END OF MESSAGE

When I was growing up, I was taught to pay what you owe, live within your means. Pretty simple, if you borrow 100 dollars pay it back. Don't buy a Porsche if you have a Camry budget.

Had a situation about a year ago where I gave a deposit to see a lady for an overnight. Things were going good, communication was positive. Sent her ticket to fly in to see me. Then about a week from the date I'm on the road, get to my hotel, pick up my e-mail and there is message from the lady to call her. I call her and she tells me she switched the ticket to go to another city to tour citing she needed the money. Well I was a little annoyed but thought we would still do overnight and that cost would just go toward session. Eventually communication broke down, I asked for money back. Received various reasons why it could not be paid ( Car expense, Western Union too expensive - offered her to give me net amount, take out fee still nothing, I don't understand what is going on in her life, etc) She actually tried to make me feel like it was MY problem. She mentioned since I was being rude in asking for money ( well maybe a little after SEVERAL attempts at being nice) that I was at the bottom of the list in terms of getting paid in her world.

You do live and learn! But to me when a lady is making 300/hr, is it that difficult to pay back a 900 dollar deposit.

I know I will never see it, but to me it is an example of turning something simple into something difficult.

I know ladies get ripped off from time to time. it happens on both ends. I don't thinl I did anything wrong in this instance, just maybe poor judgement. But now I see why some guys would be hesistant to give depsosits.

Excuse the rant, I'm reviewing financials too early in the morning and this just popped into my head

That's why I don't pay for anything in advance if there's any way around it.  I've heard of this happening a few times with previously reliable people, and it's not worth the risk to me.

I agree with Phil, pay at the time of the meeting or don't play. Now I realize that most providers want a deposit ahead of time for an overnight or longer. I guess for me, then it's no overnight stays!

What sucks is that you can't drag her ass into small claims court over it and she knows it.

"Yeah, Your Honor, I gave her $900 to come to my place and screw me for the weekend but she never showed and never paid it back"

Somehow I don't see that working very well!....lol But I absolutely would write a review about it, hopefully then rest of the guys won't get stuck too.

Since I would never schedule an overnight with a lady that I had not already seen a number of times, I would hope that we would know each other well enough that the deposit would not be required.

I don't give deposits and I miss a number of ladies that I find very attractive, but thats my choice.

One clarification. It is possible to arrange airline travel for someone so that they cannot cash it in nor change it. Were I to arrange for a lady to travel to see me, I would arrange her transport in this fashion. If she failed to show I could recover the airfare from the airline.

This is a class A rip-off situation and it's behavior like that which spoils it for the honest providers.

I know that it is TER policy that you can not write a review of this situation, but you can out her on the local board so that she does not take advantage of anyone else.

By the way, was she well reviewed on here or other sites?

for monies in advance. I chose to give the money to two of the ladies knowing full well that I might never see it again and I was reconciled to that fact. In my case, both ladies fulfilled their commitments.

The reality is this is a problem in life ... not just the Hobby. If you choose to advance money to individuals (sometimes the closest of friends) you take the risk of losing it even though that person maybe well intentioned.

Why do the ladies collect during the session,  instead of letting you pay them the next time you see them? Because they know, most Hobbyist would never pay them or see them again.

I am sorry this happened to you but if you choose to advance money, be reconciled to the fact that there is a very good possibility that you will not see it or the provider again.

OFF :-)

Some girls give the rest of us a bad name.  I can't tell you how many horror stories I've heard.

Again, sorry to hear that happened to you.

oh darling, that really is terrible, and very unprofessional of her!

A lot of us had to put the deposit policy in effect from guys flaking out on us and not showing up, or cancelling on us when we could have had other people for that time period.  I suppose in any circumstance where money changes hands there's the risk that some jerk is going to ruin it for everyone by being dishonest.

Ihope your future hobbying endeavors go better.

kisses,
Dru

I'm so sorry to hear that happened to you. I agree with Mr. Fisher that you should out her, but if my understanding of reviews is correct though, you CAN write a review, since money WAS exchanged. Just label it with a BIG OLD "RIPOFF" warning. She has certainly earned the label.

and it's behavior like that which spoils it for the honest providers.

Amen to that.

Sorry to hear of your bad experience. You got screwed over, plain and simple, and this lady is a complete and total douche bag for doing this. But you seem to be taking it much better than most guys would. Providers like this wreck it for legit ladies. I've never given a deposit and never will.

IMO though, this is also an indication of the general state of the hobby these days.  The percentage of frauds, phonies, fake pictures, etc.. has risen so much over the last couple years. The hobby is a buyer beware state more so now than it's ever been.

Why these woman would bite the hands that feed them is beyond me.  They are making a killing financially in this business. Most of them couldn't hold a real job if their life depended on it, and this business allows them to drive luxury cars, buy homes & their big plasma TV's, etc.. yet they do this type crap to the very people that pay their bills.  Even the more reputable providers, while they aren't thieves by any means, really do not have any true sense of appreciation or even respect for the guys that keep them from a career stocking shelves at WalMart.

Baffling.

Sorry to "hear of your loss" raysoflight.

I have had a lady who posts on TER no pay me for services rendered.  She's the first in 10 years.

Another posted here placed it right; if you're making 300+ an hour why is it so hard to pay back what you owe?

If she needed the money, all she had to do was ask to pay it back at a later time because she needed it for whatever reason.

But being nice day after day not returning phone calls or emails is childish.

...And she told ME to grow up.  Go figure...
