Understanding the context was your challenge

No one claimed paying is the same as getting paid except you.

What was said is that ONCE someone pays to have sex with someone they don't find attractive they are in the same boat as the provider getting paid. All they really can do at that point is make the best of it they can.  That is clearly a different claim than presented.

The question that seems to be begged by the scenario is not "is paying that same as getting paid" but rather WHY would someone pay to have sex with someone they don't find attractive? It is relatively easy to understand why people will accept money to do that but the choice to pay for that seems less obvious.

So, this is a spin-off thread.

I thought the answer was quite obvious and self-evident , yet I've gotten some quite unexpected responses. So I'd like to ask people here what do they think.

Is there a difference between getting paid to fuck someone old, fat, ugly (ie whom you don't wanna fuck) and paying them to fuck you?

Some folks said there isn't, so I'm trying to figure out whether my sanity detector is malfunctioning or maybe I'm just out of the loop.

Thanks in advance.

They get paid for sex, period.

It's a job, that's all it is.

Is there a difference? Getting paid is getting paid. It's a transaction, period.

Well, I agree. The point  I was making is that a lot of people who do have sex with people they don't consider attractive, for money, wouldn't do it if instead THEY had to pay for it.

Some folks disagreed and said that the two situations are equivalent and that a monger paying to fuck a fat old ugly woman he doesn't want to fuck is the same as someone paying a woman to fuck a fat old ugly monger she doesn't want to fuck.

Methinks these two situations are very distinct. People who flip burgers for some pay probably wouldn't be flipping them if they had to pay the employer for it. Lol.

Trigger Warning! I am going to provide a topic-relevant quote that happens to be from a politician and provide a link, below.  If you are bothered by it, use "Report Post" and ask TER Admin to remove this post.

During Covid, a female NYC EMT whose hours had been cut back was posting explicit content on Only Fans to earn money to survive and make ends meet.  Some critics were not just negative but outed her and shamed her in the press. A NYC politician defended the EMT and said, "Sex work is work."

With the jobs   moving to Mexico, China,Indonesia, Malaysia, Vietnam, Thailand, etc over the last forty years, people have to make money to survive .So kudos  to the politicians  who support sex workers, and 'F'  those who sold us out to greedy CEO's and  their  corporations,

Paying someone unattractive to fuck you is not the same, nope.

Not for free .......

Doesn’t this belong on the Gigolo board?

would you pay someone to fuck that's fat & ugly, unless that's your kink!
When a provider fucks someone fat n ugly they are TOFTBA, their bank account, it's their job!
That's the difference to me, one is a job and the other they don't have to/want to do!

No one claimed paying is the same as getting paid except you.

This isn't remotely true.

To make sure I wasn't misunderstanding I asked that person the same question I've asked here, here let me quote it

"There is a distinct difference between fucking someone who you don't want to fuck while receiving 300 an hour versus paying 300 an hour."

and the response was "Tomato, to mah to"

In other words, that person confirmed they are the same concepts to them.

I suggest you stop trying to amend history in order to attempt to invalidate my point.

I have an old man I absolutely love & adore. We’ve been friends for over a decade & never had sex. This morning I am driving over to his home for a special delivery request for my sweet nectar & brownies. We are all not the same darling. I don’t judge anyones desires. I am a professional woman of leisure & I am here to accommodate special needs.

...my sweet nectar...
Huh? That sounds pretty sexual to me.  😜

I love that - ‘sweet nectar a& brownies’. Must be the current lingo for golden showers and scat play. Well played Queenie, well played. Didn’t know you were into that level of kink.

Thanks love. I thought it was cute to post my honest & kinky lifestyle. TER is a vanilla board, but I am a real lifestyle BDSM player. Taboo fun is my ATF. Smile for me! Xoxo

Boy, I'd hate to see how you treat a man that you DIDN'T like!!!  :-D

Sex wasn't a necessary part to my question though.

A guy gave a request for brownies and nectar... that's great. You're getting paid for it right? What would you say if you were paying a guy to taste his brownies and nectar?

My point was that it's inherently different when an escort is receiving money to engage with someone they don't find attractive, versus a monger who pays money to engage with someone they don't find attractive.

The answer  is simple - the ONLY difference  is 'WHO IS DOING THE FUCKING '.

NB : YOU DID NOT SAY MAKING  LOVE, BECAUSE ,BOTH CAN MAKE LOVE TO EACH ,BUT FUCKING IS A WHOLE DIFFERENT BALLGAME.
