Did a few Google searches regarding felony prostitution in New York, felony solicitation, and prostitution near a school. Disclaimer - I am not a lawyer anywhere.

I could not find anything about it being a felony for the provider.

More likely a plant to scare people off, IMO, but that is only based on a few searches. The bit about it being near a school is a nice touch, but I believe that is a federal law about dealing drugs, isn't it? There also are zoning ordinances about not having strip clubs near schools in lots of places. So that is a nice, plausible touch, but the prostitution laws in NY seem to focus on the person having sex with an underage person, whether it is the provider or the hobbyist.

Same here. That whole story sounds fishy.

First off, the young lady did not properly screen.  Secondly, the lady allowed herself to be manipulated into agreeing to accept $$$ for intercourse.  The LE screening test of "you show me yours, I'll show mine", was shown to be the pile of shit that it is.  

This vindicates the ladies practicing thorough screening.  And it also serves as a warning that we hobbyists need to be diligent as well.  LE can be subtle, like a snake in the grass, but there are telltail signs if you pay attention.  Namely, mention of $$$ for specifics is a reg flag, unless you already the other person.  Otherwise, you may find it's LE on either side..

Let's see Backpage, poor or no screening = bust, right? I think so. There's no tragedy here, but I am also against prostitution being a major crime especially in cases like this where she never really fucked the guy. Warning others is always a good thing, but to each his own. If ladies stop using the internet a some sort of meal ticket and do proper research or work with a pro until they learn the ropes, most busts would probably not happen. Save for streetwalkers and other low level types, why should anyone get busted if they screen properly? Backpage, CL and a few others are hotbeads for LE activity.
