Although I am not a newbie (I have used agencies exclusively up until now) I have never had the pleasure of meeting an independent lady.

Verification Question #1 Where do you work?

I am disabled. I don't work outside the house.

STRIKE ONE!

Verification Question #2 Who else have you seen?

I stayed almost exclusively with one agency. However, after a bad experience, I posted a comment in a review that I wish I had kept to myself. Now, much to my regrete, I am not welcome to call that agency.

STRIKE TWO!

I feel like a new college graduate. They can't get a job without experience and they can't get experience without a job!

I guess this is more of a vent than a question. I understand the ladies' point of view regarding verification. I own a house but I don't have a job. Just wish I could think of an alternative means of verification.

I realize Thirsty has been around here for a while, but consider this.  Many years ago as an escort in Los Angeles one of my friends went to The Hyatt on Sunset to see a new client.  He was in a will chair and played the part really well.  That was until she got on her knees .......He pulled his badge out and arrested her.

I hear things are pretty "hot" in some cities lately, keep this scenario in mind as I don't put anything past them.

That has to be the most evil entrapment scenario I've ever heard in over 30 years as a defense counselor.
I do think a vixen should have pepper spray for such occasions.
If she gets away, fine. If not, the jury will admire her spunk. She can put on a great story about sympathy for the disabled, and it will probably be true.
LA is the land of the acquitted guilty, and providers are not guilty of anything serious, especially not in being there to help out a poor horny guy in a wheelchair.

The best defense my friend is an open offense.
"Hi Vixen X, my name is Lost Schlong and I have enjoyed your website, bio, and the information about you, also the very nice pictures. You seem like the girl next door. I am a gentleman here in Boston and live & work in the ** area. I am self employed and a ***. This is my tel #. I have a passport and a drivers license, and I do not ever eat donuts. (I have no uniforms and no badges. I personally dislike cops big time. Optional.)
I would be interested in meeting and talking with you soon, an hour or two of nice companionship. I hope you like candles and soft music.
We can talk on the phone or meet at my place, where I will have your favorite wine, chocolates, and a silk red rose.
How is two days from now, 7 pm?"
[Optional: do you do bbbjteoku! LOL.]
As to references, "I am new to this, but your pics and bio are very appealing and I hope you are an understanding person. I've only seen a very few ladies before and keep no records."
["By the way, I give excellent marathon daty, and am writing a book - 'Tasting the wet Orchid.'" LOL]
Excuse my feeble attempts at humor tonight Mr Thirsty.
My approach has saved me from screening harassment for years.
Only 2 or 3 providers have pressed further, and I told them to forget about it. You don't need to give detailed personal info to a stranger like that. It can haunt you badly in the future.
Good luck. I am interested in how it goes for you.

Your excellent portrayal of Robert Ironside showed that we are capable of anything, even the most sinister entrapment scenario. ;)

The ladies know within 5 minutes of meeting me that they have nothing to worry about. How many ladies have been set up in a private home? If that doesn't convince them, me climbing a flight of stairs on my ass should put them at ease.

Seriously, the issue isn't about my disability. If I invite you to a private home, (not an apartment or hotel) I give you a listed phone number and I have posted a number of reviews on TBD and TER, does a work phone number provide that much more security?

So you are disabled and you work in the home? Well, how are you being paid? Check stub?

My suggestions, prepay in full, send the girl a copy of your check stub from your job or from self employment. Establish a solid relationship with the lady of your chosing. Once you've seen her a few times, she'll fell real comfortable and she will tell her friends...

and so on...

That piece of information can, and often does, totally screw up a person's life!
You do not know this person. There are evil-doers who use that info for blackmail all of the time.
All you need to do is develop a good reason and tell the provider that work # is off limits because of a super-nosy supervisor who monitors all calls.

I'm amazed that works for you.  Here in the Chicago area, employer name, switchboard number and sometimes direct work phone are *it seems* always asked for.  I so HATE giving out that work information...maybe that's why I don't do this much.

