If a lady is uncomfortable with the amount of screening you are willing or able to provide, she may ask for a real name and will ask to check your driver's license on arrival. Too much for you? Fine. See someone else who is less stringent, and she will find someone else who is willing to submit to her screening. Life goes on. No need for drama.

During a preliminary phone conversation with a provider recently, I was informed that before seeing the provider, I would be required to provide her with my full first and last name. Is this a common practice and do other clients freely provide this information?

I am verified on date-check and preferred411, I have posted more than 50 reviews over many months and am able to provide any number of references, so I was quite surprised by this request and didn't understand why it was asked and expected.

Well during an hour on the phone with her, I did relent to her initial request and give her my first name, but I have gone by my middle name (Lance) with family and friends for most of my life, and she began calling me by my first name from that point forward... I just thought it was a little odd...

P411 suggest you provide her with doc with the 4 nubers on it with the name taped over. But your stating she wanted you name before seeing you. Hm, have to think about that one. Could be something on the provider boards or black list and they only have a real name.  Maybe I move on.

I have nothing to hide and no one that I need to hide it from. Never been asked, I just give it. What she going to do with it blackmail me? Good luck with that as I will turn her in to the police a heartbeat. Tell my wife? She know. Stalk me? I would out her in a second and slap a restraining order on her. I do realize most have much more to lose than I do if outed. So I do see why you would not wish to give out your name. If it is a problem for you just move on. As to why a lady may want it, it so she can check the blacklists and maybe run a background check to see if you are a violent criminal or a sexual predator. It is to protect her from bad men and if you do turn out to be one of the bad ones it gives her a way to report you after the fact. It makes her feel safer with you. Your reviews, date-check and preferred411 id, and references do not let her ID you to police if you do something real bad to her like rape her. I am very close to a lady who was raped by a client that and she felt she had no recourse because of how they met and she did not have his name. Your being verified on Date-Check and Preferred411, TER reviews and white listings, and your references only give her limited recourse if something goes wrong and aren't who you say you are. And with a real name she can ID you to make sure you are who you say you are. Everyone must decide what they are comfortable with go with it. We are all taking chances when we hobby. There is risk on both sides. Maybe giving out your real name is to much risk for you and maybe seeing you without it is too much risk for her. If so it is best for both if you both find someone else. I do know of one lady who does require your full name and at least one who will video you if she does not have it. I much rather give out my full name than risk being taped because I did not give her any other recourse for her to track me down if I miss behave. That is too much risk for me.

First of all, unless you have a disposable phone, if she has you number she has probably done a cell phone search and back ground check on you already...

Some ladies don't give a hoot about references and verification sites, they will want your real-world first and last name.  It is up to you how much info you are willing to give just as it is up to the lady to decide how much she needs to ask you for.

Yes, there are some ladies that do ask for your full name.  Some even require ID at the time of your visit to ensure you are the person who you say you are.

You might want to consider using P411.com's service.  You can also use Datecheck and other such services..Oh, yea they ask for your real first and last name among other things, however once your screened and you get OK's on the services, you will have a much more easier time of finding an escort to see you.

I declined.  Interestingly that one provider, when I said "no", quickly decided I sounded like a nice guy so she didn't need any references anyway.  All the more reason I ran away.

P411, DateCheck, and references have sufficed all the other times.

It's her right to ask, mine to move to someone else.

I think you're over reacting to what one provider does or doesn't accept.  In years of being a DC & P411 member exactly 1 did not consider those credentials acceptable and about 30 or 40 have.  Have you tried other women listed on those services and gotten similar push back?

Here is what I partially say on my website:

Why You Need References In Order To See Me

I recognize the concerns of new clients in providing personal information for reference purposes, and especially before you have even met me. The point of the following information is so that you have a clearer understanding of why references are vital for both my -and your well-being.

We both have a lot at stake here. Your concerns should your personal information be exposed, would probably include a devastating impact on, -a significant other relationship and possibly a family -a business and career, -financial fall-out, an established life.

