The last time I was at the Cocal the going rate was $120-$150 per hour for girls who were TER 8s and 9s. Given that, no monger (and almost all are from the US) is going to pay US rates.
But since the lady is on vacation perhaps she doesn't care. And checking out the scene at the Cocal pool bar is loads of fun if you enjoy this life. The food isn't bad either.
But they don't speak English do they? Gotta speak English.. My biggest issue with Latinas is that most don't speak a lick of English.

I was also thinking about J's safety from different viewpoints. I don't know CR or Jaco but I'm wondering:
1. Will the local chicas resent a US escort competing on their territory? Will they cause trouble for her?
2. Does J need to know anything about the local LE? Will they expect a bribe in order to look the other way for minor infractions (and thus, protect the local chicas)? Even tho' the trade is legal down there, there might be local rules that they use to make life difficult: "not signing in at front desk" "skirt too short" "skirt too long"
3. Are the guys down there any friskier than they are up here in the US. "I'm in CR! I can get away with being a big jerk and treat the ladies like crap 'cause I've got US dollars," kind of stuff.
4. Is Cocal owned and operated by Americans? Should J check with management to make sure they know that SHE is legit and not going to murder his customers? Should J check with management so they can look out for her or give her advice ("That guy is OK. That other guy is trouble.").
5. Do you guys who know the place have any real advice for her?
First of all, as I said, my last trip to Jaco was 2018 and no one I know has been there post-Covid. GaG is going there in a few days so perhaps we'll get an update from him. You can also check the International Sex Guide, which has a page on Jaco. That said, here are my answers to your questions:
1) I doubt local chicas will resent her but anything's possible. Keep in mind the "local" choices at the Cocal have long been supplemented by girls from Colombia, Panama, Nicaragua and the DR. I even met an adorable little Cubana there.
2) I have never seen any local LE inside the Cocal except one time when a fight broke out between an intoxicated hooker and one of the bartender girls. The issue of "not signing in at the front desk," however, raises an interesting issue. All working girls in CR need to be registered and carry an ID that looks like a drivers license. Most hotels require her to stop at the front desk and give the card to an attendant so she can be ID'd if anything goes wrong. There is also often a $20 charge to the room holder. I don't know what would happen if j was asked for (and could not produce said card). This would not hold true if she was with a guest of the Cocal because she's already in the hotel and they don't card girls before they enter a room, or charge an extra fee.
3) I've never seen a gringo misbehave at the Cocal or anywhere else in CR. Who in his right mind would want to end up in a foreign jail?
4) I don't know who owns the Cocal, though several Jaco hotels are American-owned. And don't ask for advice from the desk, which will only bring attention to yourself.
5) I thought I already did give some "real advice" but please read above.
You did give some real advice but I meant, "5. Do you guys who know the place have any ADDITIONAL real advice for her?" My Qs were not so much advice as Qs. But your additional comments on the points I raised were helpful, I think. (Up to J to decide if they were helpful or not.)
So after all, I was not successful in finding anyone to play with except for the Canadian who was staying at the resort, on the first night, who dined at the Y until I fell sleep.
