First, Middle or Last of the Month.
Which Day's / Weeknds is Best For Me To Stay / Tour in Your City

Boston is the most pleasant in fall, especially early October, or Spring, mid-May.

Of course those are the times that the hotels charge the most too.

I prefer weekends myself.

June thru September are awfully hot and muggy, even May.
Days of the week or part of month don't differ.....Full of visitors either way.
The historic district offers plenty to see/do during slow times.
St Patty's Day is party unequal to anywhere else.

I just hope you're not asking about this weekend, I'm out of town.

Weather is pretty good all year. Scenery doesn't change much. There are busier tourist seasons. Summer and holidays for family travels since kids are out of school and such, and winter gets busy with the snowbirds escaping the cold. Fall and spring are little slower, and tend to have better flight and hotel deals available (unless there is some big convention going on). So for less crowds and cheaper accomodations, try Fall or Spring. On the other hand if you are touring for "work," your client mix will be locals and tourists, so more tourists are available during the busier times. Weekdays are also generally more economical for hotel rates.