My concerns should you turn out to be someone who would harm me, or bring some sort of other ill-will, might be harassment, coercion, serious physical injury, and even worse. I am not being melodramatic; these things happen regularly. The risk is higher for an independent provider who may, or may not have ready access to a ‘guard,' or the intimidation of an agency owner with friends should a client start any sort of unnessary drama.

An escort who references her clients is not only providing a shield of protection for herself, but also for the clients.  In an arrangement where the client meets up with the escort, you have no idea who is going to be at that location upon your arrival. If the escort does not care who she is meeting with, that could be a signal of either extremely bad judgment to the detriment of the escort (and potentially to the client himself,) or a possible set-up when the client walks in. After all, we are talking about two strangers meeting in a private setting in many situations.

Integrity is a key component when you utilize my services as your professional date. There is no way that I would ever bring any harm to you. In fact, I refuse to see anyone who does not meet my strict and very high standards. I am not here out of desperation; this has almost become a hobby for me, perhaps even amusement! I see very few gentlemen to begin with, and I plan on keeping it that way.

At a reduced fee, I would even be open to meeting you for a cup of coffee, or a glass of wine if that would help you feel more comfortable. Upon meeting, it will immediately become quite clear that not only am I a very beautiful and classy lady, I am sincere and honest. You are safe with me! A satisfying mutual arrangement is what I seek, and hopefully you will feel the same.

Other Information

I may ask for, or need the following information. Please be prepared to provide this to me should I ask; if you are not comfortable doing this, then please find a different provider - *full name, *birth date, *residing city, *private telephone number, *work telephone number (see work reference above,) *email address, and *occupation.

This is what happens to your information after fulfilling a companionship commitment:

For the safety and privacy of both parties, I do not retain ANY information once an escort date is fulfilled. You will need to re-contact me and provide your telephone number, or email address each time that we meet. This information includes, but is not limited to: names, telephone numbers, email addresses, reference checks, and so forth.

That's how they feel powerful and important.   There's no better feeling for a woman than to know she has you in the palm of her hand.  It's a confirmation of her sexual power.

"Wow, he's given me all that sensitive information.   Just to be with ME!"

With providers, unlike wives, their upper bound is typically 300-500 USD per hour.  So they need some other leverage on you.  With wives, the sky's the limit.  She would love it if you broke your back to build her the Taj Mahal!

So, with providers, to get around this "upper bound", she's going to try to squeeze more out of you.  This is not monetary currency, but emotional currency.

Just for consideration, the information you have provided here does match what can be found on the website as you stated.

I would strongly reconsider such incriminating information on you website. In the event that you were caught in a sting, trust me, all that explanation you have on your site has excellent probative value and certainly would be entered into evidence in a court of law, should you choose to go to court on the case against you.

Another consideration is the offering of meeting for coffee in order to build confidence as it were. Believe me vice officers are very adept at seeing opportunities and working them. Meeting someone for coffee can be real enticing particularly if it meant a multi-hour date with a lot of money. It’s hard for you to decline and clearly a great opportunity for the vice officer.

There are so many ladies busted daily in this country that it is not even news anymore. Why do you suppose that is? It’s because the vice divisions are opportunists and will take advantage of any door left open. They talk bigger lines than most clients you will ever meet trying to “tire kick” or negotiate lower rates.

While I certainly understand the need for safety, and respect any provider's decision to determine the form of identification she feels most comfortable with, for myself I would not give out a full name to someone I did not know.  This is exactly the issue that P411, Datecheck and TER whitelist are designed address, giving the provider a resource to check references without unnecessarily compromising the privacy of a new client.  Especially in light of recent government attention to agencies, I think it is reasonable to respect a new client's efforts to ensure their own privacy provided that they have confirmable references.  There really should be a happy medium, or gentlemen will lose wonderful opportunities with providers, but also visa versa.  I note that many providers go out of their way to provide references (primarily I believe to ensure the safety of their community), which I find to an extremely honorable act, so the act of giving out a full name before ever meeting is not really a necessary element to security.  But to each their own.

