Version 2.0 seems to be my problem

I run all my hobby computer items on a zip drive using PortableApps that uses Mozilla Firefox as its browser. It has automatically downloaded Firefox 2.0  update twice now and TER does not seem to operate with it. How can I prevent it from automatically updating or is there another easy solution.

Are you on version 2.0. I think that is the number, I did not have any trouble before this update.

I'm using FF 3.0.3, seems you are a little behind in your version.  I have no prlblems with TER on FF.

Well since 2.0 - every week we get a new update- I am already on 3.04

SO hurry and get it - cause by next week - we will be on version 12.2

Dont worry , you arent missing anything -
its getting slower and slower as it goes-

Search on TER will not be installed because it does not provide secure updates.

Is there a workaround for this that I can do on my end?

No problem with FF 3.04, but lately I've been using Google's Chrome browser because it has a very handy 'Ingocnito Window'   When you're in the ingocnito mode nothing permanently gets written to your local computer.  It's very minimalistic but it's fast and solid in my experience.

PortableApps comes preloaded with Firefox. Is there a way I can make Chrome run on PortableApps? Thanks.

I have no firsthand experience with PortableApps so I'm not user, but I found this thread on the ProtableApps site that makes it sound like it's possible:
