as a newbie, how reasonable is it to negotiate price with providers?

1. holding a lit piece of dynamite and trying to snuff out the flame in time.

2. licking your elbow

3. finding the perfect "agency" girl

and I'll let the rest of the world chime in...

I certainly wouldn't.  There should be a law against this.  If you don't like the rate, go to someone with a rate that fits in your budget.

Wait until you need surgery. Find the best surgeon in the best hospital in your area.  Go through all the pre op arrangements.  Check into the hospital.  Get wheeled into to the operating room.  Before the anesthesiologist puts you to sleep, stop everything.  Tell the surgeon you will give him/her $150 cash for the operation and the anesthesiologist $75.  No questions asked.

It is considered quite reasonable to negotiate the prices for a procedure that you are going to receive.

To do it right before the procedure is not something that one would do, but to negotiate before anything starts is quite acceptable.

I have a few friends who did this who did not have dental insurance, and also someone who did not have health insurance who negotiated a discount with cash.

So that comparision does not work for me at least.

A law against negotiating price for an illegal service?

Interesting..

During a first visit, the price you should pay is what the provider wants to receive.

There are women who offer discounts, and also encourage customers to offer a lower price.   The provider is free to accept the price or refuse it.

After a few visits, when you have a relationship with the woman, then discounts for multiple visits, etc. can be discussed.   Pretty much every women I have seen more than a few times has offered lower rates.

In most places it is against the law to charge differently for those with and without insurance.  Most often the uninsured get charged the "price" charged insurance companies on paper.  This price is never what the companies pay, so they may actually pay $100 for a service with an official price of $3000.  The uninsured person would receive a bill for $3000.

Then I guess the ladies that see you should only give time and companionship and then it wouldn't be illegal would it? Haggle away!

Hey Bro, It's all about respect. Think about what you are wanting from these ladies. The really good ones are offering you an intimate encounter & are going to let you do things... Think about it... would you have sex with yourself for what they are asking?

What you need to do is for the 1st session take her a little extra gift, wrap it up nice & then you can give it to her saying, "This is just a little xtra gift to say thank you for seeing me."

Treat them like the ladies they are & it will bring some surprising results. OH - only take this approach if you are sincere - they'll spot a faker amile away & it won't get you anything.

Tell him Aretha!

There is a law about not declaring the income earned providing an illegal service.

Oh...unless it is for an extended appt. and the rates are not listed. Sometimes I will make deals on longer appts. but it is by my own standards. I don't usually take offers.

Refers to all income, not just income derived from illegal activities.

So that does not match what she is talking about.

Do you have any links to back that statement up?   I could not find anything to support that statement.

The only support for this was From ABC News:

It's not as simple as haggling on a used car lot," Merak said. "Doctors do have legal stipulations, meaning they cannot waive co-pays. The trick is to look for areas and fees that are not covered. Things like fees for a doctor's time and office fees."

So you can still negotiate with a doctor.

that is what FAQ for Newbies board is designed for.

But as a general question, for anyone, negotiation on price is not tolerated, newbie or not.

it is what it is. If she intends to post a discount she will all on her own, all trying to barter for a deal will wind up getting you is a dial tone.
I f the lady you want to see is out of your comfort zone for what you want to spend, seek comfort else where.

It's not reasonable at all, in fact it turns alot of us off to be honest with you!  We post our prices, and it's up to you if you choose to see us, it's not "Lets Make A Deal"  There are many beautiful providers on here that are probably in your price range if one you would like to see isn't. IF and only IF a gentleman books a multi-hour date would I make some exception and only with a date MORE then 2 hrs, but that's me and my way of doing things.
One thing you must remember newbie or not, our price is our price..would you go to a check out line and say, "Nope, i don't think these groceries are worth 300 bucks, but i'll give you 200"  your likely to get escorted out of the store!, well, our worth is what we dictate it to be, you can go with it or not!
Good Luck to you,
Jay

Even as a non newbie it isn't ok to haggle. Either you pay the retail price or go shopping at the clearance warehouse.

I read the provider's website and either go along with what is there or find someone else. Recently I got together with my ATF again and I mentioned to her that is was partially her fault it had been a while since I saw her. She had changed her availability to 3 days a week and for a couple months I was not able to see her on any of those 3 days.

I will not ever expect a provider to change what they have posted on a website for me (even if she is my ATF and only provider). To try to get lower prices or other special considerations is not only tacky, but makes her see you as a bum.

In the Medical biz You do have to charge them the same, however there is no law that says you cannot give a discount to the uninsured if you want. You just can't have two different price lists.
Now if someone does have insurance, you cannot accept less than the contracted amount or waive copays, because the doctor's contract with the insurance company usually stipulates this and could be considered insurance fraud.

Having said that, Dr. Joe is right in that what doctors charge for services compared to what they are actually paid is kind of a joke. There are probably few industries where professionals with extensive education and training have gotten their reimbursements for services cut year after year despite having increased costs.

Where did that come from? Sorry for the rant. I guess i should go over to the P & R board.

Think about this...If you  find a new civvie GF, she won't like it when you go to dinner on your first date, and when she orders, you ask her to please pick something cheaper on the menu..

If you are  looking for a GF experience with a provider, its best not to treat her like a jerk BF would..YMMV rofl
