I would prefer to have anything you might want to give me in the envelope. I don't touch the envelope until it mysteriously houdinis its way into my purse at the end of the night anyways. I'd much rather have a discreet envelope like that than have someone hand me a wad of cash.

It can be really varied

I was tipped in both ways you mentioned. plus my gents buy me gift as tips.

Those I have met always tipped me by 1). I write them 'Thank You' email afterward since I dont check the envelope at the date.

Those I met first time usually did 2) since I require donation first. my rates (also the service quality) are high comparing to the normal market in China.

I appreciate for their contacting me no matter they tip or not.

I have a gent who tips me in advance every time we see each other. To him, he wants to show me he appreciates me- it has nothing to do with specific acts performed. Others tip afterwards- often following an especially good session, which is appreciated as well. Bottom line, I'd say with a new gal, it may be best to wait until afterwards, as there is no need to tip if she put in a half-hearted performance or did the "upsell."

Although TIP means "to insure proper service" I would give it at the END of the session

If the girl is with an agency, then YES TIP as she has to fork out more than 40-60% of her earnings

If an indy, well she is just that an indy, and doesnt have to tip anyone
BUT it is always nice after a session to get something as a swet surprise

I have had tips left in the envelope before, added to it after, and left in the restroom.  As they are never expected and always a nice suprise, I like them given in any form EXCEPT for handed to me directly.

I have to agree with the other girls.  Either way it's nice and appreciated, especially since I don't charge enough in the first place...  

It's hard to say.  When I get it in the beginning I of course want to be sure my dates gets my best effort.  But then I like to think I give that every time regardless.

And certainly afterward it's really nice to get a tip when it's not expected.

But I find that guys who want "extras" generally don't want to pay more.  Like sometimes guys who come over for GFE dates are often having such a good time an hours date becomes 2 hours or they see my "Wall of pain and Suffering" with the bondage toys they want to play.

But a good bdsm session takes at least 2 hours and needs some discussion, and starts at a higher rate because of the equipment investment, etc. So speaking for myself I really appreciate it when a guy recognises this type of thing and accomodates us accordingly.

a tip already in the envelope, when nothing has taken place, is meaningless to me. i want to be tipped because a man feels i deserve it, that i provided good service, exceeded his expectations. if he just automatically tips regardless, that doesn't make me feel very special and i'd rather not have the extra cash.
