" Going under the knife for prostrate.  Doc wont predict outcome."

The outcome for fulfilling is much better than no surgery. From what  I've heard, good chance after prostrate surgey, with med help.
If oral meds don't work, there is also an injection available.
As a last resort,penile implant.
Guaranteed no sex, six feet under in a box.
Robotic assisted prostatectomy is the most successful method at maintaining sexual function.
With the help of robotic assisted surgery, there is less chance of damaging bilateral nerves.
It might take 18 to 24 months to be back to normal.
If you don't desire stimulation soon after surgery, do it anyway.Blood flow is good for healing.
Take care Good Luck to You

I say book 15 - 30 different ladies now and go on a fuk rampage.
Because as the saying goes -  you may never pass that way again,
after they do some cutting down there.

I say go for the big buffet before it's all gone.

I've not had one, but if you are having a TURP (transurethral resection of the prostate) there is a chance you'll emerge unable to have sex absent some kind of penile prosthesis.

And it depends on many factors,
What was your PSA (matters some)
What was your gleason score- (matters alot)
How soon they caught it
your age
Talk to your doctor and get a second opinion. research your doctor's experience and don't do the divinc
just because he needs the numbers.
I am still in recovery from surgery and I have a good probably of getting function back.
It all depends on if they can save the nerve bundle on either side.
My doctor said function comes back in two months to a year.
If they do save it and it all comes back (I am still waiting) be ready for one big difference- no ejaculate, that comes from the prostate. Look at it this way, less to clean up.

Do your research and ask your doctor alot of questions, that is what you pay him for. Write your questions down so you don't forget, and take notes so you can refer back later.

Good luck!
stay positive and pm me if you need to talk.

...Prostate cancer is very slow growing.  My bro-in-law was diagnosed with it about ten years ago and it has not progressed.  He's very glad he decided against surgery.  The longer you can safely postpone surgery the more likely it is the proceedures will improve and you can have it without the side-effects.

I had surgery at 60. Now 67 and cancer free. Been using tri mix injections. Never fails...hard as a rock. Life is not nearly as good and no spontaneous but it works fine for me. Good luck.

Robotic is the way to go.  Don't believe them when they tell you that after 25-30 ops the surgeon is experienced.  It takes about 300.  My surgeon was an early adopter, has done 2000 by the time he got to me.   When I asked my surgeon whether his results resemble the post-op stats that I had been reading, he said the published stats were based on his at-bats.

Travel if you have to, to find a good surgeon.  I was gratified when my anesthesiologist said that my surgeon is the doctor's doctor.

I am semi-active again after a 18 mos., but you have to get to know yourself and your response all over again.  Its different, and you have to be much more proactive, it doesn't just happen.

Get the vacuum pump, use it twice per day, use it or lose it. The silicone cock rings that come with the pumps are great, use them after you don't need the pump anymore.
