Been reading reviews here lately and I'm amazed at how downhill this whole thing has gotten.  I feel like reviews are literally the reason this site exists, and I have personally had some reviews in the past rejected for some inane reason or another...but I saw a review yesterday of a provider in Boston where the review read "and then... XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX  XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX."  Why does THAT review get approved?

I mean, the spelling errors and the poor English to the point I actually don't know what you're trying to say are bad enough...but filling space with X's.  

Anyway...rant ends.  

1) They are desperate to get new reviews here.
2) They have cut way back on their staff so stupid stuff like this gets by.

Have not been consistent for a very long time. Makes you long for the good ole days when the rules were hard and fast and enforced somewhat evenly across the board. Sure there was always politics involved, but things were much better then with less grey area IMHO.

In addition, he didn't include a link to back up the veracity of his complaint. Why does THAT new post get approved?

i have learned long ago the secret in using the reviews is look for trends and check reviewers history ..    

like the olympics i tend to ignore a lady's highest and lowest scores.      

also check reviewers history.  i recent discovered a girl whose reviews were all 10/10 ..  but in checking the guys ..  of the 7 reviewers  5 of them only had one review, her and it was a 10/10    the other two guys had reviewed 5 other girls but all those girls got a 10/10      that actually makes me hesitant to see her.  

and remember scores are also activity dependent .   so i might be thrilled to see a girl with a great review essays but 8 performance  since i dont care about greek and CBJ.      so before you spend your hard earned cash take 15 minutes to do your homework.    

an appropriate username.    I noticed you have not contributed any reviews of your own since 2016.  If guys like you, who do seem to be articulate, would keep putting reviews up, it would serve to dilute the numbers you have observed with poor English.  You also should remember that for 20 months TER was not accessible from the US, so a lot of the reviews that went up during this dark period were from hobbyists in other countries where English may not be their usual language, and to my knowledge, TER will not accept reviews written in other languages.   When you are complaining about the poor review-writing, but are doing nothing yourself to help make it better, you sound a little hypocritical to me.  

agree....  the site is only as good as those who participate.    i remember complaining to a trade magazine editor about the quality of the trade work she featured.    her response, if you have better send it to us!      same idea,  start posting reviews and help improve the site vs just using it.  

Am truly beside myself.  This is the first time you have EVER posted ANYTHING that was totally accurate and made complete sense.

 
Good for you, yet am guessing this anomaly will not continue.  But congrats on your "one in a row" excellent post!

have you been?  FYI, I ALWAYS post things that are totally accurate and make complete sense (except for a little poetic license on the P & R board - Lol).  You just weren't open-minded enough to notice before.  LOL      Thanks for the compliment, whether sincere or not.  Lol
