How do providers who have Twitter accounts assess their value?  A good way to keep in touch with existing clients -- or a way to interest new ones?

A fellow DC hobbyist maintains a "hobbyist" Twitter account -- where he follows his favorite ladies and posts tidbits into his life as a hobbyist.  All anonymously, of course.  I'm thinking of doing the same myself.

its great for keeping in touch with others in the hobby is all i will say. its a faster way of keeping tabs on me too as i am always on the go.

i draw the line at Facebook though.

I'm a good girl.

sorry. i am taking a break from teaching myself DreamWeaver and getting ready for school. I have to study extra hard in math subjects, as math is not my friend. I am reviewing Algebra and Trig right now.

i need a good laugh.

Lots of girls give tweeting a try and plenty of guys follow them. The best tweeters make interesting observations on their lives and do it with style and humor. These are the ones worth following. The most annoying thing about hobby twittering is the unbelievably lame replies the guys send to the girls. Like a girl says it is hot out and a guy says to DRINK WATER. Why would anyone want to follow a hobbyist's tweets.

I use my twitter account mainly to interact with other providers more than hobbyists. It is nice to have a hobbyist input on stuff I've tweeted about for example wishlists, or calendars, touring etc. I do not use my twitter as a way to get appointments.

I don't do Twitter,Facebook or MySpace in my personal life. I see no reason why I would need to do it in my hobby life.

If I want to know when a provider is visiting my area I can look at her website calendar. If it is not updated and I am anxious about seeing her again I can pick up the phone and call her or email her.