Geez, I don't mean to sound like the grim reaper, but this true story was a little closer to home.  Went to guys apartment complex. Got lost. He meets me at gate.  We go to his apartment that has two floors.  After small talk and lemonade it's up to his room we go. My set of Rosie and her sisters made acquaintance with his little head.  I'd say maybe just under 10 minutes.  As I prepare to put the party hat on.  He yells out to the others hiding somewhere.  All 4 came running in while I was still naked.

But it gets worse.  After I was placed in the car (unmarked) I realized another lady was on her way.  She arrived with her pimp/driver, who walked her to the apartment door, but they noticed he was "packing".  So there I was handcuffed in the back seat while they drove around following this dude who was "packing."  Can you imagine if there was a shoot out?

Strange thing was that they used HIS apartment and I know this because I was able to verify it with someone I knew who also lived there.  I did keep his number and a couple of times a friend and I would call him real early in the morning when he was still in a deep sleep and mess with him.  That was until I was sent a warning from the DA through my lawyer.

Although it's the only time I have heard of one of them using their own home, it's very common for them to use coporate suites/aprtments like Oakwood and others.  Be warned.

P.S.  Is there an edit feature? I made a boo boo in my last post.

I don't work so there is no pay stub self employed or otherwise to show. I mentioned my disability as background info. I don't see this as an issue of how to verify a disabled person. The question is,

Does my inability to give out a work phone/info really make me more of a security (or non payment) risk?

1. I'm inviting the lady to a private home in a nice neighborhood.
2. I'm giving out a listed phone # (NOT a cellphone).
3. I've posted regularly (including reviews) on TER/TBD for almost 3 years.
4. I'll happily show my driver's license and passport.
5. As an extra bonus, to prove I'm not LE, I'm willing to let her stand behind me, tip the chair forward and watch me fall out. ;)

Personally.... in a situation like this I would expect NO mention of any sexual activity whatsoever, and I'd probably delete if there were. C'mon Mr. Schlong you know better! :) I would want to hear some details about his condition and limitations so that I know exactly what to expect and how to handle it. I'd want to know what kind of arrangements are made for his care... is he alone, does family help, is there a wife involved... in other words I'd want to know what to expect from start to finish when I walked in the door. And I'd probably do this via a series of phone calls and contacts that might take a few weeks...

Of course that's all a mayyyyyybe... :) Depends on the gentlemen, but this one sure seems like a sweet guy!

Sweetie I can sense your flustration and I do understand, but please believe that we are not out to get you... at least for me, most of my screening has nothing to do with making sure you pay me. It's much moreso for our SAFETY in every sense of the word.  I've already said what my way of screening you would be... shucks honey, shoot the lady of your dreams an email. It cannot possibly hurt to ask and see! :)

Hubble has recorded some fine examples of bbjeoku in the distant regions of the Universe, some as long ago as 7 billion years. Hopefully they have finished though.
Ashcroft has pics of many from NASA and a task force to study this behavior which is draining so many of our patriotic males and leaving them with silly looks on their faces and wobbly knees.

I once knew a San Fran provider, a busty Swedish blonde, who claimed to have given a bbjeoku to Billy Graham in his hotel suite while there during a revival. He supposedly said: "Thank you Jesus" at the end. Swedes never lie. Baptists, however....

It seems that bbj is a universal phenomenon of science and nature, apparent in all known galaxies as a means of population control. The ultimate bbj of course is the black hole, with a vacuum power that exceeds the output of Hoover and Bissell combined for the entire past century.

My problem with verification has nothing to do with my disability. I only mentioned that as background info. My problem stems from verification question #1 "Where do you work?"

I have no need for care givers, no special equipment attached and no physical limitations that will effect our meeting unless the lady wants me to chase her around a bit first ;)

If you read the current threads, there is a case to be made about maintaining your privacy.

Indulge me, and consider the following two scenarios:

i.  Scenario # 1: There are some providers who request hobbyist to fill out a detailed application form ...guess what?!  If the provider is busted, and her laptop is confiscated or seized by LE, my friend, you are out of luck.

ii.  Scenario # 2:  In terms of references, this maybe acceptable.  But, could be problematic.  Say you see provider X, and now want to see provider Y (you like variety, or a still in search of a more ideal provider) -- How is provider X going to remember you?  Is she going to be thrilled that you are taking your business elsewhere?  What information is being communicated (would it be shared with you? How is communicated?

