Too Small...and Risky Plastic

AA,

Thanks for your comment.

I agree that dental dams (and condoms) take some getting used to and may not feel as good as direct contact,
but not using them both is increasingly risky.

BTW, plastic wrap, such as Saran Wrap, is porous and does not offer the same protection as a legitimate dental dam.

PS. I don't know about "too small" dental dams, but I do know that too small condoms are problematic !

What do you--providers and hobbyists--think about the use of so-called "dental dams"? Have you had any experience with them? If so, what was it like? Is this a coming trend?

that come with a disclaimer on the box that says, "Caution.  Use of this product will not cure paranoia?"

Coming trend? They've been around since the 1980's.
Had a civie many years ago,  insist on seran wrap as a DATY guard.

I have seen some providers mention them in their ads here in Australia, but none in the US.

Around...but more widely used or accepted?
Saran wrap is said to not be appropriate or safe since it is porous.

Any experience with them that is. Maybe because I'm not one of the fools who pay good money to suck on plastic.

I can do that at home for free thank you.

"Dining" through a plastic tablecloth!

....and since they were comfy with my girlie parts unwrapped, I got all snuggly with theirs - plastic free  :D

A gentleman bought some to our session and we used them. I felt extremely comfortable using them and wish that more guys would opt for covered DATY (problaby not going to happen!) . . .

On to the feeling of covered DATY: I still felt the warmth of his mouth on me and a little bit of lube behind the dam made it feel damn near close to the real thing.

At the end of the session, I asked him why he used dental dams and he told me about his 30 year marriage and his concerns of bringing something home or giving something to a provider.

I had mad respect for him.

I'm surprised. I would think that the clients would be more opposed to using them than would be the providers.
Thanks for your message.

One very vivid image I will always savor is when i was first starting out in this hobby. I was naked on my back with this gorgeous & aggressive woman on top of me. I had laid a dam nearby and handed it to her to use on me.  She looked at it, looked back at me with a sexy leer and tossed the dam to the floor. She proceeded to give me some unencumbered and  magnificent DATY. I get wet just thinking about that session :)

Go Down on Me Without One.  I had a client a long time ago that went down on me without it.  This guy called me at least once a week for 6 months after that asking if I had an STD, because he got so scared.  Never again.  Then that whole thing with the actor that got throat cancer from some girl he went down on that had HPV gave me another reason.  I don't like to leave clients worried and paranoid about whether they dodged a bullet or not.

You just freed up an hour of my time in the future.

Why wouldn't he just get tested? What a fucking idiot. I'm not even saying he's stupid just for being worried, I'm saying if he was that worried and didn't just go get a test, he's dumb as a post. Actually, I take that back. That was an insult to posts everywhere.

Maybe the poor sap did have  an STD and wanted to see if he had passed it on to her.
Some people's reactions to guilt and shame can be very obsessive.

showing up at mom's house for Sunday meatballs and sauce wearing nose plugs...

Never gonna happen !

Like liking a lollipop with the wrapper still on?

I meant LICKING (not liking) a lollipop with the wrapper still on it.

I use them, but didn't always. I require them now, my sister's a Dr and std and sti rates are on the rise, I see more and more ppl not using protection and in ones personal life I understand but when you are having relations with strangers for a living it pays to be cautious.

Thanks, LeahJames. No one could reasonably disagree with what you write.
Does this mean Dental Dams and Condoms (including only CCBJs) for all oral and genital contacts?
Perhaps so....

Dr.Cres these days I say better safe than sorry. I knew a provider from school YEARS before I got into the hobby who's roommate was also in the hobby, and the roommate found out she had chlamydia but kept allowing clients to perform daty on her kept giving bb services and I am 100% sure she didn't tell her clients. Most ppl don't get tested until they believe they have an STD. She risked the health of her clients and their wives, because ppl will focus more on their pleasure than their health, I feel the need to take extra precautions.

LeahJames,

I know that, for a fact, what you write is factual and correct.

For health's and safety's sake, we all should use Dental dams and condoms from now on....

and dumb I used dental dam for daty, I also used a glove & a condom to give a hand job. I worked for several escort agencies, while I was in College.  I do not use them & would not use them now.  They taste gross, and there really is not fun involved. Sharing is caring.  I hope you boys appreciate my candor.

TGIF!  Smile 4 me & have a great weekend!

QueenBia,

Thanks for your comment.

I agree the tastes are not good, but "sharing {STDs} is caring"?

Each person has to make her/his own decision. Risk STD and more feelgood fun OR play it safe, less sensation and yuck.

( I think I know which choice most TERers have made and will make. Many of us are risk takers in more ways than one.

Eating pussy has almost zero std risk except for HPV, and you don't have to worry about that causing problems unless you're a smoker.  Chow down and enjoy!

*caution, this is not medical advice.

DrCres71 reads

Aenimalist,

Thanks for your comment. I'm glad you added the caution about yours not being "medical advice."

For those who want medical advice, you can go to several sites on the web.
For example, the website for the federal government's Center for Disease Control states:

"MANY sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) can be spread through oral sex.
Using a condom, dental dam or other barrier method each and every time you have oral sex can reduce the risk of giving or getting an STD."

Anyway, each person has to make his/her decision (but should be aware of the risks).

As I wrote earlier, most of us on this site are risk takers of one sort or another anyway,
so once we have accurate knowledge we can and will proceed as we choose (or as our urges move us!).

Good luck, Aenimlaist! and Enjoy!

Why don't you just proudly state, "My name is SandpaperSally from Anytown USA and I ONLY provide covered services"

Virtually every post you have made under this alias has been on the very same subject. Your "medical advice" is no more valid than anyone else's here, and posting under a handle that has "Dr" in it doesn't make it the least bit more valid. I can't imagine that anyone on this board doesn't have at least a basic understanding about STD's and how they are transmitted, your Chicken Little act is unlikely to do anything more than annoying the people who come here to shoot the shit. But if you REALLY feel that strongly about it, lose the alias and say what you have to say under your "real" hooker handle.

DrCres67 reads

GG,

I did not realize that if a person is interested in a topic and posts it, that person is required to post their real name and address. Thanks.

So GaGambler is your real name?

I never claimed to give medical advice that is more valid than anyone else's.  You might notice that I did provide a reference to the Center for Disease Control. I believe they have some real experts there.

If  "shooting the shit" on this subject annoys YOU, why don't you just ignore and skip this topic?
Sorry you are having such a bad time that you feel compelled to correct the behavior of others.

But thanks for your "orders."  I'm sure people on this board appreciate your concern for, and guidance of, the rest of us.