But I do have the clients who can easily afford to pay 500-1000 and hour because ALL of my clients are upscale..But, the amount I charge is what they would pay for for a nice dinner and is easily explained to their so's...I love it when I see a guy who says "I wouldn't see a girl who doesn't check". Just because she doesn't ask for your personal information, doesn't mean she can't and won't get it. Trust me she is doing it. I know, because I do it and I am so good at it, you don't know I am doing it. Besides having several "friends" in the hotel business where, once I have your hotel room number, I already have your name and anything else I want. I also use several online services for those few, and I mean few clients who stay at places I don't have easy access of knowledge to. ANd for those who live in those gorgeous penthouse apartments with the fanatsic view.. you wonder how do I get your name from your doorman? oh please, you cant be that naive...

But yet, I am one of the providers you easily judge because I don't charge 500.00 an hour..But it is MY business, and mine alone..You are NOT my pimp.. oh wait...I AM MY OWN BOSS.. I expect the men who see me to be intelligent enough to see I am not a threat to any of their privacy.
I should be able to trust them with all they will discover about me.  Altho highly public as a companion. I'm a private person.  My longevity in the biz, the total revelation of my website... warrants some level of comfort with me as an individual.

I am a genuine companion.  I'm sharing a great deal about myself in my relationships.. even if that is a one night relationship.   I make connections.
Anyone who wants to remain anonymous with me makes me feel valueless.  I'm not a paper sack .. I'm a person.  This is a date... an intimate date.  Even if it is a short experience I am fully present and to reduce me to a cardboard cutout isn't my goal.   I want something mutually enriching... for both of us.

I don't need to talk to 2 girls you have seen before.  I don't need you to belong to a service that says you are 'OK'.
I need you to be able and willing to have a brief conversation with me and provide enough insight into you as to feel comfortable with who I am meeting.  I am always happy to reciprocate with those who prove themselves trustworthy.

Only my perspective... apparently you are looking for some other type of transaction.  and if you can meet ladies who TRULY feel at ease and good about themselves being intimate  with strangers who don't want to be seen as anything except nameless wallets... good for you.   I don't want to be acquainted with either one of you.

With today's technology you can pretty much borrow anyone's identity to fake your way into an appointment.  Everyone's information is sloshing around cyberspace and, really, only the most cautious ladies even stand a chance of protecting themselves.

Someone's name, age, work info, and city of residence can all be found on the internet in a couple of minutes.  All you really need is his business card or facebook/linkedin/myspace profile to get started.  LE can set up fake companies with fake IT departments to entrap providers.  And this is just a few of the available methods.

I really don't know why ladies require this info.  There is no guaranteed utility to having it and they still have no recourse if someone with fake credentials screws them over.  These stringent screening procedures are just bad business because they limit ladies' potential client bases.  And judging from my experiences with booking appointments it seems that ladies could always use more business.

Provider references are the most effective form of screening in this activity.

Not too long ago, a disgruntle hobbyist posing as a provider setup a website and started advertising on another review site for the sole purpose of collecting personal information in order to blackmail the members. This hobbyist posing as a provider insisted that everyone fill out the form on the website and provide their full real name. I had a couple conversations with the individual through email but fortunately I never caved in and provided my real name. And within a couple of days it was revealed that this hobbyist posing a provider was a fraud.

Before providing any personal information such as your real name, employer or home address, you need to realize that this information could easily be used for malicious purposes and ask yourself if you trust the individual. Every now and then you run into a provider asking for such information and IMO it is best to walk away. There are way too many other quality providers out there....

I think this response is kind of extremist.... Put on a DNS list?  It's the ladies who have DNS lists, and they are for dangerous men.  A lady isn't dangerous and shouldn't be blocked/banned/DNS'd just because she asks for a full name -- that's just her way of doing things.  I respectfully disagree with getting a gent's full name every time, but sometimes it can help.  The guys just have, "don't want to give my info to her lists."  Wow, some of these men sometimes can be so rough around the edges... Very few ladies are out to get a gentleman's personal info.  They just have differnet levels of feeling safe.

