Hi,
I recently inquired to an ad on Tryst from a provider who advertised in multiple cities in CA. She wanted a 50% deposit, which I wasn't comfortable with. After agreeing to a 20% deposit which I paid, she disappeared. This is the 2nd time in the past year this has happened (the other time there was no negotiation about the deposit). I feel as if I'm seeing more providers on tryst purporting to serve multiple cities, and wonder if this is a scam to exploit prospective clients. Of course, I'm now quite leery of any provider asking for a deposit.
Should I "out" the two provides who did this on TER to help others, or might that expose me to public disclosure of my information?
Any advice is appreciated. Frustrated.

Did you check to see if she has at least 50 reviews and ads/presence. Did her phone number/email match with the one she had on this site…it is very important to check all of this. I hope that helps…sorry that has happened to you 😞

So for any provider that asks for a deposit, I will only do that if I can find multiple reviews that they are legit.  There are far too many scammers out there for me to risk my dollars on unknown quantities.  Do note, there are plenty of legitimate providers that do require deposits, but always verify them on TER first.

The multiple city thing is also a red flag for me.  Sure, some providers tour regularly - but most of the great ones will have a specific 'home base'.

Regarding your experiences, I would write them up into reviews.  I'm not sure how much of your info you gave these scammers, so only you can weigh that potential risk.  You can also report their profiles on Tryst directly to hopefully get them removed.

I'd go scorched earth on these scammers. Air em out!

Then again I'd never pay a deposit. Exhibit #748474844883 why paying deposits is risky.

ad on multiple cities a give away its fake especially if they dont also post a travel schedule.    NEVER EVER give a deposit so someone you dont know or at the very least isnt someone with a large number of reputable reviews...  watch out for someone who has reviews but all the "reviewers"  have only posted 1 or 2 reviews

i am even hesitant to pre pay to someone i have already met.

its that simple

I've been burned three times twice by Tryst girls. Twice deposit scams, once photo shopped listing that was probably 25 years younger in the photos than the 50year old that showed up. When I files a scam ntice with Tryst,,, they said they were investigating,,, for 3 months,, then no response about the complaint and I had zelle records, screen shots of the texts, PROOF positive the listing was a scammer... But they did nothing. Didnt even remove her listing and let her change her listing name.

Private Delights I posted a review about the rip-off (same girl as on Tyrst) Review was up for a few weeks, then they deleted it. I heard from another girl there that she bought her way to deleting the review,, she is STIL on PD and Tryst.
I'm convinced TER is the only place i've seen that doesnt let the bullshit  sway them. Put up a bad review here and its here for EVERYONE to see.

I have to say, the nearly ALL of the independent escorts I've seen are decent people,,  but you HAVE to do your homework

I don’t think an arbitrary number like 50 reviews is necessary if there is a solid review pattern. Some providers like myself are extremely low volume.   Less reviews over a longer time period are equally valuable as are reviews from clients with a well established review history.

That blows. These days I verify first with reviews and then consider a deposit. Ideally reviews on this site give some peace of mind, but even some review history on that shitty PD site would be better than flying blind.
Whether to "out" them or not is a judgement call. You'd help others by outing the thieves, but If you're concerned about your info being exposed maybe err on the safe side and let it go. And stop using providers with no verifiable reviews?

You can certainly "out" them but if they're truly just scammers, well, they'll just grab new pics and make up new names and go right on with what they were already doing.  HOWEVER, if they've got YOUR personal information, you should take the beating and make more intelligent decisions moving forward and hope to hell that their next step isn't extorsion.

If you're married or have employment such that being involved in this activity would be highly problematic,  you should probably stay in a user friendly playground like TER where you've got a very good chance to verify that the gal, at minimum is real and has a track record.  A provider having the PII of a client creates a safer space for her, anonymity creates a safer space for us.  There is no safe for both providers and mongers, it's just manageable and tolerable risk for both, simple as that.

I personally see Tryst as a low budget site. Private Delights is the worst. I would trust TER and P411.
It’s so sad that this happens so often. I personally also got burned by so many clients and they cancelled last minute once I booked the room and canceled my other plans that I personally only meet via deposit only now so that if the client canceled at least I won’t loose $300 on the hotel I booked with my own money. Must protect yourself from both sides:)

It’s weird you feel the need to ask. Sharing is caring. I want to know. I unfollow scammers on social media. I don’t want to be affiliated.

As a reputable provider who has integrity it’s baffling how one can get scammed and not report it.

I have only refunded deposits once last year because I had a concussion. Everyone was refunded ASAP. I have required a 50% deposit to book since 2010. I would never jeopardize my impeccable reputation here after over twenty years to steal, or ghost anyone.

🚩 When you said she negotiated her deposit.

