I know, I know. It's alot safer to use this website but sometimes its tempting to go through the classifieds of ladies with cheaper donations.

I was also curious if anyone actually got caught in a sting here, if so are there any signs that one should look out for? And if anyone is from around the Seattle area, if they have any recommendations (CL, backpage, TER, etc.)

Some of my most loyal and favorite gents found me on CL and BP when I first started out two years ago this month.  They still come and see me!  So, YES, there are many CL and BP success stories.  

LE reads and lurks here on the pages of TER and all hobby boards.  We hear about CL and BP more often because of the number of readership involved. They are much more popular and known sites so, of course, there are going to be more horror stories.

A few years ago they were both great sites before the national wide LE crackdown.

I recommend that you stay away. Everyday someone is being busted in reverse stings from craigslist for backpage ads.

I had entered the hobby via CL and BP. I used them both for several years before finding TER.
I had only one really bad experience, but found many gems.
The last few years have been a little different with LE being more heavily involved, but to this day I will venture onto CL/BP for the excitement.

I see nothing wrong with providers advertising there either. As long as they have screening procedures in place, they can keep their risk to a minimum.

I've never used it, but hate it because of something that happened to some one I care very deeply for....

and some of those I met still see me. I nearly got in trouble twice, and was glad my natural instincts kept me safe. I recently tried both sites here in NC and from I saw, they are nearly worthless unless you are willing to take huge risks.

Most of the men can't read (apparently), will not allow themselves to be screened, and when they did email, the content was usually a disgusting one-liner like, "Rates?" or "I want to suck your big tits and lick your p*ssy all night." Yeah, sure, I will answer that when pigs fly. Then there are the guys who call and pretend they want to meet, all the while they are wanking off - time wasters.

I got tired of trying to sift through all the calls and emails for decent people. Some might say that fighting off this kind of behavior goes with the territory. If it does, my territory is moving over there on the other side of the tracks.

all the time.  Where they advertise has little to do with it.  You and I both know that there are creeps on TER just as they are on those other sites.  The numbers simply guarantee that we will hear about it more on those other sites than here, that's all.  It's statistical analysis at it's most basic level.  You, dear, are smart enough to see this.  I understand your hurt and your pain colors your view and I respect that, so, lets agree to disagree.

3) How many times it needs to told, "there is no substitute for common sense and thinking with the head on your shoulders instead of the one below your waist". It doesn't really matter which board you are on, TER, BP, CL, etc.

if you use the right tools for research such as TER and the other review boards. I also use www.tineye.com to confirm the authenticity of the pictures. There are some great providers in my town who currently use bp. PM me if you don't beleive me. However, I do not use CL. As a previous post mentioned, use the big head not the little one, when using bp or cl.

but in TN you are basically asking to get busted by responding or posting ads there. 90% of them are LE posing as providers. I have seen over 250 busts happen between Nashville and Johnson City in the past year and a half. I stopped counting when I reached 250 because beyond that, there was no point to continue. I understand that LE is on all boards but for whatever reason...they are corralling gents and ladies from CL and BP more than any other site here. Buyer beware.

I tried some CL girls before I found TER & learned how to research.  They cost the same base rate for my area.  But I had various scams, upsells, rush jobs, under performers, B&S, fake pictures.  After paying for an hour & finding myself back on the sidewalk 30 minutes later...  it occured to me that I had wasted my donation & my opportunity when for the same or less I could have had a good time.
I did find a few new ladies, just getting started...  who are now TER reviewed!  Don't be so darn cheap!  You shop on TER, devolupe a bucket list.  Get VIP, check out their reviews.  Have fun.

My only review was a backpage girl, it was a toftt and while not fantastic was clean and easy.
Ya I was nervous but it went off better than i was expecting.  I see lots of girls adds on backpage and then show up on ter reviewed.  I do watch out for 1 review girls with 8 9 10 from a 1 review reviewer. If any of you think that cops don't follow ter you kidding your self.

I've not tried CL, however, my only attempt at using BP ended up in a NCNS. I know this is not be representative of all ladies using it, however I will only consider seeing her if she is listed on Datecheck or Preferred411, and hopefully with some reviews on TER.

www.tineye.com is a great resource!!  I know for a fact that there are a LOT of fakes on BP (I advertise there) at least clients can rest assured now that my photos are 100% authentic ... thanks for the link

If you are a diligent person you could have Google Seattle Prostitution, 104 Arrest, Craig List and obtained the information.  This was an unusual elaborate 2 week sting involving rental furnishing, rental condo, rental hotel room to catch female Providers and hidden cameras. 14 of the arrest were women and three-fourths of the men who were arrested were responding to postings in the "erotic services" category on Craig list. The rest answered escort ads found in the back pages of Seattle’s alternative weekly newspapers. Vice detectives vowed to conduct similar stings in the future yet to the best of my knowledge no similar sting has occurred in the intervening years in Seattle. IMO this was more of publicity stunt and jumping on the anti Craig List erotic service bandwagon existing at that time. The commander of the vice unit said "We wanted to prove craigslist was in fact a vehicle for promoting prostitution." Seattle average 200 prostitution arrests a year and they usual are complaint driven often involving street prostitution and presumably half are Providers.

I am not a patron of CL Providers, knowingly at least. If I was I would only see ladies who had a long history of advertising on CL.  Many CL ladies also advertise and are reviewed on 3 Seattle local board as well on TER. I would restrict my choice to them. I would only have an appointment in a hotel I had obtained (out call only).  I would wait until the CL lady initiated the action and follow her lead. I would at least consider not giving the donation until the session has ended. These simple procedures would have avoided a hobbyist being caught in sting described above.

there have been MANY CL stings in since that elaborate one, just not as newsworthy.  I only posted the subject line to get his attention.  This was not the information I pm'd him, I could have easily linked to the article.  

My point was (as you are well aware) there are many other great resources in Seattle which can help to improve his hunt safely.
