It is illegal to run a house of prostitution, and street walking is also forbidden, but for an independent escort to tout her availiability in a discreet fashion and have P4P with a client as we do here is all on the up and up.
I have some business in Canada and was wondering if the hobby is legal there? I've been doing some research and I cant find conclusive evidence one way or the other. Anyone have any input on the matter? Thanks!

Not sure but I have always been under the impression that at least in Quebec Province (Montreal) that having an escort come to your hotel was legal. Street prostitution is illegal as far as I know.
Public solicitation for prostitution and brothels are illegal and enforced. Escorting is not illegal and law enforcement takes a sane attititude that what happens behind closed doors [ ie hotel room] between two consenting adults is no ones biz. So , if you are asking is prostitution legal in Canada the answer is it isn"t. Does LE target or even bother Independent outcall escorts or outcall agency babes...NO! So go to Canada...enjoy the low rates...the many choices..and a culture that has a reasonable attitude about adult entertainment.
It varies by province but the basic answer is that escorting is legal. In Ontario outcall is legal, incall technically is not. Quebec is similar or perhaps even more relaxed about it.
It does not vary by Province as it is a matter of constitutional/federal law. Outcalls are legal in Canada. Incalls are considered illegal - aka a bawdy house - but they are rarely enforced among independents - they are more used/enforced for massage parlours. Keeping a common bawdy house, being a found-in in a bawdy house and living off of the avails of a bawdy house are also federal offenses.
Solicitation - speaking/talking about it in public places is illegal - Private places including hotel rooms, cell phones, landlines etc are not considered public places - solicitation. This was brought in to get rid of street walkers apparently.
The difference between the Provinces is that some require escorts to be licensed, and others do not.
As far as different acts - cbj and others, there are no real laws around that, stating that one would be legal and the other not.
Overall, it is rather safe here unless you are going to a high volume area - then there is a risk due mainly to complaints from other people.