I pay to advertise on tryst in 3 cities because I have always catered to SD, LA, & PHX. I drive all the time to all 3 cities upon request. All providers are not created equally. I worked hard to build my brand and business.

I’m sorry this happened to you. If you’ve tried to resolve it privately and they've gone silent, you’re not overreacting by taking next steps. Like providers have to do, I think you have to do a quick "gut check" first. If you plan to write a review ask yourself: do you already review on TER and do providers know your handle? And are you comfortable connecting this situation to that handle? Transparency helps the community because it protects clients, removing scammers from this realm makes it easier for legitimate providers who run their business professionally to still receive deposits, but you need to protect your privacy too.

If it were me, the steps I'd take are to report the ad to tryst. Screenshots of the ad, messages, deposit request, payment proof, and follow-ups. They will act on patterns. Then, post a factual "rip-off" report here. Keep it clean and date specific. “Paid X% on [date]. No-show on [date]. [Number] follow ups with no reply.”

With respect to your  “multiple cities” concern, I am someone who lists multiple cities. Minneapolis is home base for me. I am also in New York and Chicago about monthly because my clients fly me in. That looks like three cities, but it is stable and verifiable. The difference is not how many cities are listed. It is whether the provider is legible and consistent.

How I would vet any multi-city ad before sending a deposit:
• Website that looks like a real person owns it, with current copy and photos that match across platforms
• Socials with recent activity and the same voice, not just an OnlyFans and a Gmail
• Reviews or other proof of reputation. There is some leeway here because some providers do not use reviews and still have strong verification footprints. Look for third party signals, older tweets, press mentions, or long-standing client feedback
• Clear deposit and cancellation policy in writing, before you send a dime
• Reasonable deposit size for a first meeting. If the amount feels outsized for the date length, pause

Desire makes the logical mind and the downstairs have a good ole fashioned tug of war. Sometimes slow is better, so take a step back and think it through before reaching out.

For this case, do the paper trail, report it, write the factual review if you feel safe. Then take a breath and choose providers who are easy to verify. You deserve a great experience, not a lesson learned the hard way.

The deposit issue has been debated to death in these forums, so I'll stay away from that.
.
Now, here's your biggest mistake: don't see ladies without them having a long review history here on TER. If a lady has a strong review history your chances of losing a deposit or worse, getting busted, are much, much smaller. If you choose to see non-reviewed ladies, it's your risk and unfortunately in this case you lost.

TER only requires 20 reviews to be eligible for the top 100 list.

Everyone has a different screening process to where they would feel safe. I gave “50” as an example. But I personally don’t feel safe even asking for a reference from a provider unless they have a strong presence simply based on My Personal Experience. I have Not had good ones with those.
My advice was simply based off of My Personal screening standards. They can give a deposit to Whomever they choose it’s Their money 💰 but I would personally require a presence and many reviews

Indeed true. But TER ‘s standards are Not My personal standards for my safety. From My experience when using references with only a few reviews and whom were new. So I would suggest for everyone to have Their standards to what makes them feel safe whether it’s sending money or screening 😊

The latter makes outing these scammers much more of a dilemma.

I’d like to add to this.

I was in “the hobby” for a long time, took about 5 years off, and recently got back into the game. I’m also a fomer TER member who signed up again.

I’m in a location that doesn’t get a lot of quality providers, so there is a dearth of such on TER, unfortunately. I became aware of Tryst about a year ago and had moderate success finding decent providers. Lately, however, I experienced a scam and some disturbing trends.

A reasonable deposit via CashApp for a future date with a provider led to begging to “help me out” a few days later. The understanding was that the deposit and “help me out” amount were going towards the fee for the date, so I sent more via CashApp. I get a hotel room. At the show-up time, she’s late. I message, “Where are you?” She messages back, “I forgot to mention that I need $50 for gas.” (I was 50 miles away and this was an outcall session). I say, “OK, I’ll give you that in cash with the rest of your fee.”

Nope…CashApp only for the $50 and balance for the date. I said no. She begged and begged. Offered extra hours for the fee. I said no. “I’m in the parking lot. Send me the money and I’ll come up.” I still said no. This went on and on with me saying no every time. I got the gist of what was going on. Finally, I said, “I'll give you double the fee in cash if you come up right now.” No go on her part.

Bottom line, I walked. Nice little scam, though.

Also, on Tryst, I noticed a lot of providers will only communicate via OnlyFans. Of course, you have to sign up for the website and pay a fee to send messages. This one provider had a 30-day signup for $5. So I sign up, say hello, and right away I am solicited for “content” for additional fees. I say no, not interested in content…just interested in setting up a day and time for a session. That was the end of the conversation and I was ghosted.

Between those two experiences, that’s quite a racket some of these “ladies” are perpetrating. “Nice work” if you find suckers like I was. Oh…and the OnlyFans scammer has a new ad on Tryst…under a completely different name.

