i see a lot of meet n greet posting..and unsure what these events are really about. everyone claims to want confidentially, but then meet others and providers in public. por qué? (why?)

i imagine so that one can sample the chemistry in a low risk setting and minimum expense. no first date $$$ remorse.

Essentially, they are cocktail parties where the guests are your fellow hobbyists and the beautiful ladies that we all love.  For you as a hobbyist, imagine being in a room with at least a couple dozen of the ladies that post ads and commentary, and having the opportunity to meet and talk with them in person, all in one night.  Play it right, not only may you have afterparty fun, your wishlist may swell with ladies eager to meet with you.  Sound like fun?  You bet it is...

Further, the guests are all screened, and a social is not illegal.

It sounds like it might be fun, I hope to go to the next one.

and going to another here in the Orlando area next week. They are fun and a good way to put a face on all the people you see posting on the boards. That includes the ladies for me.

I never worry about who's there because it is a social gathering and business never passes my lips. All guests are screened and will tell you their member name.

PS: Wouldn't it be fun to have a meet and greet for all the posters on this board..I know it would be tough picking a mid point for the location as everyone would have to travel and get hotel rooms. I for one would be the first to send in for my spot on the party floor. Who else would make special plans to attend this event.

and it was a terrific night. As mentioned, it's basically just a cocktail party. You get to meet some beautiful women and some of your fellow hobbyists. You can arrange to have a date after the party, or take your chances that you'll meet someone who is available for after the party. In my case, I had a date, and we wound up going to dinner with about ten other couples after the party, and before the playtime started. I made some good friends, both guys and ladies, and have seen one of the ladies that I met there.

I have been to several that are sponsored by a local board in my city. We have two types. Happy hours, which are held in a public place and all members of the board are invited, and Parties which are held at a private  location and all attendees must be screened.

Both are a lot of fun. The parties can get a little wild. Some people don't go because they are afraid of meeting someone they know. Most people give out only their screen name. It is a great way to meet providers and to also meet your fellow Hobbyists. I have several guys I have become friends with because of these events.

and I can tell you that they are nothing more than a cocktail party, no different than an office party or such, where people get an opportunity to put a face with a name, to meet people they have seen "on the boards", and to talk, face to face, with someone they have flirted with here.

"Business" is NOT discussed, but the opportunities are there to meet someone and make that "connection".
Some make arrangements to bring a date with them, others just enjoy the mingleing and the possibility of meeting a new friend and getting together after the party.

So, M&G's are a great way to meet fellow hobbiests and the ladies without the formality of an appointment.

BTW, all people who attend a M&G are thoroughly screened by the organizers and NO ONE gets in without an invitation.
Security is always very tight, which is why the locations and other specifics are not made public at all.
Only those who have been screened and are attending actually know the location.

M&G's are a lot of fun and a great way to "meet some old friends and greet some ne ones".

Obviously LV would be Good for a National M & G(everyone knows LV or has gone at least once).  On a Regional level would be harder depending on States or areas to meet.  Since I'm new to hobbying(less than 2 Years) don't know of area where I live(in NC) that does this kind of M & G.

attended 4 M & G's in the past 18 months and have met some wonderful ladies with whom I have had terrific dates either that evening or weeks afterwards.  Some of ladies were of interest before meeting them but after meeting them, they moved way up my list.  I am one of those guys who looks for some sort of connection beyond the physical.

A M & G eliminates the out-of-date pics scenerio.

Most of the guys are cool too.  Only met one a-hole so far.