Let me make it CLEAR that I don't want to undermine the safety of the provider.  However, under the given circumstances (LE stings, etc.), I do not feel it is appropriate for the hobbyist to provide his personal resume to qualify for a session.

Besides, by providing the provider with personal information and references, the hobbyist is quite vulnerable.  If there is reciprocity, it is another matter.  But seriously, do you think a provider is going to reveal her true identify, and provide the same level of detailed personal information to the hobbyist? We all know the answer to that question -- Hell, no!

I think in there needs to be a happy medium -- not sure what?  Hmmm ... would it be possible to leverage TER and other review boards in some way?

I've noticed a lot of men have matching TER handles (ie: hornyguy3000) and matching hotmail accounts ([email protected])

I've done a lot of provider references and the woman almost always remembers the guy if 1) he uses his TER handle or 2) he has seen her a few times.

Most of the time it goes like this:

Do you know Joe Blow? His e-mail is [email protected] TER handle the same, cell phone number is 310-555-1212. He says he's a heavyset guy in his 50's who works in the computer field. And with that info, a good provider will always remember. After all, they probably did some screening before you came over so she's got some or all of the following: name/handle/e-mail/face/behavior/cellphone number intertwined somewhere in her mind.

I actually prefer references from other providers. And don't worry most providers don't care if you're seeing other women. After all, they're surely seeing other men, right?

I don't like to have people call me for references on people who have worked for me previously out of the blue. When a former employee or colleague let's me know I'll be contacted for a reference, it eliminates those few moments of awkwardness while I try to remember who the hell they are and whether or not they did a good job.

It makes a better impression for the person getting the reference if I can immediately say, “oh, yeah they were great!”

I think courtesy is important. I like it.

I think you are missing the point.  With all of these LE activities, privacy becomes a key issue.

Getting a reference from another provider means, that she has to reveal specific information about you.  What if she recorded that in her black book, or on a computer that was siezed by LE. Now you are cooked ...

It is also difficult for new hobbyist to get that reference. It's a catch 22 in some instances.

You do make a good suggestion of using the TER handlename.  Perhaps that might alleviate the reference issue.

clearly there will never be universal agreement on this whole screening thing. if a provider feels safer by thoroughly screening her customers, so be it. her right, her privilege, her choice. if a customer is made uneasy, look elsewhere. I can safely state that there is a whole lot of 'elsewhere' out there, and some of it is mighty fine. I may be an old fart now but of the 942 women I've paid to have sex with me (okay, with 850 of them the money was first turned into dinner or a movie or a weekend vacation, or, ahem, an engagement ring) but the other 92 preferred cash. no problem. sometimes you just don't feel like talking. or eating. or wondering what her favorite color really is.  and none, zero, zilch, zed, nary a single one of them ever asked to see or did see my passport, my driver's license, my pay stub, or any other form of identification other than my smiling face and/or erection. i've always thought a thorough exam of the privates in search of traces of std's would be a more reasonable screening process, and if done prior to any discussion of sexual consummation (try: 'hi, jane, i'm john doe. before i get that massage, i'm just curious if we might examine one another for std's, do you mind?') I don't think LE would go that far. Of course it doesn't solve the pre-meeting screening, but that can be handled through meeting in a public place. Just like a blind date would be. But hey, I'm a privacy nut. and I believe in 'vibes'. If after the handshake either of you feels like saying 'good-bye', the last thing you want is knowing that your name and social security number are now in the hands of an illegal businessperson and her associates. And as for the ter i.d., even ter suggests you not reveal that to the provider, in order to feel more free to honestly review. Including the rip-offs who threaten you with violence should you do so.
Then again, if you've just got to have Madame x and she requires you sign over your house before she'll meet you, hell, sign over the damn house! "Better to kill the babe in the crib than nurse a desire unacted"... Theoretically of course!  It's your life, your choice, just take responsibility for your actions.
Well, that's my long-winded two cents worth.
Play safe.

ps
in keeping with ter policy the above is purely fantasy play and I have NEVER paid anyone for anything at any time. Or something like that.