Anyway, if you have a P411 and/or Date-Check account and reviews, then most ladies would accept that.  Some want more, and they're not right or wrong, that' just the way they do business.

Also, what info did you offer up when you contacted her?  I have soooo many guys that just send an email saying, "When can I see you?"  I'll check their email and it doesn't match any profile on TER or if it does they don't want to tell me who to contact from their reviews for a reference, and it's like painfully pulling teeth to get each piece of info....  I had one like that this week.  5 emails before he PM'd me here and sent me his Date-Check ID#.  Don't know why it so long and why I ahd to keep asking....

If you didn't offer up much, then maybe that's why she asked for a full name.  One way to keep a guy from sending excessive emails that never lead enough screening for an appointment is to say you need his full name... If he offers it, he's legit, and if not then he may have been trying to see her with little or no screening, or just wasting her time.

Just tell her you're not comfortable if you'd still like to see her and immediately direct her to your TER reviews, of which you have enough to screen someone successfully, in my opinion.

Best, Alex

Alex, you said "Also, what info did you offer up when you contacted her?  I have soooo many guys that just send an email saying, "When can I see you?" If you didn't offer up much, then maybe that's why she asked for a full name."

Well in my case, SHE actually contacted ME after reading one of my discussion board postings and then while talking on the phone for 1 1/2 hours with me, she was reading off all of the providers I had seen and reviewed on TER, commenting on each one, telling me detailed information about each of them, which ones were good and which were not. She suggested she should be my booking agent and help me choose my providers. So she already knew I was white listed on TER and had 30+ reviews long before asking for my name.

Whenever I contact a provider, I always provide my date-check, preferred411 and TER ids. I had never  been asked for my full name previously, so the purpose of my original post was to determine whether this was a common practice and whether clients generally provide their full name freely.

Just so you know I spend the time to screen the  ladies I see. I spend a minimal of 6 hours over a period of 2 weeks screening each lady I see. I do know the real name of many of them because I do run a reverse phone number check and all those lovely smart phones and other non-disposable phone are very traceable. Most of the ladies are not aware of the fact I know there real name and can trace them if needs be. I do this because I was robbed once and it made me a bit paranoid and I want a recourse if something goes wrong and something bad happens again. If I a really large man has a need to protect myself, doesn't a 120lb woman need the same thing? And I know for a fact that many ladies film the greeting of the clients that do not give traceable information so their clients can be traced and I much rather give them my real name than be filmed greeting a sexual provider as the film can be used in court. Yes, I do know that  some ladies film anyway which does bother me but I can live with. Besides there is little she can do with my real name other than blacklist me that I care about. I don't have anything real to lose if outed and I will return the favor. If she tried to blackmail me, I would out myself and go to the cops and out her to them. I do understand for many of you you do have more to lose if outed, so it may to much risk to give your real name. If so don't give it and move on. But just because I have a higher risk tolerance when it comes to my name being known by the ladies does not mean I am whipped. I do my homework and allow  those I contact to do the same because to do otherwise would be hypocritical. By the way I do know a lady who was robbed, raped and dumped it the dessert by a client and felt she had no recourse because of her profession and had no traceable information to give the police so the insentient never got reported. This was before the blacklist sites so there was know way to warn other ladies about him ether. He is still out there as far as I know. I know this lady well as she is my wife. So I really do see their need for that information. This is a dangerous game we play. We all must be responsible for are own safety. If you do not want to give your name don't, there are many ladies who don't need, it but please respect the right of the ladies who do require it to do so. This is not about money or respect but personal safety so don't get all huffy if someone asks for more than you are willing to give, and don't get huffy over the fact some or willing to give it.

What kind of reasoning is that? I pay the cable, phone, etc etc and I gotta give them my name....we give our full name to many companies and people we do not know on a daily basis...what is the fuss to give the name to a provider??

Wow, he writes some angry stuff user a fake name and gets all huffy... Guys and girls, please remember that this hobby is supposed to be FUN & SAFE... We should all be careful but not to the point that sucks every ounce if fun out of the matter.

