Trouble activating Walmart Green Dot Card

Just tried to activate a Green Dot Prepaid card from Walmart with a fictitious name, and ID number. Got an error message that said unable to activate based on the information provided and to submit for a refund of the purchase price. I just got out of the screen and stopped.  Hope I haven't blown $250. I have activated theses cards several times in the past with no problems. Has anyone had this come up?

Just kidding. Usually when I buy one I just give the lady the number, she does her deal, and we're good to go.

The number is located in a very different spot than on the normal Green Dot card.

Just give her all the numbers on the card and let her figure it out.

I'd walk out, get in my beater, and call or text the lady with the number on the receipt. She'd do her gig and that was that.

I know most guys aren't comfortable sending ladies money before the fact, but I guess I'm different.

Just don't feel like going to the bank and pulling out whatever. Especially when I know them and they won't fuck me in a bad way. ;)

I've never done Greendot because when I try to read the fine print, it hurts my brain and it looks like they request official info (SSN, etc.). If I recall, some Greendot cards say they only work with US vendors and TER payment processors are European. Some guys do report that it works for them without official info. There is also Greendot MoneyPak which is different. In fact, from https://www.moneypak.com/, Help:

"I accidently bought a new Green Dot Prepaid Card instead of a MoneyPak."
"Please email us or call the MoneyPak Help Line at 1-866-963-6219."

(Note that one is moneypak.com and one is mygreendot.com.)

Can someone explain the difference and how to use one or the other with BillPay for TER VIP payments?

Of course, this would all be a lot simpler if TER WOULD TAKE OUR PRIVACY ISSUES INTO CONSIDERATION CHANGE THEIR PAYMENT OPTIONS!!! (all caps on purpose)

First of all, "All you do" is quite an exaggeration. Without even considering my contributions to many other threads on several boards, my reply above PROVIDED relevant info about the different kinds of "GreenDot" cards for the OP, including a link and phone number. I ASKED for others to answer a very specific question that would help everybody, if there is a general workable answer (which I doubt there is).

I STATED my oft repeated request that TER take notice and change their payment options: "Make it easy to pay and people will pay. Make it hard to pay and people won't pay." I do not start these threads about difficulty making payments, I REPLY to them. OTHERS are pissing a stream of moans and complaints about payments and I'm just trying to help them while taking a little whiz before the thread gets flushed.

As for me, I've got plenty of VIP left for a while. Besides, I like it here.

Now I really do have to go piss.  Ohhhhhhhh ...

Actually that is what I hoped to get some insight into. I have activated them at least 4 times before with fictitious info and no problem. I thought maybe someone else had already had this come up.

I had made up a phone number, that happened to be someones real phone number. They were matching the actual address(as determined by the phone number) to the one I made up and it didn't match. It was pretty easy to correct by phone. Feeling pretty stupid, but I did get it activated.
