her hair, the way
she moves, her smile,
the feel of her skin,
the shape of her legs,
the curve of her hips,
the softness of her lips.

Just a few more hours,
just one more nights sleep,
then a drive, playing
the songs that remind me of her.

Anticipating an embrace at the door,
the taking of her hand,
looking into her eyes as
we speak of our lives.

The world fading away,
replaced by her laughter,
my soul singing, my heart stolen.

After, after the caresses
and kisses, after the passion,
stepping back into the world.

Not sad at leaving, no
longing to stay,
smile on my face, in my
heart, in my soul.

Love that Jackson Brown, Elvis and all the others you mentioned. I especially like jazz and the older music like Billie Holiday. But when I'm in the car, I would love to hear more of the older alternative music from the early '80s.

Oh my, what a lunch
I did have today,
Great tasting food and
with Carlee I did play.

At the door I was greeted,
A short dress she did wear,
With a smile and brown eyes
she did fix my stare.

Off to the bedroom
for fun we did go,
Fun we did have, but
details? No, no, no.

Out to the table, for
it was time to dine.
Wonderful aromas, we
had pasta and wine.

Happy and sated,
both inside and out,
it was time to go,
time to light out.

I couldn't help but think,
"how lucky for me,
I have made a new friend,
Her name is Carlee!"
