I've been advocating for a long time that someone make a movie of the life of a former prominent LA provider who sounds a lot like the girl described in the Variety article.

a $10,000 a night escort?  and how many of those are there?  and how many sessions like that occur?  I suspect fewer than he thinks.

If he really wants to be honest, he will pick up the soccer mom, the college coed who have high sex drives, and enjoy the hobby, but mostly need the cash to make ends meet.  In reading through what was in the articles you quote I found the following:

This has been discussed previously - overhead and normal biz expenses are never factored into these calcualtions... much as the perception of the "rich MD"  which also does not exist anymore.

While I applaud the use of an adult actress to portray the escort, I can think of TWO legitamate mainstream actresses who also happen to be escorts!  One with significant mainstream movie (Philadelphia Story, Witness, and others) and TV show (Hack and The Jamie Experiment)  experience who would be excellent in this role!  so why go for an imitation?

Also, hypnosis that a professional call girl?   I know only one escort who actually is a hypnotherapist!  sheese... and this will be a real or even close to real portrayal?  common - who we kiddin here!?

NOT a good thing for the hobby... just my opinion.

Even though he says he wants to use an adult film actress, I think he will still want to get one that has a recognizable name to the general public.  I think either Jenna Jameson or Traci Lords would be on the list since both of them have done regular movie roles.

It'll be typical Hollywood extremism. Going for the exception and not the rule.

I personally think that the only way this could be done, and portray something closer to reality, is to shoot it in another country but make it look like the USA.

It was done with "spaghetti westerns" so why not "speghetti porn"?

focusing on the positive aspects of the hobby with characters that are realistic. It is pretty obvious that many providers are intelligent, emotionally stable, smart business women and enjoy what they do. I am sure, however, it is a high stress job at times. These are the characteristics the female character should portray.
I would like to see a movie that focuses on the  a relationship between a guy and his atf over the years as has been discussed about on here. How the relationships evolved over time. Those kind of relationships are unique, mysterious, and fascinating and would make a good movie. I guess it would have to be an independent film as it may not generate big box office.
I have enjoyed many of Soderbergh's movies but he seems off track here.

Thanks for the vote of confidence, funny you should bring this up, but I actually WAS contacted by Soderbergh's people about 6-8 months ago to see if I would be interested in being involved in the film.  I said no, as I did not want the scrutiny that comes along with a higher profile ... I already have enough as it is due to my previous adult modeling career  It would be foolish to expose oneself to the degree that would be necessary unless you are planning to get out of the business, which I am not!  I love what I do - and yes, a fringe benefit is that some of us do become very wealthy in the process LOL
