It depends on the provider, I would think. There's quite a bit of flexibility on this. I don't charge for travel, and travel at least 1 hour to see any of my clients. But, that's me.
Some may charge $0.35 to $0.50 per mile, round tri; weather conditions may be some consideration and warrant more than this. Some may look at the travel time as taking away from other appointment times, and look to bill you a discount on her usual hourly rate. This could be pretty steep, considering you're looking at 2 to 3 hours -- but she's also looking at it from the point of view that it's 4-6 hours she cannot commit to earning her usual hourly rate in other appointments.

Is he a regular?, and how long is the session? Most ladies would not travel 2 hours each way for a 1-2 hour appointment, but for a 4 hour, it is something they'd consider, and for an overnight or longer, they will certainly do it if they have the logistical capability.
For that type of travel, the client must book at least a two hour minimum. For a two hour drive my fee is 300 for each hour. For the 3 hour... I would tack on like 75 more.
Tatoogirl - do you mean that for a 4 hr round trip (2 + 2) you would request 300 + 300 +75 + 75? This would be for an overnight visit. Just trying to be informed before I make the request. Thanks for your input.
You asked would I drive two or three hours to see someone. Yes I would. If I had to drive for 2 hours..I would need a 2 hour minimum of staying there. + Travel fee = 750
It does depend a lot on how far, what is already on my schedule, who the gentleman is, how long the appt is for & my mood (you know how women can be)
Generally.... I would drive 2 hrs for a 4+ appt with someone I like. And I drove 5 hrs once for an overnight.... but i knew that guy and missed him terribly!
I am planning on eventually going to Hawaii for about 26 days. I am single, not married, no intention of ever getting married again. Seeing the same provider about once a month.
Would not want to go to Hawaii by myself. Thinking about inviting her - though I certainly would not want to pay a huge huge fee for the 26 days since I would be paying for everything else and it would be essetnially a vacation. And as for intimate activities, while that would be great, it is something I would forfeit just to be able to go to Hawaii with a nice person (of opposite sex of course) instead of just by myself.
Unless she has no close family or other job requirements, it's very doubtful that she could even plan to travel with you for more than 1-2 weeks at a time.
Secondly, spending a month together, is VERY different from spending a weekend together. Chances are, either you will be completely in love with her, or you will never want to see her again by the third week.
Third, I'd suggest a very honest session of communication between you both before you even make a financial proposal. maybe she'd love to go to Hawaii, but doesn't want to be tied to you for a month, but she'd be HAPPY to commit to 10 days of travelling with you. Don't presume to know how ANYONE would wish to spend nearly 4 weeks of their life. You pretty clearly need to discuss this honestly before you can make any reasonable plan.
But it's safe to assume that a normal rate schedule wouldn't apply. Let HER think about what she wants, while you think about what you can afford, as well as what YOU want to get out of this. and then TALK TO EACH OTHER HONESTLY.
The best ten days of my life of 45 years was the ten days I spent on vacation in Hawaii. Saw 2 days of Oahu, 2 days of Kuaui, 2 days of Maui and 4 days of the Big island. And there was so much more to see and do. I could have spent a week on each of the islands.
Not I am not in love with her. I just don't want to go to Hawaii alone.
Besides, I shooting for April 2004. If you go to Hawaii, go between November and April so you can see the whales. The first(only) I went, it was in May and the whales had already migrated north.
