Im not sure what to think of it.  I've heard this arguement before.  It was be crazy to think that this is true, the implications of it.  But then if its true, whats the cause?  Is our mind that powerful?  I remember hearing on NPR years ago about a woman who was mistakenly told she had HIV.  She immmediately started the meds, planned the end of her life, and truely believed death was around the corner.  Well, needless to say she got very sick, had all the symptoms of the onset of AIDs and was at deaths door when the doctors discovered she did not have HIV at all.  As soon as she heard this, she made an immediate and full recovery.  I wish I had a web source for this.  But its something to ponder.

First, I remember the spread of AIDS back in the early '80s before the current drug treatments. It was a real disease. You could still see it progressing without drug treatments at will, as so many infected people cannot get treatment. Spending billions of dollars to cause a disease so people could sell it as a cure is not a conspiracy I think you have to worry about. It doesn't sound too bright.  There are plenty of other conspiracies that threaten safety and health that people should worry about, (ie the tobacco industry) and plenty that don't involve billion of dollars in initial investments to endanger us.

Second, even if some remote court that rules that HIV doesn't cause AIDS, the scientist who research it definitely think that it does, and they have a very definite picture of exactly how it does this.  They also know where the evolutionary predecessors to the virus came from.  Maybe the scientist made a bad presentation in court?  The article cited is wretchedly written.  I can't tell what was decided from what, and without the headline, I wouldn't be able to tell what it was about.

Third, the "false positive," those will happen, unfortunately.  I've heard of the exact same thing happening with cancer, which is still *definitely* a real disease, and also definitely requires harsh treatments that make you very sick, and could perhaps kill you by themselves.