Lancelat, I gotta say, with all do respect, the situation of how you even came in coontact with this lady is very WEIRD -- she contacted you offering to be your booking agent and you guys spoke on the phone for 1.5 hrs? All of this before she asked for your complete name???... Forget about her asking about your name, that situation is just so.... I don't know... Nothing like the way I correspond, so I just don't get it. Sorry for my ignorance.

My advice is bow move on immediately and stck to ladies who YOU initiate cntact with and keep the screening and correspondence short, sweet & simple before you meet.  Your interaction was unecessarialy complicated and turned into a mess.

Play nice y'all... Alex

You are the one paying these girls...

Do you ask these girls for their FULL NAMES.... Do you check their personal background.... Do you look at their IDs...  If the answer is NO then neither should they..period.

I am amazed how many whipped men there are around here... Its cool and understandable to be whipped if you have a significant other... But when you are the one paying for services and need to be subjected to crap like this...MAN UP!!!

You are the one paying.... Unless they pay you, I do not see why you would even give some of these girls the time of day..

You know what you call someone who requires so much info from their client -> NO BUSINESS

If you are having sex with strangers its best to keep it as that...period

Alex,

Thank you so much for such a logical and sane reply! That was exactly my position, after more than an hour chatting on the phone about so many details of my involvement in the hobby, then she asks me for my full name... That set off warning bells for me....

This hobby is a fine balancing act. We're balancing our own safety against that of the other party. Some providers demand detailed personal information while many others don't. A provider can say that she's completely trustworthy and would never do anything to compromise your personal information. A hobbyist can also make the same claims and either of them could be liars. Think with the big head - we're meeting complete strangers for illegal activities. We have no idea what the other party is really like nor what they're capable of. We have no idea what their agenda is or how many different ways things could go badly wrong. How do we resolve this so that both parties are satisfied?

Sometimes you don't in which case you move on. There's absolutely no point in trying to talk a provider out of her screening criteria. Even if you succeed in reaching a compromise, she'll be nervous and that affects the session. And there's no point in giving up your personal information if it makes you nervous since that will also affect the session. There has to be mutual trust and respect between the provider and the hobbyist for a great session to happen. If you're going in feeling like the provider raked you over the coals and strip-searched you, it won't be a great session. Why make life difficult for both parties when there are so many other providers to choose from?

Unlike blood types, there are no universal "donors" or "receivers" here. No hobbyist should expect to see every provider he wants to and no provider should expect every hobbyist to bend to her screening demands. It's so much easier when you set your rules in stone and stick with them. This goes for both parties.

It is so much more than you make it out to be.  You dont' seem to comprehend screening (the most effective screening) isn't a matter of having someone fill out a list of answers to  questions..

and what?.. fake their eticket itinerary... tote along massive amount of industry swag,   seem to have infinite knowledge of their field, say they are a surgeon and fake their website and evidence that shows they are a national lecturer,  just so they can have a lady not know who they REALLY are... ?  not likely.

Guess it is possible.. but. WHY on earth would anyone go to that trouble to pull the wool over some ladies eyes... ?   It isn't a matter of LE... it is a matter of a full encounter... feeling comfortable. not feeling comfortable someone is not LE.   pleeez.

.. the conversations are much more involved then asking for a list of things.. Brief sometimes since some men are very easy to verify.  for example.. someone who has been a newscaster for many years.  Not hard to verify. then it is only a matter of a little conversation to ensure some personality traits jive with mine.

I really wonder what some of you fellas encounters are like... must be totally impersonal.  Your reasoning is totally and ridiculously wrong.
and NO  provider references are NOT an effective form of screening.  I can blow that argument out of the water but tired of typing.   Common sense not your forte fella.  But I truly believe you are finding the ladies best suited to your personality and intelligence level.

I have always asked for a full name and it has never been an issue. I understand your need for discretion but I have concern over my physical safety. If someone decides to stalk me I damn sure want to know who it is! If you are not comfortable providing such info that is understandable; simply find someone else.
