Understanding others...

The last couple of days some very interesting topics have been discussed here. From TS to racism to just good ole fucking :-).

I thought it would be interesting to share this link with y'all. It sheds light on what trans people go thru (some of us) and how a little more tolerance and embracing would go a long way. Specially in sites like this where we are a community where we would think we're more open minded than most.

I was gonna post it on the trans forum but honestly that would be like preaching to the choir. Hope you guys like it. It's 6 short episodes and I think the amount of information packed in this little series is amazing. Hope u guys take a peek and give ur opinions on it. Thanks 😊

I'm at work right now, so can't view this, but when I get some "me" time I plan to watch the whole set.

Appeals for understanding are always in order, and yes, TER of all places ought to be more understanding sometimes, but then again we also reflect society as a whole and given what it going on in the body politic these days, you can understand if we sometimes fall short.

Keep being our conscience Sasha

Made me think of a song about illogical prejudice and lack of understanding of others:

It was a little hard to follow with my hearing problem.  However, I did catch a few things, like the lesbians being "Ewww" about a transgender woman sharing the bathroom with them.  Thank you for the link, Sasha.  I will learn anything I can on this subject; I want my Trans lovers to be comfortable with me.

now I am really struggling to understand what a TS thinks and their challenges.
Watched the videos over and over so I could better understand but all I get is more questions.

The quality of those videos and actors is amazing.

Sasha, thanks for the info.  We learned from you.  Keep it up.

Thanks Sasha for exposing this great series!  It helped me understand TS women better and the challenges of relationships while highlighting how ridiculous and unfounded most people's prejudices can be.

I am using my alias because one of the principal actors and creators of the series was my ATF for most of 2015 but when she retired to focus on Her Story she asked me not to contact her again, broke my heart!

She's a great person for what I have heard. And u can see her personality thru the entire show. Jen Richards I think is her name. She was one of the writers and producers of the series. I'm very happy for her.

I think mine did. Click on the lower right side of the screen until you see a CC box.

I'm hard of hearing as well, and I was able to watch it with closed captioning. I didn't use the app, watched it in the Chrome browser, not sure if/why that would make a difference. At the bottom of the screen to the right of the progress bar I have a small cc button.

Watched all 6 episodes plus the short on the importance of being authentic in casting. Very well done, thought provoking and moving.

The only thing I didn't like was the hats. Someone needs to tell Allie that the hats really are a life choice and something she has control over. Sorry, I don't mean to make light of a very serious subject. It really was well done and I enjoyed watching it for the way it conveyed a very complex set of issues. But the hats ... really?
