I have heard there is a great night life in China.  I will be visiting Beijing shortly.  Any information and guidance will be appreciated.

I had a friend who was at a bar with his wife, and a lady tried to pick him up for a "date". The spas at hotels are nice. You can get a real massage, and she may offer a happy ending. If the hotel plays it really straight, they will tell you up front that you don't get a private room, or no F on M massages.

At the nice independent spa/bath houses, you can get a massage in a private room. There, she may come dressed in a china doll dress. If so, you don't get a massage, but you do get everything else.

I can't speak to Beijing specifically, but can give you some general advice based on my many trips to Shanghai.

(1) You will get approached in any area of heavy foot traffic for watches, bags, and women. Be careful as many of these will take you to a place that will indeed provide what you are looking for, but they will run up a rediculous bill on you (up to $800 USD before anything has happened). These are rip-offs!!! I'd recommend staying away from any of these where you get approached on the street. And if you are non-Chinese and on the street, you WILL get approached.

(2) Anything that says "massage" on it is really just a massage place and NOTHING else. The happy ending massages happen in places that are un-marked or disguised as something else like a hotel or beauty shop.

(3) The best places to go in Shanghai are the well advertised KTV's ("Karaoke Television"). There is one in Shanghai called the Gold King that I swear to god has over 500 women they will parade into your room in whatever kind of wear you want (think jeans, prom dresses, dinner dress, etc. etc.). It is over 4 floors of rooms and is big enough to get lost in. If I remember right, the "sitting fee" for the room is 2000 RMB and then 300 RMB for each girl (so 1 girl would be roughly $300 USD). This will only provide you the room with a karaoke machine and lots of alcohol, mixers, beer, and snacks. If you don't like your girl, they will swap her out no questions asked. It's then another 1000 RMB to take the girl to your hotel ($133 USD) for full service. Some girls won't go for this, so just tell them up front you only want to see girls that will go back to your hotel. As far as I saw, there was no hanky panky actually in the KTV itself... it's just a meeting place for interviewing prospects and having some drinks. I would assume that there are similar KTV's in Beijing. My understanding is that some are actually just KTV's where people go to hang out and sing Karaoke, but the following web site should help you find a good KTV in Beijing (http://sammyboyforum.com/showthread.php?t=9196). This is just a free message board that people keep up to date with the latest in different international cities.

(4) Many of the bars have girls just hanging out in them that will approach you. Again, 1000 RMB is about right. I haven't tried this specifically, but I've been told that the "go home" girls show up in mass to the Hard Rock Cafe in Shanghai around 10pm (management apparantly doesn't let them in until that time).

(5) I've been told that most of the web sites to get girls in China are rip-offs and that you will be much better off to stick with the KTV's.

I freely admit it that I love asian women.  I'll had some emails back and forth with kittyasia.  Seems like a real sweet woman.  You can contact her at [email protected]  For some reason her website doesn't seem to be working at this time.  She would be one lady that I would definitely want to visit with if I ever get to China or if she made it back over here to the US.

I carried on a bit of PM with her for a while and I was very impressed with her demeanor, to say nothing of her other attributes.

I sure hope that her board being down is not a sign that she has a problem with the powers that be over there.