Lastly, I noticed that some of the Tryst providers who are “touring” somehow turn up saying they are currently in different cities at the same time they are advertising for tour dates in other cities.

Some of you are probably aware of what I described, but getting back into the hobby has been a bit of a learning experience for me.

Stay safe...

All Ad Sites, Tryst included, are littered with scammers. You'r correct, many of us are aware of the types you mentioned. And, there are more types. That's why I only use Tryst as a source to then cross check with TER. I have it easy compared to you though. I'm in LA and options are plentiful. I can only imagine in a less populated area with fewer options it can be difficult.

So I'll just add a couple of things to look out for:
.
1) On Tryst, look at the cities on the tour schedule, is they don't make sense geographically e.g. California, to Florida, to Washington (State) to Ohio, etc., then it's probably a bs ad.  You have to know that scammers are going to be out there posting baiting ads, and although $30, $40, $50 might not seem like much, these ads probably get plenty of traction so I'm sure they are profiting off naive clients.
.
2) If the price vs deposit % seems TGTBT e.g. $300/hr and asking for a 30% deposit, it's probably bs
.
3) As you stated in your ad "She wanted a 50% deposit, but agreed on 20%".  Either pay the asking % for the deposit or move on, I personally wouldn't feel confident that the date would go anywhere near my expectation after negotiating down an escorts asking rate.
.
4) Should you "out" said providers, absolutely.
.
To me, deposits are a no-go.  I'm not going to argue whether or not you should or shouldn't.  Escorting is just not something high enough on my priority list that I need to put money down for prior to the actual meeting.  When I see an ad asking for a deposit, I cross said provider off my list, make a mental note and never look into see that provider again.  There are too many options out here to get your rocks off e.g. free porn, cam girls, OF, etc., and at the end of the day, PUSSY is not a necessity.

I am pretty sure OF has strict rules on using the site for escorting….it can get the OF account banned.

I have seen many tryst ads emphasize not to contact her on OF if you want to meet in person

I have had this happen to me as well, it sucks and I blame myself.  I do however on MOST ads do my "due diligence" and search around the web, do Google Lens searches etc., especially when they ask for a deposit.  There are plenty of bad ad's out there especially on hot.com and adult search.  If they do not have a handfull of reviews on TER I will not even pursue them.  Just my 2 cents.

50% is too much…even negotiating it down is a red flag and if it is geographically impossible to service the cities listed within a day BY CAR or TRAIN, it is a scam…

i have paid 20% max but only to a provider that was vouched for by more than one person on here and with multiple great reviews…she also screened the crap out of me and a scammer is not going to send multiple emails back and forth requesting information

if the provider is on here, absolitely write a bad review, but don’t expect anything from tryst…they are SW friendly and turn a blind eye to any scammers on there

If I did I sure wouldn't negotiate it. And I noticed you reached out to someone where, "the other time there was no negotiation about the deposit". Makes me wanna ask, why did you feel the need to negotiate with this one? Was the 50% too much? Now, I don't know if you getting her to do the 20% deposit may have pissed her off to the point where she figured, "fuck this dude".
Anyways, asking if you should "out" her on TER? Depends, how much info does she have on you and does she seem the type that can go BSC? I'll assume she's not reviewed here? If not you can do a rip off review, I think
But if outing her is risky for you then let it slide and chalk it up to experience and learn.

besides i have learned that girls are really quick to pull the trigger on black listing a guy.   so if you book and no show trust me she will tell everyone ....

i found out that a couple girls posted on the back channels.  that i am "super cheap"   turned out it was girls who required a hotel room to meet and i told them i won't pay for that.    that wasn't only to limit budget but also to not have any credit card paper trail

Yeah, I am going to go with your assessment on scammers here. I am honest and up front with potential clients as to what I need to book an appointment and when I am available. If a "super hot chick" (the term I hear when some of you guys just are thinking with the little head!!) is magically available to meet in an hour and keeps pestering you for deposit money or more screening information that just screams scammer. I might send a follow up message asking if the person is still interested in booking but I am not going to incessantly badger them. I am also 45 and very mid and I am already half booked for Dec. You think some "super hot chick" that is half my age and charging almost the same rate as I am is going to be available in one hour???? Wildly unrealistic.

is the goal to steal RWI or scam money? both?

it would seem that for a scammer, it would be faster to just say, “i’d love to meet you baby, i  available at that time, but i just need a 50% deposit via venmo to hold the spot!”

he either bites or he he tells her to go pound sand or ghosts

either way, scammer moves onto the next sucker as they have plenty to choose from given the ad shows a slender blond current cheerleader, age 20, BBFS available for small upcharge, can meet anywhere you want, 300/hr, locations as Los Angeles, Atlanta, and Chicago on tryst….
